Im an hsts who started transitioning at 13 in 2016 and i can say the medical community, speaking of affirmative care has mistaken autogynephilia and body dysmorphia as gender dysphoria. I appreciate the information on this channel loads, trans rights aren’t helping all trans people. Ive been so rushed into things and pushed into female spaces im not comfortable in have no interest in and don’t belong in. I mean the amount of times ive had to insist for people to just leave me alone and not use me as a political pawn assuming how I think in the process is just ridiculous. Thats all not mentioning the difficulties medically
Oh man I’m so glad to hear this from your perspective. I bet it’s taken a lot of introspection to realise and I appreciate you sharing it. The woke crowd fetishise trans ppl to a real fucking unhealthy point 😬😬😬
I am so so sorry you've had to experience so much. I am therapist and am absolutely horrified with the medical/psychiatric response. In my opinion as a human and trained it is negligence and extremely harmful and I can see this ending in the medical controversy of the century causing so much trauma and destruction.
@@baroquefiddle4790 i really think it can too, and thats coming from someone whos happy with transitioning but yeah affirmation therapy was not the way to go for anyone.
@@scarletsinclair8171 thank you for your opinion, its really lovely to hear from someone who experienced it and still happy, I wish you the best with your life
You are amazing, thank you thank you THANK YOU for this video. As a lesbian who has been branded a TERF for refusing to date trans-identifying males and refusing to agree that a penis can be a female sex organ, every scrap of support from my LGB community is astronomically important to me. I hope more men continue to speak out on this subject, as they seem to get heard a lot more readily than we do.
Yes yes yes, I hate to admit it, but it's so unfortunate that people on average would rather listen to a man saying the exact same "transphobic" things we "terfs" say and will be taken more seriously. Still, I will continue to be a "terf" and fight for women's and LGB rights.
This topic gets almost zero attention on my Facebook. Most people have no idea of the extent that lesbians are losing spaces and the integrity of their 'identity'.
rainbow kitty I’m a bisexual woman and I disagree with you. I think Trans people should be able to have just as much support as other members of our community. Throughout history LGBT has been a sort of solidarity between Same gender attracted people and people with dysphoria. The dysphoria also makes transgender biological as well. I do agree that it’s unfair that lesbians are getting shoved aside for “wokeness” and that some radicalists are calling you transphobic for not dating them. It’s a preference and everyone should be able to express that preference. I’d recommend you check out Blaire White, who is a trans woman but she calls out that kind of disgusting behaviour within the trans community.
Absolutely spot on. The phenomenon that concerns, me as a parent of a gay male, is school indoctrination that he may be born in the wrong body. Like a lot of “feminine” gay males he doesn’t conform to sex stereotypes 100%. Telling him he may be really a “girl” has hugely destabilised his self acceptance, That’s why, in the UK , I support LGB Alliance which formed to protect same sex attraction. We also have new parent groups in the U.K. rejecting medicalisation (puberty blockers ) for our gay youth. Referrals to our Gender Identity clinics has increased to 4000% for girls. We now have detransitioned women who realise they were simply lesbians. Boys referred has also increased at well over 1000%. As parents we have had a lot of support from adult transsexuals who feel their pathway should be an adult choice. They also fear a backlash. Superb watch.
Excellent comment. Well said. Your son is very lucky to have such a supportive mother, looking out for his wellbeing and body integrity in the face of this dangerous phenomenon. It breaks my heart what this young generation of gays and lesbians is being put through because of the egos of heterosexual males with paraphilias. And it breaks my heart that so many on the left are too cowardly to speak out about it.
Thank you for truly supporting your son as he is without creating doubts that his body is wrong or that not conforming to the bullshit that is gender makes him a girl.
I remember simpler times when ribald, locker room jokes "I am a lesbian too, I love women" or "I'm a lesbian trapped in a man's body" were just that - bad jokes usually cracked by man-pigs. And now it's practically a whole ideology. Mindboggling.
thanks for this. I am a Grass Widow, divorced from trans woman for 20 years. I was at home mom, got discriminated against in divorce process. I had to have put into divorce stip that I am the one known as the mother of our children. She tried to erase me. And now the grown sons are saying I am transphobic for talking about how I was lied to and the money disappeared, I didn't have one wardrobe, much less 2.
There are many people with your experience sadly. Obviously your ex has gotten to your sons or they have fallen for the cult speak and forget how much was lost in the divorce and blame you for it. This kind of abuse has to stop
it's so important that these matters be discussed civilly and eloquently and without the bile and self-righteous hatred the TRA camp is so fond of. i'm astounded at how good this video is!
Where is the bile and self-righteousness in wanting equal treatment? I mean, trans people put their lives on the line during the Stonewall riots for all our rights. The least we could do is support their basic human dignity as well.
@@fabian2441 no they weren’t? Trans people have always been at the forefront of the lgbt movement because we are often conflated with gay people. I'd realized that most of the demands made by TRAs these days were about expecting other people to do things for them, but it hadn't fully clicked that ALL trans "rights" hinge on the "right" to be perceived as something they are not. Thank you for such clear reasoning.
