Hey Florida! I totally agree with you. I only bought Eagles for years and have since switched. About a year ago I got really lucky at a coin show and bought a tube for $520, other than that I’ve switched to gold and other coins. I’m actually heading to Detroit for a coin show right now and I’m buying a tube of kangaroos along with a quarter round Maple. Keep up the great videos
The Austrian Philharmonic is the coin I have the most of. I bought a tube of Britannia a while back and I have a few Silver Eagles. No Maple Leafs, yet. And I have a bunch of various rounds. I love the Buffalos. The Lacota Nation Bank is one of my favorites. I started by buy a few rounds at a time, but now I buy a tube or two at a time. I love silver ... and gold.
I started collecting silver coins and rounds a few months ago. My goal is to collect as many 1ounce options as i can find. I prefer govt coins but there are a lot of great rounds out there. I buy the coins in pairs. The rounds ill buy in pairs if it is a really cool idea. I look around every day online and local for the best price
Enjoy the deal. Makes a good story. I’ve bought eagles, Morgan’s and peace dollars from bank tellers for a dollar. Felt bad for the person who turned them in.
1. Canadian Maple 2. Perth Mint 3. KOMSCO - Korean Mint.... Love their silver medallions - I live in Korea... 4. Libertads 5. Somali Elephants 6. Philharmonics Actually I love all silver... Government minted coins, private rounds, semi-numismatic and numismatic coins...

It is getting difficult to make profit with premiums now way over $10. Got tired of this BS, sold my ASE and bought a Rolex. It is gaining value at a faster pace than silver and I get to enjoy it everyday!
I'm buying Britannia's lately and 10oz bars generic Germania 10oz bars ! I stack and collect in both mostly gold now . With every gold sale .I get a 10oz bar of silver !
I wouldn’t touch an ASE with a 10 foot pole right now. I think the best bets right now are 10oz bars, 1oz rounds and junk silver… just my humble opinion ✌️
As always the Gator 🐊 stacker offers good analysis. Without a doubt the Best Value in Sovereign coins is the Britannia’s hands down! Canadian Maple 🍁 leafs is rght behind that with Buffalo 🦬 rounds a close 3rd. I also love and the Incuse Indian rounds which are very cool 😎 as they look exactly like the old Gold Incuse Indian coins from the 1800’s
I have all ten ! I have been picking up a lot Krugerrand and Kangaroos ! SD Bullion usually has a pretty good special on random design Government issue Silver Bullion coins
Hey Buddy. Good to chat by email. Sorry we can't catch up on my trip to the States but I promise I will get to Florida soon. I'm one single coin off my stack of 15 of each year of the Kookaburra then I've got my goal as it goes with Aussie. My next priority is stacking 20oz of Gold. Then I'm switching to Brit silver.
Agreed. I support my country but the ASE’s are now too expensive. Britannia’s abs when the maples are on sale, they’re premiums were creeping up a month ago. Krug’s and rounds like your list plus the asahi ( not the buffalo ones) rounds too.
Brittanias are crazy underrated rn. You get the history and stability of the British gov't, amazing security features, and a breathtaking design all for a generic price.
Good info, thanks. Just wanted to point out that as far as I know, the US Mint is the only entity whose coins flip top to bottom. Private mints (rounds) and other countries all seem to rotate left to right to maintain the image right-side up. There may be some exceptions, but it's a good rule of thumb to follow when doing these videos. If it's not a US Treasury-minted coin, rotate on a horizontal axis to maintain that proper image every time. Happy stacking!
Yes I've collected Eagles for so long I flip a coin top-to-bottom to look at it and then I do that with Maple Leafs Britannias or other rounds and the image is upside down I cannot get use to it because I'm so use to the American Silver Eagle !! I'm glad you made that point LOL
This was a great overview, FS! I’m still hooked on doing a tube of Krugs each year since you turned me on to the simplicity of that coin in 2021. Maples, too, because I don’t have to use Air-Tites for them since there’s never the issue of milk-spotting. I’m half-way through finishing a tube of 2022 ASEs where I can find less of an outrageous premium. I never stacked when silver was below $20, so ignorance is bliss! 😭
I really need to purchase coin tubes. However, I refuse to buy from Amazon, because they have totally destroyed many businesses in our area. We have to drive 70 miles to get to a decent bookstore, and a great number of local family-owned businesses have gone under I agree with you about the Canadian Maple Leaf. It is beautiful, and quite affordable right now. .
I have tried hard to find alternative retailers other than Amazon too. There are many small book dealers online...Thrift books, Abebooks, etc. Yes, sad about the brick and mortar book stores, that used to be my favorite hangout when younger.
@@ewinmac3561 Most of the products can be tracked down to their companies. And it only takes a few minutes to find them. But I do so, miss browsing in local small businesses, and large bookstores.
I like the Morgan replica rounds as my low premium. The Somalia Elephant are my favorite low premium coin because of the changing image and no Queen. For a mid premium coin I like the Koala, it’s less expensive than ASE, the image changes each year and 300,000 max mintage allows the premium to rise as they age.
Excellent video Florida Stacker! Too bad the ASE premiums are so crazy these days! That security feature made by the sunshine mint really takes away from the aesthetics of the rounds.
I’m focused on filling tubes of the Maple and Krugerrand this year, but I’m thinking of adding the Noah’s Ark coin since the premiums seem to be low with some of the online dealers.
Great video! I agree with the strategy for the most part. I am so disappointed by the ASE II that I have actually stopped buying the Eagle completely. Add to that the rediculous premium and I may never buy one again. Unless one of the sovereign coins you showed are on sale, I now buy almost exclusively Sunshine Mint rounds. The decoder lens concept is awesome and I do have the lens. Hard to argue with great security and low cost! Not long ago I did pick up some Kangaroos on sale and I love them. I also have found some very good priced Britannia coins that I purchased also- so beautiful! Do you think the US Mint will ever go back to the classic Eagle? What a shame to abandon, rather than enhance this classic world coin! :-(
I used to buy Canadian silver dollars from banks daily at par. A decade later, I sold them in bags of a thousand for $17,000. No way am I going to buy them at today's prices.
In my amateur opinion, the best deal right now is the Britannia's (January 2022). You can get them for about $3.69 premiums at Monument metals. They are solid coins that are Internationally recognized, good looking, incredible anti-counterfeiting. There are some quality issues with milk spots and I wish they weren't soo polished. My favorite is Maples, they are the best looking coin. But the premiums on Maples and ASE are just too high to justify it. I don't want to pay $30 to $34 dollars when spot is $22-$23 dollars. From what I've seen, you don't get that premium back when you sell. Dealers will pay you a couple dollars back for ASE, but not 8 to 10. I think the Philharmonics are under-rated and don't understand why so unpopular. They are good looking coin.
I also wonder why the Philharmonics are not that popular. They are a beautiful coin and as a bonus they don’t have the evil queen on the back! What’s not to love about that?!
I just bought 25 Britannias the other day was a no brainer when I saw how much silver eagles are going for. Britannias are backed by the brm which has been around forever and ain't going anywhere and it's a superior coin.
Great video. Agree, the premium on American Silver Eagles is out of control. Although I have some in the stack, for regular purchases I go with whichever has the lowest premium at the time I am buying ... and usually the 1 ounce Britannia, Canadian Maple Leaf, Philharmonics, Kangaroos or Krugerrands. Only buy silver rounds when they are on sale. Well, except for the occasional John Wick silver rounds. Had to get a few of those.
Glad it was helpful! 2018 and newer Maples are a good coin for you considering your location. They are cheaper and you'll add more weight over the eagles in this high price time we are living through.
Started getting some silver eagles , nothing really special and getting rhe 90% every chance i get. I have a local coin shop i have become familiar with. Ur vids are great and very informative
Excellent summary with premium ranges! Nobody else lays out everything about the top 10 one-ounces so well. Would you do the same for 1 ounce generic bars?
I LOVE Aussie and Canadian 1/2 oz coins, and 1 oz coins, especially some of the “reverse proof” stampings. Britannia’s are pretty cool, too.Sunshine Mint bars and rounds are cheap and available. I also like to collect old bars from assay and mining companies and mints. Like Carson City stuff, and defunct mines. I AVOID pandas and ANYTHING from China.
What about really generic rounds from JMB or APMEX? Im new to this and started buying those for the low premium. Also some SilverTowne bars and Monarch bars because I really like the hand poured Monarchs. Have I screwed up by not buying any US or Canadian mint coins?
No, you have not screwed up! You are buying this for the silver and silver only, US mint coins only hold a dollar face value if you take to bank, it's real value is for the silver so buy as cheap as possible.......
I am more of a silver collector than a silver stacker. Silver Proof Sets, Limited Silver Proof Sets, Silver Eagles, Morgans (90% and new) Peace Dollars (90% and new), Kennedys (90% and 40%), Ikes (40%) Walking Libertys (90%). I've not been able to see my way clear on silver rounds.
I love all of those Coins, have quite a few of each. Have not purchased a ASE since 2020. I look for Sovereign coins, then rounds. Been getting into 10 oz bars lately. I purchase whatever has the lowest premium. Like you said, they are all 1 oz of silver. I just believe that the Sovereign coins will hold more of the premium value than the generic.

