Sorry I missed it live. I am so greatful to you guys for this series. Exciting to have a DC answer on my shelves to my Epic Collections. Looking forward to a lot of fun to come!
Sorry I missed the livestream but I'm glad for the rewatch. I'm so looking forward to this line I've already preordered (or plan to order) 19 of the announced books. I only have two of the DC Showcase Presents B&W series: Wonder Woman Silver Age and Phantom Stranger.
As a newbie, this seems a great time to jump in with DC. I have ordered both the first few editions of the new Absolute series, plus the Finest books for Batman, Wonder Woman and Superman.
When they get to Knightfall with the Batman line, I really hope they add "Shaman" and "Venom" from Legends of the Dark Knight, as well as the Sword of Azrael mini series.
Great show guys. I have always been a Marvel fan, and I collect everything from Timely/Atlas/Marvel in Omnibus and Epics up until the early 1990s. These DC Finest collections seem interesting and I may end up trying a few of these. Mostly interested in all the classic DC Western, War, and Horror if they are ever released, but may try Batman and Superman as well.
1938-1986 golden age to the end of the bronze age is what excites me, early hero and pulps. Looking forward to getting one of these in my hands, JSA, original Superboy, the LSH. Future additions to the range I'd like to see, All-Star Squadron, Captain Carrot and His Amazing Zoo Crew, Ambush Bug, Amethyst Princess of Gem World, Arak, Enemy Ace, Madame Xanadu, Firestorm, Fawcett Comics Captain Marvel, Captain Marvel Jr, Marvel Family. I like Kurtis' idea of licensed material potentially getting a reprint too, Tarzan, The Shadow, Atari Force, Doc Savage. So much potential, I hope this line is a success.
Some great ideas there, sign me up for All-Star Squadron, Ambush Bug, Arak, Captain Carrot and His Amazing Zoo Crew, Enemy Ace and Firestorm (all would be instant pre-orders for me) and that is just a few examples of the material. So much quality material that has never been collected, really hope there is a Sgt Rock line in the works too as that is definitely part of DC's finest comics (I know that has had Showcases and DC Archives but that's a long time ago now)!
@@jono3290 Sgt Rock should be a no brainer, such a long run, a well known and beloved character, its about time DC finally cracked its vault doors open and began reprints.
Great overview of the books, thanks guys. I will be getting roughly 90% of the announced volumes. Only skipping previous purchases in trade or omni and Zero Hour, not interested. Regarding Batman continuity, from 1982 to just before Crisis, the Batman and Detective titles were both written by Gerry Conway, which was followed by Doug Moench writing the two. Both writers had their stories start in one title and continue in the other, much like Superman's Triangle Years. Although unlike those comics, there was nothing on the covers indicating it was a continued story. But when these comics are eventually collected, I would expect them to be published in the way they are meant to be read.
I have a ton of Showcase volumes from when I was younger, so the Silver Age material is less interesting to me. But I'm for sure picking up the post-Crisis Batman, Zero Hour, the Golden Age Plastic Man, Peacemaker, and JSA, Legion of Superheroes, and Green Arrow. Hoping we can get some Fawcett-era Shazam books down the line. Also hoping for the Cary Bates/Greg Weisman Captain Atom run someday because Weisman is one of my favorite writers.
I’ve only been into comics since the end of last year so I’m mostly looking forward to picking up the classic stories and events DC is known for in this line. I definitely won’t be picking up every book for every character. But I’m excited to pick up a whole bunch of them.
I don’t think dc will release JLA 90’s run in dc finest line because of the complete collection that dc is already doing, there’s already a volume one and the second will be released in February
I already have the first three dc finest and I don’t like how its built the book, isn’t a great quality, and for me I’m not much into golden and silver age comics so I’m done with dc finest, but for the other hand I really liked those new complete collection with awesome series like Morrison JLA, new 52 JL, Batman by Grant Morrison, and so many more to come, greetings Dom

I'm looking forward to a post George Perez Wonder Woman and post Geoff Johns JSA