@@FlawedbyDesign777 How? I could demand that I have the right to be perceived as something I am not. Say an owl. Or a cat. Or the Queen and demand all the respect, titles, etc that the Queen gets, as well as her properties and wealth. If your immediate reaction to any of the above is "That's ridiculous, you cannot say you are any of those and expect to be treated as such" then welcome to the the team that **opposes** transgender activist **ideology** because that is PRECISELY what transactivism is demanding: That someone who is one thing eg male, can demand and expect that everyone else agrees and affirms that they are female simply because he apparently **perceives** himself to be female - the opposite sex. And 99.9% of the time, with no real effort to live the life of the opposite sex. (Note: Transexuals from years ago, had to prove they were living as the opposite sex, to fit in as far as they could. They are feeling betrayed by this ideology). All of the above is compelled speech. Its dictating how others are to be seen in the face of everything saying otherwise. That is authoritarian, it is science denying (like those who say that Climate Change doesn't exist and that the Earth is Flat!). Its denying reality which is a real thing.

THANK YOU! We need more men speaking out on the trans issue. Women/lesbians are not taken seriously (to put it mildly). In fact we're abhorred and ridiculed from all sides: conservative, liberal, trans, incel, religious, atheist, Black, white, antifa, Proud Boys and so on. We're politically and culturally homeless at this point. They've come for the lesbians and are coming for gay men's spaces next. Perhaps they'll have to come for straight men before the outrage will reach a true peak, but I appreciate voices like yours :)
Gay Rights was about getting Government/Law OUT of your life, to allow you to just get on and live the life you chose, with who you chose. Trans Rights appears the complete opposite, they seem to want MORE Government intervention/Laws, e.g. (i) compelling others' speech, (ii) legally permitting AGPs, or any self-identifying Man, into Women's protected spaces, (iii) dis-allowing others' dating/genital preferences
I think the core difference is that homosexuality is an inborn and immutable characteristic. You can't stopped being homosexual, you can't remove it. Gender identity, on the other hand, is in the mind. It comes from the outside and stems from gender stereotypes. People detransition because no one is born in the wrong body. The gay movement worked hard to make society understand that some people are born same-sex attracted and cannot be changed. Science supports this.
I hope someone can answer. I didn't finish the video, but didn't see addressed --what about when a child who sees him/her self as the other gender? That's not about how others see them but about how they see themselves. Sometimes they switch back and forth in their self view, but what about when they don't? Isn't it then about them becoming more physically who they see themselves as (via hormones, dress) than how others see them? Or maybe it's a bit of both. Also, there are some people who have transitioned to such a degree no one would be able to tell they were born the other gender. In that case they are not Trying to convince anyone of anything, because they are convincing already. They are living that life.
@@sheenak3733 Arty seems to me to be specifically referring to the Gay Rights movement and what it aimed/aims for and the Trans Rights movement currently and what they're aiming for (legally, mainly). And how they differ/ compete. His views on this video, to me, do not really affect nor seek to affect a child behaving more masculine or feminine (as traditionally viewed). RE the second point you make about a highly convincing transsexual person... Surely that person has by definition "convinced" people they are actually the opposite sex to which they were born? If they werent born that way but now live it - they have had some kind of work/treatment/change/journey to get to the point where they can "live that life" now? It didnt just happen miraculously because they thought it in their heads did it? I would recommend watching the rest of this video. I thought it was a good explanation of the different movements
This is a very clear and precise explanation. Thank you! New subscriber here. That said, Lesbians have been saying this for decades! It is clear that women aren’t listened to. A very important thing to understand is that Lesbians do not consider trans identified males to be Lesbians - ever. Sure, we will call them “she” reluctantly , if they insist, but we never see them as Lesbian. I’m just being honest here. Because of the pressure from the trans community and the shame they attempt to put on Lesbians and gays, it’s hard to accept them fully. So we are nice but we don’t feel comfortable. It is an unspoken truth within the Lesbian community that while we are usually nice and accepting of trans identified males, we are truly never attracted to them. Lesbians are female born women who are attracted to other female born women and usually only wish to date other female born women. As hard as that is for male to female trans to accept, it is the truth. Lesbians are not attracted to male to female trans, as these particular people are still “straight” in their brain and act like how they were socialized when they grew up as male: pushy, insistent, dominating, argumentative, and too aggressive when attempting to pick up on Lesbians as sex partners. As a result, Lesbians do not find that attractive - especially if they still have any sort of male characteristics. So, it’s that very reason we are having an issue with men who identify as women and then insist they are Lesbian. Lesbians don’t want to be with men. Ever. Even if they’ve transitioned to their version of being female. It’s the biggest health hazard that Lesbians deal in their lives - having to maneuver in the world with males with mostly horrible boundaries. This includes trans identified males who demand we call them Lesbians. Perhaps, if the trans community presented themselves in a less abusive or insistent way, allowed people to take their time in understanding them, and listened to those of us who are expressing our boundaries with not being sexually interested in them, they’d be accepted in certain communities. Still, trans identified males who say they are Lesbian will never be considered within the Lesbian community, no matter how hard they try. As long as they are literally threatening Lesbians on social media with rape and in real life - for not dating them and then staying in a murderous rage, they definitely won’t be accepted. And generally speaking, Lesbians will never really want to date male to female trans. As much as they may hate that, it’s just reality. It makes complete sense for male to female trans to date other trans, if they want to date women. And for the record, men cannot be Lesbians. No matter how much they aggressively insist. It is impossible. No you are not a Lesbian trapped in a male body. Males who say that just have a dysfunctional fetish. Thank you for creating this “container” for us to logically speak about these issues. I just hope that perhaps some of the trans identified males will understand this, not take it so personally and respect Lesbian’s boundaries. I truly hope trans people can all figure out how to heal their trauma in a positive and empowering way for them, instead of infringing upon other people’s way of life. But I believe they should also go where they are accepted instead of attempting to force their way into a community that simply does not engage sexually with men or trans identified men. This is about having healthy boundaries. We all just want to be understood in the end and have our boundaries respected.