I have a number of silver coins with milk spots, it doesn't bother me I still buy them, silver is silver.

Very informative and makes understanding premiums a little better.
Awesome video.
Love Buffalo Rounds. My favorite ones.
Thanks, and have a great weekend!
90% is still my go to silver....I'll keep stacking my constitutional silver!
Have some 90% to show you soon. :)
It's pricey now. I love 90% silver but need to find a good source for lower premiums. Any recommendations?

I'm digging the 2022 Roaring Lion. SD Bullion has them for a comparable premium and prior years have increased in price. Nice deal.
1. Canadian Maple

Also, the walking liberty and morgan rounds are beautifully proof like
I have added the Cook Islands Silver Bounty Ship coin to my list.
All good options! One of my favorite generic rounds are the Aztec calendar from Golden State Mint.
Yeah I picked up some of aztecs and some Britannias the other day once I saw what silver eagles were going for.
If Golden State Mint still does a Buffalo their Buffalo is outstanding, or it was.
Silver gets cheaper every day when you take the value of the dollar and inflation in to account. Super cheap.
I like to continually fill tubes of each of the various, popular sovereign bullion coins. Working on my least favorite last... Roos.
As always the Gator 🐊 stacker offers good analysis. Without a doubt the Best Value in Sovereign coins is the Britannia’s hands down! I bought four ASE's MS 69 2020's
$10.00 Premium.

After seeing the Freedom Buffalo rounds on one of your previous videos I had to pick up several myself and I can say I'm not disappointed 🙂
I need 10 more. Must have haha
I went into my local yesterday and bought 20 of the lady's of America they look good
The huge premiums basically make these silver collectibles, not bullion and definitely not investment grade.
If the government built Ford's (or any other vehicle), it would cost three times as much and work half as well. Good info as always!
For sure haha!
I buy private minted silver rounds
