Franco Tan watching and commenting = interaction and views. Which makes videos more noticeable and more favorable to the algorithm. This can lead to even more views and engagement which can cause ppl to subscribe if they want to. A channels growth isn’t only shown or dependent on subs. Hence y there are small channels with views and like that are 5x more than their subs, and show up higher when you search for specific content lol

Hi Amanda! Up until recently I’ve been a blind Shane and Jefree stan, and man I gotta admit I turned a blind eye to their racism, problematic behavior and mediocre beauty products. They nailed down their marketing and branding to target easy to influence demographics like me (young white girls) and I fell for it. This came on my recommended at just the right time. Needless to say, I don’t support them anymore and never should have in the first place. As a result of being more informed (albeit Twitter) I’m trying to be more conscious of where my money and views go. Because hey, people like them don’t deserve to dominate the industry and get away with it. Especially making palettes that are ashy and not cohesive lmao. I can see how it’s easy to fall in the pattern of being complacent and complicit, but also how important it is to see past all the facade and support more worthwhile voices and creators.

One good thing to come out of Shane doing “documentaries” is seeing his actual true colors. He literally could make a difference with that platform, but he only wants to suck up to people like Jeffree and pretend that he is so poor and relatable. Shane and Jeffree both deserve each other. At least Jeffree is a true asshole, we know exactly what we are getting with Jeffree. Shane just hid everything better. Sammy Sweet i think this is the case with a lot of his subs. they subbed to him when they were in the fifth grade when he was big and forgot about it, which blows up his numbers artificially bc they don’t like him or watch him anymore. not to mention that a lot of people had different email addresses when they were younger and so now there’s probably no way for them to go back and unsub since the address and its password are long gone from their memory. it’s hard to believe that there are 16 million or however many shane stans out there currently, definitely sus

I remember the way I found out about Shane was bc there was a post on Tumblr showing him doing blackface. This was back in 2015, I believe. And even then he was so popular for the most mediocre content I'd ever seen. I was and I am surprised that wasn't enough for people to stop supporting them. And that was 4 fucking years ago.
On another note, I remember watching some video where he made a gross remark about Mexican Americans. He really just played it off by saying it wasn't a big deal bc most of the fans he'd meet were Mexican Americans... like, how does that give him any right to say shit like that??? He's trash. Period.

As a white teen who never thought about the possibility of jeffree being racist- I dont have Twitter either so I'm also ignorant on that end only knowing the things that have recently been brought up, however as soon as I herd about it I unsubscribed. Im happy I never waisted my money on any of his palletes, and I'd just like to say, up until I found everything out I was a passive watcher who joined sometime after the whole dramagedon shit was over, and as for Shane. Never found him funny or intresting and I'm certainly happy I never supported him, racisim aside though for a moment- the man's brand is having poor hygien to be relatable, nasty. It was an obvious cash grab with in my opinion nasty colors and an overal stupid theme. But anyways (sorry my lil rants over) to all black women and any other person who'd been warning us before, I am sorry and even more sorry we only knew after the fact like many were complaning about that always happens. This has really told me to listen more and do more background checks on who I want to buy from and support.

Looking back, i totally agree that a racist, child groomer shouldn't have gotten so much support on that collab in the first place but the fact that how hideous the palette itself was like fr, the color story didn't make any sense at all!! The shades didn't seem wearable , it felt like someone just handed that man-child some pigments which he abstractly mixed and placed together.

I feel the same way with Jeffree though. I am listening what people have to say on the history of racism with them but do we all truly believe that no one is capable of forgiveness? They don't say racist things anymore, and i like to believe that means that are not racist. Of course we'd never really know unless we were with them one-on-one IRL which is never gonna happen, but I think it's healthy to see people change as they get older. They've both apologized profusely, and not to say that that makes up for any of it, but it does shape out another pathway for creating content that does not include any racism. Now Jeffree literally sticks up for women of color to other giant makeup brands when they don't release enough shades in darker colors to be inclusive... how can that be the act of someone who is racist? So confused.

Can you please guide me to any receipts you have of them being bad recently? I’m pretty good at keeping up with this stuff, since I’m a sociology major and have tor research stuff like this a lot. If I’ve learned anything it’s listen to black women most of all (due to the fact that they typically receive the most inequality in terms of racism AND sexism). The fact that I’ve seen so many black women come out about not liking Jeffree and Shane makes me wonder why and definitely makes me thing that it should be listened to. I just personally have not seen anything since their apologies that were racist.

Then it clicked, it's because he's one in the same. How can you say you've "changed" and still profit off of racist shit? He also claims his stuff in the past was "edgy" humor and nothing more, the whole cat thing happened and NOBODY talked about there being a video of him making out with a DOG. And Jeremiah says he has "grown so much" and all that bs, while still being the same problematic and toxic person he's always been. The way they both can dance their ways around controversies is astounding.