Agree but wanted to add that it's a mistake to address males as "she". This blurrs the lines of what a woman is and emboldens these men to push their way past our boundaries.
@@JS-tv8sf hi JS - thanks for your comment. I wrote this two years ago, when we were still having to tread very lightly around the trans issue. So I don’t think it was a “mistake” 2 years ago, as Lesbians were being verbally attacked and threatened by TIMs. Since then, many of them have either detransitioned or have realized that they have a mental illness with dysphoria. That said, I agree with you that we should not call males “she”. However, I don’t know if you’ve ever been in the social presence of a trans identified male? It’s impossible to say “he” when referring to them to their face. And they’ve got the “woke LGB” also defending the illusion. So I say “they” in person. Or I attempt to not be in the presence of a trans, if I can help it. That said, after 2 years, the community and even the Christian-right community has joined the common sense ranks (never in my life would I ever think I’d agree with somebody identified in the Christian right!). As a result, the definitions are slowly swinging back to the pendulum of reality. They are indeed, straight men, with a mental illness so horrific, they’re willing to carve up their bodies and bully Lesbians, in an attempt to manipulate women who only date Lesbians, into having sex with them. Basically, they’re fetishists and manipulative rapists, and they are very ill. They need help. That’s my current definition.
Hi Arty! I'm a desisted woman and I want to share my experience of gender dysphoria. You're so right when you talk about how gender non-conformity can lead someone to want to transition. I knew I liked being masculine in certain ways: short hair and no make up, being attracted to females (I am bisexual). But I was pained by my masculinity because of societal rejection. I was called a homophobic slur at one point. I was excluded because I was not a feminine girl. I was so uncomfortable and sad in my masculinity because I knew the world didn't want me this way. That discomfort is exactly what gender dysphoria is. I started to believe I was a man (with some help from trans blogs on tumblr). Now I understand that believing that I was male was easier than facing the truth that I am a masculine woman and society will not always be kind or welcoming to me. I still have a hard time dealing with that fact. But I would rather face the truth and not try to hide my true self: just an often masculine/androgynous bisexual woman.
@MilkyWayDeluxe it’s also what the majority of girls who transition are experiencing today. We need to tell our non gender conforming sisters that they’re gorgeous women and loved deeply too.
God bless you. One day we will burn these boxes that have ruled over how women and men can present and be welcomed in our society. I'm a straight feminine woman and I love and support my masculine sisters. God bless you and may you find comfort and love on your life's journey.❤
Found you from Benjamin Boyce. I'm astounded you don't have 1000 subscribers yet! Thanks for making people like me who just want to be able to date biologically gay men without being considered a bigot feel validated.
What a clear and erudite speech on the fundamental problems with the rise of ‘Trans Rights’ activism and the impact it has had on society as a whole, most especially the LGB community. Thank you Arty. Fabulous.
Thanks so much for this. Three years ago I wasn't thinking deeply about these issues and I sort of lazily conflated trans rights with gay rights. Now I understand the difference. You've explained it very well here. I hope you get 5 million views! Oh, now you just reminded me of my favorite phrases from Paul Wheaton: "It is good to want." It's a great response to unreasonable demands. (Yes, it's good to want things. Hopefully that desire inspires you to work towards your goals, but I ain't giving things to you just because you want them. Want away, enjoy the inspiration.)
Thank you for this video. Many agree both are separate issues and people should stop conflating them. LGB fought for acceptance while trans are trying to take over or change the definition of words and impose on already define spaces. Over the years, many people have become more accepting of the LGB movement but it’s unfortunately the trans movement is willing to set back LGB rights for their selfishness demands.
I am Kesha K What’s so selfish about wanting equal rights and not to be bashed? Isn’t that just what gays wanted? Were gays also being selfish for wanting the exact same things.
