I work at Amazon & I can say it's there that ppl are stealing packages big time, so the whole place has gone through a change & now there are lots of cameras everywhere & drivers can't touch pallets on the floor that are being worked on. They have to stay at the dock door & can't engage with the workers that much.
So yeah they cut back on the clutter in the building to keep eyes on every employee movement to stop* losses & its paying off. Now going forward TH-camrs that know that special person that steal games from Amazon early to get lots of views are going to have a hard time now.

I contacted nintendo and walmart about this as I did get the cancellation email yesterday even though this isn’t reflected in the app. They pretty much said this was a bug and that it should still go through, but we’ll see.
Well If thats the case I might of jumped the gun. I saw order placed, and cancelled myself because I assumed it already wasn't coming. No big deal I caved and got it on the eshop maybe I get physical later.
It seems to be a USA thing here in the UK/EU as far as I am aware there haven't been any problems.
In Australia no problems too with Amazon. The only difference is they pulled the Nintendo digital codes games
My Amazon UK Order is holding, I don't know if this is only a problem in the Statea.
Walmart canceled my pre order in email last week. I pre-ordered from another retailer But it still wasn't canceled on Walmart app ....still charged my card and shipped it out on Wednesday May 22nd 2024 around 7pm

@@israelruiz8706it’s been the bestselling game on Amazon since preorders were up, so I’m fairly certain it’s the fact that they can’t meet demand on that website. I’m not sure about other websites/stores though (and it could be they don’t want the game to leak ahead of time like some of their games have recently)

That's what I'm thinking. There are now 120 million Switches in the wild and stores aren't able to order enough copies for the demand. In other words, they are a victim of their own success.

I’m just going to walk into Target or Best Buy after work and pick it up. Not going to be a problem. People made a big deal about Mario 3D All-Stars but that game was available in store for many months after release.

My pre-order is ok. Funnily enough I was angry at amazon not having copies a few months ago because I wanted to pre-order from there. So I pre-ordered at gamestop instead. I probably should thank amazon for selling out right before I ordered because I don't have to deal with this bogus.

Are we forgetting someone’s already leaked gameplay footage?
Some people forgot there was a scarcity problem on the first couple of weeks of release of another GameCube remaster last year. Metroid Prime was unavailable even though I had preordered it in person at a local GameStop. I think Nintendo has been underestimating the love from fans of classic GC games.
On a side note, Origami King would have been a killer classic if the battle system was like Thousand Year Door.
It's only in the US tho,which is very weird as well. I'm in Europe and my Amazon preorder is still arriving fine and dandy this thursday.
I’m going to be honest right now I always get physical copies on launch day because I was patient enough to wait it out until I get it myself & experience the game a month after the launch day & I get digital copies because it is always in the way so i have finished those game right away so I don’t have to replay them again & physical copies I always hold it to it until i finish that game & come back to this game on my Nintendo Switch game card holder

I think Nintendo isn't really scared if this game is leaked online because it was already available to steal for 20 years since it came out on Gamecube. These people are just cheap and think they are entitled on everything for free.
This isn't just a port, it's both a remaster and a remake, the game looks gorgeous and it's obvious developpers spent a long time to make the Switch version.
This game is making record sales on pre-order and the reason why physical copies are no longer available is because it's out of stock.
If they don't see breaking numbers of sales or sales peeking over the other top Mario games it's because of this 😡😞

Funny story, I preordered Thousand Year Door 20 years ago from GameStop when I was 11-12ish. GameStop hasn’t gotten my business in well over 10 years now but I figured for tradition sake, I went with GameStop this time and I’m glad. These are the only two games I’ve ever preordered in my life interestingly. Two preorders for the same exact game 20 years apart.
This canot have anything to have early dump leaks. They can take preorders,a nd ship them later.

I also had this game pre ordered through Amazon also had Luigi's Manison cancelled as well ended up pre ordering Through Best Buy it arrived today glad I didn't do Walmart as I don't drive so online is the only way for me to get games unless I want to go digital which I am def not a fan of. No explaination was given so I had to no choice gamestop is out since the one nearest me that was located in a mall closed in 2021. There is two others but not within walking distance from the train you are probably right I have had some games arrive early so I am starting to wonder if I should pre order through somwhere else.
30fps for a turn based rpg is never an issue. I'm thinking to keep the graphic fidelity to this point they couldn't run it at 60fps. Maybe they could've, but that would've required a ton of work plus it would delay to possibly 2025.
Would I have wanted 60? Of course. But I personally don't think it would make a difference unless you compare gc to switch version side by side. And I'm thinking, how different would the experience be? The game looks great and it looks to perform well at 30fps.
Isn't it more likely than Nintendo would want to continue to smrpg series and let's paper Mario keep doing what it's been doing for a while now especially since it's very unlikely to outsell origami king

They’re trying to force Walmart to keep there games in stores but also Walmart has broken street date early so many times and not just with Nintendo for example one time Walmart sent me a game 2 weeks earlier than they should have

I know it sounds insane or crazy to think this consequence would happen but I hope these pre order cancellations don’t ruin the sales for this game. Because I really want this game to sell super well so Nintendo knows that this is the gameplay style of Paper Mario that fans want.

I think with switch 2 their gonna start not releasing physicals the same day as digital . know people will hate that but, it keeps others from leaking games

It's highly unlikely that anybody is going to respond to this comment due to it probably getting lost in this section of hysteria, but I'll nevertheless post it in a attempt to dispel some confusion.
Walmart has not " cancelled " people's ORDERS. Nintendo is simply not allowing Walmart to preship copies of the game BEFORE it's release date, they'll only allow Walmart to ship copies to customers AFTER it's release date in order to ensure for a FACT that the game doesn't get leaked online, stolen, and then dumped online. Video game pirates excuse video game piracy with some of the most DUMBEST excuses, but I'm not going to get into that mess, plus that's another conversation altogether. I'm just sticking with the topic at hand. The order of Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door that was ordered for me is still active, again I repeat, ACTIVE at Walmart and showing as " placed ", so it's in a queue awaiting a physical copy whenever Nintendo sends them copies on or AFTER the release date, plain and simple.
So I repeat, Walmart nor Nintendo has COMPLETELY cancelled people's order of the game, they've only prevented the game from being shipped out early in order to combat scalpers, pirates, and street date breakers. CASE CLOSED.
Hopefully this gets sort out. Horrible decisions on nintendo’s part making harder to buy a game .
