Its always great to see John Wadham on You tube! RIP. Its so easy to forget how great a drummer he was. I was a student of his for many years, thanx for posting.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Thanks for exposing me to Louis Stewart!
Following Mundell Lowe is no easy task...now I understand that Louis Stewart is in a league of his own.

"Louis Stewart's name should be a household jazz name". Yes, world-wide. Hopefully, TH-cam videos will help to remedy the situation.
Great clip, D'A. Thanks for sharing it.

OMG, OMG!!!! Incredible. Perfection. Sophistication. Style.
But above all knowledge, passion and dedication for jazz.
Its obvious. You can hear it.

The bass deserves so much more recognition! I'm a fellow upright bassist and I KNOW the pain of playing that fast and for a long period of time nonstop. He's got great bass lines! What a good sport. Nonetheless, Louis Stewart is killing it :)

The year is 1986 per the end credits (in Roman Numerals). Great playing all around, but I concur that Stewart's soloing is particularly on. Among other highlights, he quotes "The Blues Walk" at 3:45.

The main thing for guitar players to learn from this is when another guitarist is soloing ,stop playing ,and stay the Hell out of their way like Mundell did..

He stop playing because they had a Pianist in the band, if they did'nt have a Pianist then the other Guitarist should comping the song while the others soloing :D

NOT ALWAYS. Jimmy Raney and his son, Doug, have performed exquisite, Bach-like duets on Guitar. Much greater richness! This guy Stewart sounds like Jimmy Raney!
