No, it was only ever broadcast on Irish TV, RTE used to record a lot of the performances from the Cork Jazz Festival, and. then air them a few months later.

Thanks very much for posting it. I was there. The hightlight for me was all of their solos on Stephen but particularly Louis' ones. So much joy in the interplay in their solos. Eamonn Morrissey is just superb.

Most welcome, yes indeed it was a truly great night, I have posted elsewhere on some of the hurdles that Louis had to go through to get this performed, there was one incident, just at the start...Eamonn was very nervous, as not being a Musician, he was not used to cue's, and, missed the initial one, for him to start his narration, Louis just ambled over to him, and, said, Any time now head.

    • @captainsun4581

That's so funny to hear. Lousi was great - such dry humour and so relaxed. I can remember him saying at the end - 'I'd like to thank the Arts Council for the few shillins...' @@deangelico

Is this not just the most beautiful demonstration of the fact that this music is about so much more than just notes. This music for me is so much about feelings. When I was a very young guy just starting to learn to play the sax my teacher told me something I have never forgotten. He told me that when you learn a song dont just learn the notes - learn the words of the song as well or if ther

The first I think is one of Jim's tunes (possibly from his Spon project), the second is 'Passages", a tune Louis got from an album with Bob Brookmeyer and Jack Wilkins.