I was so glad to find this video. You are such a great communicator! In my psychology classes, we learned that research shows men and women have the same brains. There are no inherent differences between our personalities or hobbies. The brain is like any other organ both men and women have. There are more personality differences between men as a whole or women as a whole than there are between men and women. The whole idea that our brains are different came around as “proof” that women aren’t as good as men. The same way that people used to say black peoples’ brains were different from whites (they aren’t) which somehow made them “inferior” and “unintelligent.” I’ve felt that sometimes, the trans movement solidifies stereotypes of men vs women. It’s easier for society to accept a smart, assertive, athletic woman as a man than it is to accept that she can be all of those things AND a woman. I’ve also talked to trans that, without meaning to, say things that trivialize women’s experiences of sexism. One of the trans women I know that had taken estrogen shots and gotten implants said, “now I know exactly what it’s like to be a woman because my boobs are always getting in the way. Life as a woman is so hard.” She also posts tons of extremely sexual photos of herself as a woman and says things that reinforce the idea that women are sex objects. There was no recognition that men who transition to women don’t have to grow up with being silenced, ridiculed, sexualized, and mocked. As a boy growing up, no one told him to go to the kitchen and make a sandwich when he had a good point in an argument. No one cat-called him on the street as he walked or told him he wasn’t as smart as boys. He got to grow up with the entitlement of boys and men. When I was 14, I stopped eating ice cream cones for years due to a couple of older men that yelled sexual comments about me when they saw me licking the ice cream and I felt so uncomfortable and ashamed. Men also have difficult experiences growing up due to stereotypes, but they aren’t told they are inferior to the other sex or that their only value is their body. So, to me, there is a disconnect there. Yet, when I try to express these ideas, like you said, I’m called a TERF or a trans-hater. Thank you for creating this video and giving us a space to talk about this. ❤️
Arty I don't know how you've been able to gain such insight as an outsider. I've been thinking about these issues (also as an outsider) for a long time and have been unable to come up with a framework that is as productive as yours. It hit me what if I, as a 60 year-old man, insisted that I be perceived as a 20 year old, and demanded access to the 20-something dating market? I think they used to call that being a creep!
thank you, thank you, thank you for speaking out!! While lesbians and other women have been banging on about this for years..of course, no one listens to us and it’s imperative that principled men like yourself speak out. Of course, this not about being “anti” anyone..I can unconditionally respect a persons humanity while rejecting that a penis is a female sex organ.
I don't think you're right. People *have* been listening to you, and that's why, after many years of pushing by many women and a few men, this is now being taken seriously. I don't think anybody would pay much attention to gay men like me and Arty, or straight men like Graham Linehan talking about this stuff, if there were not a groundswell of female opinion in the same direction.
You are extremely well-spoken, and everything you said was correct...as well as articulated in a manner that anyone with a right mind could get behind. Thank you for this informative video.
I couldn't agree more with your opening statement, and I'm a hetero man with gay, lesbian and trans friends. (I'm just a friendly guy.) Please allow me to comment going through. The bit about validation. I think that's a huge issue. I've never in my life known a gay or lesbian who required me to lie, ignore a basic and fundamental biological truth, or pretend anything, really. But does not trans validation require a fundamental suspension of a particular reality? Which in itself, narrowed down to a basic degree of sensitivity, may be acceptable, except that I find that suspension of truth becomes ever-expanding. Why would a lesbian be interested in a male bodied person? Why would this demand not be coercion? Is not the end result a narrowing down of prospects? (Trying to imagine what may or may not work, and with whom, and why.) Fascinating. The idea of taking biology out of the equation altogether. I've witnessed far more barking about biology within the hetero community, and never really considered it from a gay or lesbian perspective, but of course it is just as prescient. One thing I'm picking up from this loud and clear, is that attraction has laws. Whatever the attraction might be, those laws don't lie. Rooted in biology, hormones, and all the rest of our physiological makeup - that makes it so, and makes it work. So how exactly can that be artificially manufactured? About athleticism. Although I've fantasized for years about the idea that the first woman to break the barrier in major league sport would be a long tall rangy woman with a good grip on a baseball and just a wicked trick pitch.......I've been pondering male bodied athletes competing in women's sports for one of two reasons. For validation? Or simply to win. A deeply sarcastic scope says it's the latter. Denial of reality. I keep thinking of all the people I've known in my life (of every persuasion imaginable) who have fought like tigers to hang onto reality - to keep a firm grip on what allows them to participate in society at large, to be able to enjoy life as it is, the world as it is, natural laws as they are, and have the greatest number of choices and freedoms to be themselves and participate in society. The opposite of that for too many unfortunates, is a disconnection from reality that closes all these things down. In the most extreme cases, institutionalization, medication, and some form or other of giving over control to others. That's a lot to lose. But I don't think anyone wins that back by convincing the rest of humanity to play make believe on their behalf.
It's insane how this days we are surprised to hear someone saying things that should be considered common sense. I don't mean to sound cliché, but these days common sense has become a tabú.
