The great Ronnie Milsap. Underrated as a country singer and never got the full respect he deserved. He’ll go down as one of the best in the business. Amazing talent.
I've been a fan of Ronnie Milsap since the 70's so when I got the oppertunity to work in the USA(I'm from South Africa)as a truckdriver for a few months, his was the first cd I bought at Walmart. I still enjoy it and play it regularly. I'm a fan of this gentleman for life. What a great singer he is. He absolutely LIVES every song he performs.
Hello I really do appreciate you for being a big fan, thank you for your wonderful comments on my post it really means a lot to me.I sincerely hope you never stop listening to my music❤❤
Where else besides youtube can you find rare old performances like this! This is Ronnie at the very start of his country career in 1973. It is hard to imagine after hearing this that Ronnie had spent the previous ten years as a pure R&B/Soul singer laying gigs with James Brown and Stevie Wonder! There is no style of music this guy can't sing. Incredibly versatile and sooo underrated...
Glad that me and my friend went in his truck to lunch, maybe would not have found this great tune, have loved his songs for 40+ years... Smoky mountain Rain is still my favorite, but a dozen of others he does with passion and so much style.... And just love a lot of his tunes... thank you for posting
I can agree it’s on the same album but I can’t remember the name It’s on the same album but he put on another song called don’t you ever get tired of hurting me

Artist: Ronnie Milsap Song: That Girl Who Waits On Tables Lyrics I watch her picking up their tips off the tables And see them smile as she brings another round That dress she’s wearing shows she’s a woman And reminds i once had what they want now That girl who wait on tables used to wait for me at home And she waited till all her love was gone I’m too late, but I still worship The floors she’s dancing on That girl who waits on tables used to wait for me at home I see her play in that old jukebox with their dimes It’s a song about a fool who did her wrong And I’ll wait for her again til closing time But when she goes home tonight, I’ll be alone That girl who wait on tables used to wait for me at home And she waited till all her love was gone I’m too late, but I still worship The floor she’s dancing on That girl who waits on tables used to wait for me at home That girl who waits on tables used to wait for me at home! So, fine I went into this Place called the Dudley. And there set a Brown, he was dissing on Anna. He was talking about her bush, commenting I was surprised he ate the whole bail. She didn't get it but i sure did. It was so hurtful it was like living in the projects again...
O.K. fine she used to work @ Langworthy's. And i'll admit @ a young age she was Cumbersome. But I loved her & all she needed was the rite kind of coach. She was clumsy & awkward like some of my last XXX's.
@BloozeDaddy76 As much as I'd rather not do it,I'm going to splurge and pay the $60.00 for a @ album in 1 CD set of Pure Love & Legend In My Time. It's awful when you got to pay import prices when Ronnie Milsap is an American to begin with.
John W Landry hope you got the box set with all of his RCA albums...don't feel bad about spending extortionate prices for an out of print RM CD...I know I did with his "One More Try For Love" cd. I'd rather not say how much I spent...LOL
I loved her. But it was so funny every time my vehicles broke down. Codependency !!! I promised her & she promised me we would never leave each other. And now she's Dead I wasn't listed in the paper as her boyfriend. After 15yrs & buying her the most amazing Diamond Ring. I waited for her to ask me, I thought I was doing the rite thing.I don't want to say it but I know what's in my head.
It's not that I'm blind & can not see. I still have feeling & I can smell... And I'm sorry Little Bob had to experience that. But that a true test of how bad he wanted to drink. I would've honestly gave him a ride across town. But they were out of Natties. But you had to be there I could smell the Cheese from Under so bad, I was half gagging & laughing !!!
There was this little place called Langworthy's, she was so cumbersome. With a booty like that she knocked everything off the table. She ended up getting fired' to me I felt they did her wrong !!!
It was the Lantern Motel, he smacked her on the ass like that... Luckily his sister was there. I didn't give a F[EXPLCIT]'n... like that... You don't treat a lady like that !!!
Know I miss Anna like that ; she had a booty like that. She was clumsy like that... But I always used to tell her, you don't have to share you're tip's like that.

Song: That Girl Who Waits On Tables
Lyrics
I watch her picking up their tips off the tables
And see them smile as she brings another round
That dress she’s wearing shows she’s a woman
And reminds i once had what they want now
That girl who wait on tables used to wait for me at home
And she waited till all her love was gone
I’m too late, but I still worship
The floors she’s dancing on
That girl who waits on tables used to wait for me at home
I see her play in that old jukebox with their dimes
It’s a song about a fool who did her wrong
And I’ll wait for her again til closing time
But when she goes home tonight, I’ll be alone
That girl who wait on tables used to wait for me at home
And she waited till all her love was gone
I’m too late, but I still worship
The floor she’s dancing on
That girl who waits on tables used to wait for me at home
That girl who waits on tables used to wait for me at home!
