This is one of the most reverent moving songs I've heard. David the Psalmist and King inspite of his faults was a man worthy of the Love of God! Thanks to those who sing this Psalm with such meaning and feeling. May the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob bless you.
I have watched this movie with english subtitles, thrice. I don't understand the language, but I can not keep this song out of my head. Its absolutely beautiful, spiritual. Love it!!!
If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget its skill. Let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth, if I remember thee not; if I set not Jerusalem above my utmost joy" Ps137:5-6
If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, Let my right hand forget her cunning. Let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth, If I remember thee not; If I set not Jerusalem above my chiefest joy. (Against) who said: 'Rase it, rase it, even to its very foundation.'
It is very beautiful and powerfully moving. No one said that Jerusalem should be razed to the ground. Christ said He desired to gather those in the city under His wings as a hen gathers het brood, but they would not. I feel His sincere pain in these words. He prophecied her end, but was no happier to do so than any OT prophet to say such things.
Yitzhak Azulay composed the music played in Fill the Void. The song "Im Eshkachech Yerushalayim" (Hebrew: אם אשכחך ירושלים, 'If I Forget Thee Jerusalem') features prominently in the film, playing at all three of the major events: the funeral, the Bris Milah, and the wedding. Azulay used an acapella version of the song, which is derived from an excerpt of Psalm 137 and expresses the yearnings of the Jewish people in exile following the Babylonian conquest of Jerusalem in 586 BCE: Psalm 137:5-6English Standard Version (ESV) 5 If I forget you, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget its skill! 6 Let my tongue stick to the roof of my mouth, if I do not remember you, if I do not set Jerusalem above my highest joy!
137:5-6 If I forget you, O Jerusalem, May my right hand forget her skill. May my tongue cling to the roof of my mouth If I do not remember you, If I do not exalt Jerusalem Above my chief joy. Psalm 137:5-6
If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning. Let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth, if I remember thee not; IfI set not Jerusalem above my chiefest joy

Here is the English Translation: IF I FORGET THEE JERUSALEM If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, Let my right hand forget her cunning. Psalm 137, If I forget you, Jerusalem, may my right hand forget its skill. May my tongue cling to the roof of my mouth if I do not remember you, if I do not consider Jerusalem my highest joy.
One of the most beautiful verses in the Bible, God telling His people He will always remember them. If I ever see God forget His people, I will know He is not a faithful God. So far, He has Kept ALL His promises to Israel.

A beautiful song performed solely with male voices. Wonderful moving original version of If I forget these Jerusalem. Go see the movie. Not released yet in USA. You will be moved and learn many new things.
i'm looking for the song the main character plays on the accordeon in the kindergarten. it turns into a very sad song when she is reminded of her sisters death. it's such a mesmerising scene does anybody know the song?
Does anyone know what choir sings this song? I have searched for a month and still, while they make reference to the writer of the music, they never say who sang it. They do say that it is sang "a capella " which is at times difficult to discern, because of the song being so exquisitely melodic.
beautiful song, I was wondering which a capella group is performing here ? I was searching the internet for this melody but could not find it. Anybody has a clue ?

Awesome movie, this song haunts me all the time! And I now have the utmost respect for that nation....

Let my right hand forget her cunning.

@@theresaortego2674 it's OT Psalm 137, not Gospel. Many years before Christ.
Haunting and beautiful. The longing for home is such a fundamental human need. This song and movie captures that essence.