Thankyou so much for this video. Over and over again I try to explain this to people. So many of us do. Everyone needs to watch this video. I’m so frightened for the future if this so called modern Trans movement gets its way. Also, speaking of less testosterone in the womb, (which I had no idea that was a fact!) my mum had three boys and me and my youngest brother is gay. Wow! Learnt something new today!😂
Frightened for the FUTURE if trans people have CIVIL RIGHTS against discrimination? Do you people even hear yourselves? What a bunch of bigots. It's not surprising. Last decade it was gay people discrimination against bisexual people. Now you have to lord over trans people like they're stealing your rights.
@Punkin' Spice A. clearly you do not know what a strawman is, and B. I watched the full video and saw the full effect of the representation of bigotry in the LGBT community. So unfortunate but it seems that gay men and fake feminists have now banded together to shame transfolk. Whatever. Transfolk do not need your permission to exist.
Great video. I got here via Benjamin Boyce and I just wanted to say I hope you continue this series. There's a story to tell about how LGB organisations adopted the T to become LGBT. Indeed a huge amount of resources are going into the T. I'm thinking especially of Stonewall and the LGBT Foundation in the UK. In these matters you always have to follow the money. Another story might be the prevalence of cross-dressing functionally bisexual males on Swinging Apps/Websites. Anyone doubting the existence of autogynophilia would recognise it all over the photo sections of these apps. Another topic would be gynocentric culture. I'm only saying this because of a couple of the comments you made about women in the Boyce interview and I thought this might be another nut to crack. Keep up the good work and best wishes.
I think Sir Quentin Crisp said in an interview in his 90's that suddenly he is perceived as trans. It's strange. I was accused of transphobia as a gay man even though I was always supportive of the community, I just don't see what is hateful or discriminating about J. K. Rowling's statements.
Ah, yes, retconning. I had a telephone conversation with Sir Quentin about two weeks before he died, passing on a message when I was in Manhattan from a young friend of his in California. He was most delightful.
Totally agree. A very small group, tiny, are now dominating gay issues and voices. Gays and trans are 2 very separate groups. It's odd as a large percentage of trans want to transition in order to live a heterosexual life style. Sure gays supports the rights but then most part ways.
This is one of my favorite videos of yours. I have saved it to a playlist in which I keep videos that can explain what I’m trying to say in a more eloquent way than I ever could. There’s a few people in my life who I am trying to get to see this for what it is, but they are so convinced that this is all just an extension of gay rights, that they are unable to see the truth. The next time it comes up in conversation, I’m just going to send them these videos. Thank you so much for what you do! 🤗
The word trans even, it is a PREFIX to another word ; so hell knows what is incorporated within the meaning. *Gaslighting everyone !? Transgression ; Legal Deception.
This is really useful and spot on. My housemate has been claiming trans rights are the new gay rights and it has made me feel guilty about my growing concern about the gender ideology debate. She is gay and is very passionate about being part of the LGBTQ community so I've been finding it hard (as someone who's not part of the LGBTQ community) to articulate how it's different. I just want to remove gender stereotypes, for people to be safe in expressing themselves in whatever way they want and to love whoever they want.
If you remove gender stereotypes, Trans would cease to exist because it relies solely on the belief that "gender" (Aka "Gender expression") is an innate thing. That's the joke about the ideology. But it's not surprising your friend has drank the Trans kool-aid because she's a Lesbian and lesbians have been getting it the worst by these trans activists.
First time seeing this one. Have been watching you with Graham. This is the clearest elucidation of the dilemma of being gay and progressive that tortures me no end in this era of trans. I am not hopeful though. This kind of crazy is insidious and requires an integrity and critical commitment to critical commitment that simply is not profitable. I am in despair.
Technically, trans people who are either gay, lesbian, or bisexual have always been part of the LGB community. Focus changed and resources were diverted away from gay and lesbian issues less than a decade ago
@@JohnBuckWLD That is true. They have always been there and fought alongside the rest of us. I had a trans friend there in the city at that time. Never meant to imply they were irrelevant.
Agree with all of this. Trans people, get your own movement - if you can. Your fundamental principles are specious at best and you are damaging lesbian lives with your bullshit.
Transsexuals are a small percentage of the population - that activists among them have garnished so much publicity is impressive. Transsexualism may resonate because at its heart, the discussion is partially about the nature of reality. Is reality simply understood as an opinion based on feelings and assertions or is there more to it than that? Trans Activists declare Transexuals are real women or real men. Try as they may, men who transition to women cannot menstruate, get pregnant, have babies, experience menopause, or breast feed like biological women. For females who transition to male, they cannot father children, ejaculate sperm, possess functional testicles or a natural foreskin, and shave without consuming testosterone. There will always be a hollow ring to their claims of authenticity. No matter how many drugs, or how much plastic surgery one endures, can those born male become real female and vice-versa? And does it matter? If you have a sex change and find someone (or a line up) who wants to bang you, and shower you with affection, what could be better? Still it will be interesting to see how Elliot Page (formally known as Ellen Page) makes out now that she has undergone a mastectomy and is receiving testosterone injections. Will the Woke of Hollywood support her or will she be seen as a box office risk? Should an intact 56 Trans woman who identified as a 10-year old girl be permitted to compete in girls sports? Are JR Rowling and Martina Navratilova off the mark?
