"How are you GIJoe? Its seems to me that most of you are poorly informed about going of the war. They say nothing about correct explanation of your presence over here. Nothing is more confused, that to be ordered into war.... to die...."
Best main menu of all battlefield games and I have been playing the series since day 1. This will probably always be my favorite battlefield for the atmosphere and the fact that I was 16 when it came out. I would switch between playing this and SWG pre-cu all throughout 2004 and 2005. My PC couldn't handle BF2 when it was released.
just saw an episode of warehouse 13 where they played the song by Jefferson Airplan and i missed this game so much... damn you Dice give us bf vietnam 2
The best part of this game is running through a jungle and suddenly you hear surfing bird and it gets louder and louder and you know shits about to go down
What is the male voice after Johnson's speech? Is it someone singing or is it a moan from someone dying? I feel like being mixed with Johnson's speech and Hanoi Hannah's clips, there must be some sort of historical significance to it.
My idea is that it represents, briefly, the Hmong people. Or perhaps more broadly the Vietnamese civilians caught in the middle between "LBJ" and "Hanoi Hannah." Perhaps it is both singing and the dying moan of a suffering citizenry. As such, both sides overshadow the civilians, but as both LBJ and HH are reciting pre-written speeches - it is the brief chant/moan that comes off as most genuine and sorrowful.
"Our Government is united in its determination to take all necessary measures in support of freedom and in defense of peace in southeast Asia." -Johnson Aug 4 1964 - Report on the Gulf of Tonkin Incident
It's funny, cus this music is nostalgic for my mom, cus she was 14 when it came out, and it's kinda nostalgic for me cus i played bf vietnam when i was younger :D Kick ass game! Why can't no new games ever become so good :( They all feel plastic...
I liked the game unpatched, but then all these patches came out and changed everything :( Plus the radios don't work in vista I remember the good old days of playing :)

I haven't played 2142. I played the original battlefield, which was... funny, but actually quite playable and fun. I liked DC a lot, especially because choppres and planes had simple controls but were very demanding to master. I played the mod Forgotten Hope for years and years, and now im playing Forgotten Hope 2, which is unfortunately, also a tad plastic because its a mod for bf2.
First of all, I was quoting a line in the video of the menu, which you apparently didn't watch. Those words were originally stated by a North Vietnamese radio propagandist known as "Hanoi Hannah", and part of it was used in the menu for Battlefield Vietnam. Second of all... what?
Johnson's broadcast appeals to Americans only. Hanoi Hannah's appeals to any soldier. She is right with "Nothing is more confused, than being ordered into a war, to die." But I can't help but think about the hypocritisism as NVA soldiers were also ordered into war, to die.
lets honor people for what they are expected to do. for knowing what they're getting into and blaming non-patriots. thank you veterenas for your fight to aid the rich.
Our government, is united, in its determination, to take all necessary measures, in support of freedom, and in defence of peace, in southeast asia.

lol
GI Joe lol RIP
Yes, Democracy and Freedom gringo, Democracy and Freedom...
i spent more time at the main menu watching the video and listening to the music than playing the game itself haha, good memories :)
I did that too sometimes
Me to 😂
I love the sound bits they added in, it really adds to the atmosphere.

your helicopter fall from sky, like broken bird
1:24 damn thats actually terrifying. Also great timing with the music
If I'm not mistaken, the audio comes from Vietnam propaganda radio stations. The goal was to terrify.
@@ryanvaros8827we just told the truth , you amerikan obey the order and go to our country to die for nothin
clicking multiplay just pauses the video WTF!!!
someone help
works in any area on every yt video that is inside the video screen ;) just sayin
Ahh good times... I remember how much I used to play this game back in 05/06
I just had 'Nam flashbacks of 2005 playing this masterpiece.
A very lonely kid was looking at the screen, just listening the song in somewhere small in the world back then.
just saw an episode of warehouse 13 where they played the song by Jefferson Airplan and i missed this game so much... damn you Dice give us bf vietnam 2

The Matrix Resurrections trailer brought me here to sence this nostalgic feeling
look how simple it was ... and it was amazing
Great stuff, never get tired of listening to it.
fantastic upload, great track with the haunting tones of jeff airplane and hanoi hannah
Nostalgia
Back to the Matrix again.
The good old days
@Syn0pt1c "G.I. Joe" is slang for "American Soldier", the same way "Jarhead" is slang for "Marine".

I believe the campaign was just you playing against AI on multiplayer maps, just like BF1942. Beat one move onto the next.
Thanks, was looking for this.
Easily one of the best battlefield games.

G.I. Joe left the server.
Vietnam wins!
That's it? Hehe, glad you like it!

Dem memories man
@bycrr Lyndon B. Johnson, he was the U.S president at the height of the war.
First of all, I was quoting a line in the video of the menu, which you apparently didn't watch. Those words were originally stated by a North Vietnamese radio propagandist known as "Hanoi Hannah", and part of it was used in the menu for Battlefield Vietnam.
Second of all... what?
exactly!
nice vid
Sure thing!
I was there....... Playing the game
I just recorded the game menu, I don't have the song in mp3 or anything.
"our government, is united in its determination, to take all necessary measures, in support of freedom, and in defense of peace in southeast asia
Kissinger taking about bombing campaigns would of fucking made this menu
@deth2munkies No doubt, that movie had a good remix as well!
fav song from bf v :DDD
My god.. And I never played this game..
NEED A REMAKE IN PORTAL but with the soundtrack please... Just please Dice.
Who is the man talking 0:32
Lyndon B. Johnson
So I saw Sucker Punch, and all I could think of during the WWI scene was this.
@Syn0pt1c She is talking to American Soldiers to lower their morale.
@MexicanZombieKiller Yep, look her up: Hanoi Hannah
Came out of nowhere haha.
Великолепная игра
Johnson's broadcast appeals to Americans only.
Hanoi Hannah's appeals to any soldier. She is right with "Nothing is more confused, than being ordered into a war, to die." But I can't help but think about the hypocritisism as NVA soldiers were also ordered into war, to die.
Великолепная. Игра
@MexicanZombieKiller Lowering the soldiers' morale will make them not want to fight helping their enemy win.
nostalgy

i love the song it sounds so sexy lol..
do you think that soldiers think in war=die? they usually sacrifice their lives for ppl like you.
Man did I spend hours on this
@RenegadeFerret oh so the lady speaking is vietnamise?
@RenegadeFerret G.I. Joe is plastic toy soldier or what is it?
0:07 when you see alot of vietcong soldiers and you have a m60
and when you think you killed all the vietcongs but you realize they were hidden somewhere else
@RenegadeFerret why?
That's not Nixon , it's Johnson
Who are the male voice in this menu? And what he speak?
how did you get the remix of this song
Man, BF vietnam was the most plastic in the entire series, even more than BF2.
does this game have campaign or just sepparated missions
G.i = General Infantry. joe means average or common so gi joe means the common soldier
etymology of the word "G.I." is "government issue."
or ground infantry
Why she calls the president Johnson "G.I. Joe" ?? What does it mean?
dude u still play sf?
Are you serious? You calling this more plastic than 2142? -.-
The how can you say that this is the most plastic game in the entire series if you haven't played the entire series?
Hanoi Hannah is so much cooler than Grace Slick.
Battlefield > CoD Pick battlefield, im telling you cod sucks
