Sheer genius... Ever since hearing Gubaidulina's String Trio (1988) on the radio and later the St John Passion I knew there was something special about this composer. I've heard much of her work in concert but my favourite piece remains Introitus (1978) for piano and orchestra, which I heard in De Doelen in Rotterdam. The atmosphere she creates in that piece speaks of a time when there were no humans yet on this earth - completely otherworldly. I also like the viola concerto very much with Yuri Bashmet.
Somehow, among many other thoughts, this reminds me (here and there) of excellent Italian movie music from the 60's and 70's. You know, sometimes the characters are driving with the top down around winding hillsides - the sunglasses gleam, the hair flows with the wind, the music is cool - and driving, driving... GREAT time-filler in those movies, because the MUSIC IS SO COOL!!!
I had this spontaneous vision of Gubaidulina sporting a series of hairdos throughout this video. Starting with an outrageous Babylon 5 "Londo Mollari" rug, and heading through powdered wig territory on into beehive country, and exploring a whole galaxy of permanents! LOL!
WOOOOOO,,,, QUE MUSICA O.o LA DESCRIBIRÍA COMO PSICODELICA CON MUCHOS COLORES Y MOVIMIENTO,,,MUY MUY MUY INTERESANTE,,,, VANGUARDISTA Y CON UN TOQUE ATMOSFÉRICO GENIAL,,,,,, ALGUIEN PUDE DECIRME A EN QUE GENERO Y ESTILO SE PUEDE CLASIFICAR??????
@voksenliv: Look up for "exempla nova 046" of Verlag Sikorski (SIK0846) They have got it under the title "Revuemusik for symphony orchestra and jazz band".
shakeerr : This really IS Gubaidulina. I compared the score with the music! But the title of the work given above isn't accurate. The exact title is 'Revue Music for Symphony Orchestra and Jazz Band'. You may look it up at Sikorski Music. I find it quite sad that it isn't recorded commercially.
Johannes Rumpf I have an old russian score of this piece, and it's called "Kontsert dlya dvuch orkestrov", Concerto for two orchestras. No wonder I couldn't find it at Sikorski - someone has changed the title since 1976...
I fucking lost it when the fro came in.

This might be a way to get younger audiences to go to "classical" concerts! Love it!
Not many noticed what happened at 0:40 😂
I need more music like this in my life.

Where did you get the music?
it is very hard to find

This composer made a big mistake.

I think this is also a total madman who decided to use this lady*'s name but I hardly believe that she actually wrote this.
That's her. th-cam.com/video/8VqSvBtp77Q/w-d-xo.html