Great video, very well thought out and articulate. I would make one correction: there is no sex restrictions in professional "men's" sports. If you are good enough you can make it, that there are no women just shows how much of a difference there is physiologically between the two sexes.
@@stho9459 Did you read the whole sentence? He said “in professional men’s sports.” Meaning that women don’t try to get into men’s sports because there are OBVIOUS physical differences. With rare exceptions, women would lose because of vast physical differences between the sexes. Men joining women’s teams, on the other hand, gives them massive advantages in height, weight, strength and endurance, which is _why they do it_ - so they can WIN. Most of theses men in dresses who join women’s sports teams simply aren’t good enough to compete against other men.
Congratulations on a wonderful video that sums up this issue. Are you afraid the transactivists will come for you? Like they did for Selina Todd, Posie Parker, Maya Forstater, Maria McLachlan, Suzanne Moore, Graham Linehan and others? Thank you!
i think anyone who is not hurting anyone should be treated well. but as a gay person i don't want to be associated with trans. it has nothing in common
Thank you, Arty. I found your channel through Benjamin Boyce. You expose the big trans demand on society so clearly. I wish the ACLU followed your line of thinking and protected girls/women’s sports rather than fighting for boy’s/men right to call themselves female and silence the biological women who call foul.
Arty, within the past 6 months I recently became aware of the extent to which the trans phenomenon has devolved in the past 10 years or so. As a gay man myself, it is frustrating to see gay rights/acceptance co-opted and flipped on its head to promote trans surgeries on minors, men competing in women's sports, and even undermining gay people themselves. Your interview with Dr. Az Hakeem was great. Your summary here is so sensible and well articulated. I am looking forward to watching the rest of your content here. Thank you!
Hey Arty, I just wanted to reach out and say I can't believe the the flack you're getting from some people in the community. I've watched almost every The Mess We're In and your contribution has made such an impression on me and helped me understand so many aspects to this movement. Your voice is so valued and I can't understand that anyone would question your care for women or girls. Best to you.
Yes. I am also appalled to see the GC movement eating itself. Arty is a wonderful member of the movement. Diversity of opinion should also be respected within a movement.
You're going far and wide my friend. Woo hoo! Just saw that Benjamin Boyce got you to do an interview. I'm so pleased and I feel like I discovered you! :)
Thank you so much for this, it's been so confusing because my heart wants to go out to people but this T movement has just been so much more vitriolic. This has helped me form a better opinion since I am not a part of (but not against) the LGB
Did ya know in other countries when trans people are oppressed, they are charged with "attempting homosexuality?" So yea, gay rights are the main issue we should focus on
Again I am very surprised to hear it's like this, as someone who are currently 18 & have tried to seek & come out as trans since at least 13 years old(just kept it to myself earlier than that). I have not experienced this before. I've only learned & seen trans characteristics & gay characteristics as each their things. I've read, learned & heard about them independently & I don't see how anyone could as much think to use gay or gay rights as a base for what they want to say or express in being trans or trans rights. It is not the same & I thought it was obvious...
there isn't! If I have time I'll try to make one but I don't know if I'll have that kind of time. What about TH-cam's caption feature? can't that maybe approximate a transcript?
sex based spaces (shelters, prisons, bathrooms, change rooms, locker rooms, etc), organizations, sports, events, scholarships etc must be protected. All sex based rights must be protected and not confused with gender identity. Statistics need to be done on the basis of biological sex ..... Create 3rd spaces, all gender spaces, for trans etc people or for anyone that want to use them. ...... Trans identified male people should not be appearing in magazines for adult females (women), getting scholarships established for females etc is unfair and just wrong. Lesbians are biological females who a re attracted to other biological females .... males can not be lesbians, regardless of how they change their appearance! The definition of woman is adult human female. Trans identified males can change their appearance, wear what they want etc, and live their lives how they want, but they are not women.
There are many non binary trans who do not care about the perception of others. to me trans rights is about having disphoria. I do not desire women's spaces or women's bodies. Trans rights to me is about recognition of my difference of either not being straight or gay. I was indeed born this way.
As a woman and mom of sons and daughters, I really appreciate your emphasis on the need to keep protected spaces for females. You articulate these issues very well, there is a fundamental difference between "live and let live" and forcing an ideology onto others. Super interesting tidbit about the birth order of sons btw. My grandfather actually had a trans sibling, I believe he was the 3rd boy, my grandfather the 4th and last a daughter. My dad is the youngest of 5 kids, 3 boys and he's absolutely the most masculine, but he's an aries 😂🤪
Hey, brother. Your voice is a new one to me but instantly gained my respect for its sensibility. Sensibility is something lost to most people these days. Myself included sometimes. I make it a point now to listen to good people with a good head on their shoulders
This is one of my favorite videos you've made. I love your deep lean into philosophy and your way of laying out the underpinnings of the many issues around "Trans". It's such a mess ("Trans", not your arguments). So many pieces of the puzzle. So many rabbit holes! You do help break it all out. Are you a Virgo? ; ) Anyway, thank you so much for your work. Please don't stop making your own videos! It seems like forever since you've had a new one...A
I'm having an discussion about this with someone who is stating that homosexuality and transsexuality are tied together necessarily because both are just versions of sexual divergence, LGBT+ isn't about sexual attraction at its root. This person states that the whole movement is at least partly based on how "others" perceive them. I disagree, but I am very interested in your response to that idea. xoxo
@PeaceLoveGoddess I've never felt like a woman, I like my body the way it is, I just dont like my female body parts. You're letting people get tattoos, why dont you tell them to love their body and embrace it without tattoos? Also, there are actual medical research on the trans topic, which proves it actually exists ^^
@@danielt6188 absolutely. I'm a trans gay guy, never feel like a female. And who that but would call me? A straight female? I never was. That's just doesn't work at all, at any points.
L, G, and B refers solely to sexual orientation. T refers to identity (nothing to do with sexual orientation). We are dealing with homophobia from the T because most T individuals are “straight” (by sex) and do not relate to the gay community. If you didn’t stick up for women when this all started, you can stick up for the gay community now. This is only going to get worse until more people stand up and it becomes less and less controversial to reclaim rights and privileges women and homosexuals have worked hard for.
I dont think marriage of gays was really tge same thing but i do agree that trans take their demands into the strait community to an unreasonable level. "SLG" forever. (I left the T off because they fit anywhere).
What about a teen hitting puberty and seeing themselves as the opposite gender? Trying to understand this. Some kids see themselves as the opposite gender and it isn't about how others see them as much as about how they see themselves.
I think the point he’s making is not that trans people don’t feel they’re the opposite gender.. it’s that one can’t necessarily expect others to see you the way you feel. Dysphoria that one feels inside, making their sexed body feel “wrong” to them, doesn’t erase their body or how it is understood to others. It’s the fact that some trans people demand that other people validate their identity (no matter what) that is problematic.
You really wanna get to the heart of it? TALK to these kids. Ask them why they think they are the opposite sex ("Gender" =/= Sex) and listen to what they say and I guarantee you that you'll see that with critical analysis, they are just confused.
@@KaiDecadence i'm not confused, I'm 31, and if you asked 12 years version of myself, why do I think I'm a boy, I would answer, that I feel that I must have a penis, and that feeling is so prominet, that without it I'll just commit a suicide.

I'm with you rainbow kitty!
@The Amazing BulkWe all have our crosses to bear. Don't hate on people for not playing along with your perception.

(i) compelling others' speech,
(ii) legally permitting AGPs, or any self-identifying Man, into Women's protected spaces,
(iii) dis-allowing others' dating/genital preferences
Very good observation!!
Really clear explanation of this difficult subject. ❤️

But I would rather face the truth and not try to hide my true self: just an often masculine/androgynous bisexual woman.
thank you so much for sharing your story.
@MilkyWayDeluxe it’s also what the majority of girls who transition are experiencing today.
We need to tell our non gender conforming sisters that they’re gorgeous women and loved deeply too.

I couldn't agree more with your opening statement, and I'm a hetero man with gay, lesbian and trans friends. (I'm just a friendly guy.)
Please allow me to comment going through.
(Trying to imagine what may or may not work, and with whom, and why.)
Fascinating.
This is great. I'm subscribing.
Me too!
As a lesbian I was having trouble articulating this. Thank you.
Thank you for this lucid explanation. Shared to Facebook. Let the TERF calling backlash begin.
Just subscribed. Thank you for standing up for lesbians and adult human females
Keep up the good work and best wishes.
thank you for speaking out for your lesbian sisters. solidarity and love to you x
What a great video! Your voice, tone, phrasing, and clarity of thought are all excellent. Just really well said, and this lesbian appreciates you.
He was most delightful.
gay rights: accepting yourself as you are
trans rights: attempting to become something you can never be
Computer User 666 oh, that’s so well put! :D

I agree with you one this. It’s pretty sad this is true. I’m gay and I feel this is getting a bit to far and I am getting uncomfortable.
PREACH
I'm an ally and I am so grateful for your brave voice. I'm so concerned for my gay and leabian loved ones.
Totally agree. A very small group, tiny, are now dominating gay issues and voices. Gays and trans are 2 very separate groups. It's odd as a large percentage of trans want to transition in order to live a heterosexual life style. Sure gays supports the rights but then most part ways.
found you via, Benjamin Boyce... loved that interview, and im enjoying your channel now as well... :) you have quite a gift... thanks!
Thank you for speaking up about this. Excellent video, you make very clear intelligent arguments, I am sharing it xx
Once again I'm reminded that this whole thing is a first-world set of problems.
sadly it is not. You will surprised to find how it is spread in many countries.
Excellent, thanks, Arty!
Beautifully presented arguments. This woman thanks you, Arty!
The thing about the fingers was so funny because my butch ass just realised I have man fingers (longer ring finger than index)
Excellent. I miss the days when it was just LGB. I'm willing to accept the T if it represents only trans people and not the activist side.
I bet those were good days...
Well done. Thanks for this.
Try as they may, men who transition to women cannot menstruate,
get pregnant,
have babies,
experience menopause,
or breast feed like biological women.
For females who transition to male,
they cannot father children,
ejaculate sperm,
possess functional testicles or a natural foreskin,
and shave without consuming testosterone.
There's no "sex restriction" in sports? Ok......
Yup.
Thank you!
I really enjoy your level headed take on these issues!
I wish I could like this video a million times! I agree soo much I appreciate you for this!
i think anyone who is not hurting anyone should be treated well. but as a gay person i don't want to be associated with trans. it has nothing in common
Arty are you on Twitter? You must go on Twitter! Although you would most likely be kicked off by the transpolice.
You got this vid shared by LGB Alliance
Thank you!
thank you!!! waaaa I'm so excited about the Benjamin Boyce interview! Can't wait til it goes live. xoxo

Spot on.
Thank you so much for this, it's been so confusing because my heart wants to go out to people but this T movement has just been so much more vitriolic. This has helped me form a better opinion since I am not a part of (but not against) the LGB
Great video. Measured, sane discourse.
Did ya know in other countries when trans people are oppressed, they are charged with "attempting homosexuality?" So yea, gay rights are the main issue we should focus on
Preach, Arty! I love your videos. You make so much sense, all the time. Keep it up!! Thank you!
Yes yes yes yes
Again I am very surprised to hear it's like this, as someone who are currently 18 & have tried to seek & come out as trans since at least 13 years old(just kept it to myself earlier than that). I have not experienced this before. I've only learned & seen trans characteristics & gay characteristics as each their things. I've read, learned & heard about them independently & I don't see how anyone could as much think to use gay or gay rights as a base for what they want to say or express in being trans or trans rights. It is not the same & I thought it was obvious...
You should read about the history of Stonewall.
This is a brilliant explanation and I thank you for it.
Is there a transcript?
there isn't! If I have time I'll try to make one but I don't know if I'll have that kind of time. What about TH-cam's caption feature? can't that maybe approximate a transcript?
Thank you so much for this video! I bet you're not called a TERF for this.
Another voice saying thank you Arty Morty!
sex based spaces (shelters, prisons, bathrooms, change rooms, locker rooms, etc), organizations, sports, events, scholarships etc must be protected. Lesbians are biological females who a
re attracted to other biological females .... males can not be lesbians, regardless of how they change their appearance! The definition of woman is adult human female. Trans identified males can change their appearance, wear what they want etc, and live their lives how they want, but they are not women.
I will buy you a coffee anywhere in Toronto but the catch is you have to have it with me.
Thank you Arty.
You're right and you should say it.
Well done
This is one of my favorite videos you've made. I love your deep lean into philosophy and your way of laying out the underpinnings of the many issues around "Trans". It's such a mess ("Trans", not your arguments). So many pieces of the puzzle. So many rabbit holes! You do help break it all out. Are you a Virgo? ; ) Anyway, thank you so much for your work. Please don't stop making your own videos! It seems like forever since you've had a new one...A
PS: Excellent video content mate!
I'm having an discussion about this with someone who is stating that homosexuality and transsexuality are tied together necessarily because both are just versions of sexual divergence, LGBT+ isn't about sexual attraction at its root. This person states that the whole movement is at least partly based on how "others" perceive them. I disagree, but I am very interested in your response to that idea. xoxo
Your videos are so up to the point always!
Very well put. Good job.
People don’t believe me when I say these things. Maybe you will seem more credible. Thanks for putting yourself out there.
I love your videos. One of the only youtubers that has rational but empathetic views on transgenderism that line up closely with my own.
Trans is a new trend I can't even figure out. I think when you see a group of young kids dressed in drag and not as a joke it's very concerning
LGBxiT
lol!
Arty Morty I sense a hashtag coming on.
I'm a trans man who is bisexual, and I dont expect anyone to date me, nor any more rights. I just want to live and not be fought against
@PeaceLoveGoddess I've never felt like a woman, I like my body the way it is, I just dont like my female body parts.
This a great articulate video. I wonder how long it will take for the TRA community to take this down and throw a lot of hate at you.
Very well said. I love all your videos!
Support for you Arty.
I have been saying this for a while. Most people think this is a gay rights issue. That's what makes it so problematic.
Personally, I think the videos of Oz the homekill guy are quite interesting.
I dont think marriage of gays was really tge same thing but i do agree that trans take their demands into the strait community to an unreasonable level. "SLG" forever. (I left the T off because they fit anywhere).
Trans rights is fashion rights and therefore gender stereotyping. That's it.
how is it stereotyping? Don't have a clue
@@Wasp239 The same question still applies. Why do you "think you are a boy"? How do you "Feel" like a boy?
In my opinion when you transition successfully, you CEASE to be trans, if that makes any sense...
