@Lord ballsac the 2nd Definitely important, but don't forget a constitution for community self-governance and maybe a plan for creating your own currency (split tally sticks will work in a pinch). If society collapses, you'll need more than a gun to retain adequate security. The history of money is a bit more nuanced than "paper bad; metal good," though metal is a decent way to hedge against Fed meddling and economic voodoo. The primary issues are 1) who controls the money supply and 2) what is the best monetary policy; what backs the currency is largely irrelevant. Wompum and cowrie shells make the case for the Austrian school/quantity theory: the primary requirement to guarantee the success of a monetary system over long timespans is a stable quantity. (Short term fluctuations will occur from changes in velocity, which is why we have not seen hyperinflation due to Fed printing -- the velocity has been steadily decreasing for decades as all the funny money "wealth" is concentrated in fewer and fewer hands.) There is nothing innately or "intrinsically" valuable about gold and silver -- their value arises from industrial uses, jewelery, and thousands of years of monetary tradition. After the ashes, your gold, silver, and copper will likely be needed for repairing electrical systems. Your currency system ought to be issued by a mutual agreement in a community, backed by the agreement of community members to settle transactions with the currency. The natural units to use would either be the hour (manpower) or some measure of food stored or in production. I've heard gold and silver called "Mad Max Money", but I think precious metals are more a way to store wealth intergenerationally rather than as a plan for surviving an apocalypse. After the apocalypse is survived and society restored (hopefully a better, more libertarian one), you can bust out the buried treasure for your grandkids.

I am both a stacker and a silversmith. My 3 best are 1. Generic rounds. The cheaper the better. 2. Junk silver. 3. Sterling. I can resell the sterling, repair it and sell it, take part of it to incorporate in other jewelry and melt the rest. With the rounds, I can stack them, I can melt them down and add copper to turn them to sterling. And when I melt them down, with or without copper, I will turn them to shot for casting. The only thing I completely agree on is the high premium stuff. And to me, this will include silver eagles, other coins or rounds with a high premium. My goal is to get as close to spot as possible for my silversmithing needs. I still have a decent stack that includes silver eagles, maple leaves, kangaroos, and others. But that is not my priority. I love collecting junk silver. And try to always get it at $12 face. Unless silver really jumps, $12 is my personal limit unless it is something I want for my collection. I can lose out to others by buying at where I do, and I am ok with that. I stack on a budget.
@@stephanies6770 Silver is silver. Though right now I don't tend to buy much of anything. As everything has a high premium right now. Including junk silver. While gold and silver have fallen, premiums tend not to. But . . . whatever the source, if you can get it as close to spot as possible, the better. Jeep in mind, the numismatic value of junk silver might outweigh the melt value. It used to not be this way, even a year ago. Also, junk silver, due to wear on the coins, has less silver than what is listed that they should have. So, take into account 90% silver by weight, and more loss due to wear. If your goal is the most silver for as close to spot, junk silver can be a good purchase and a bad one at the same time. What you get in the bags tends to have low to no numismatic value due to wear, so it is often cheaper, but also, it is lighter due to wear. But, hey, it is fun to go through, far more interesting that shiney, high premium rounds and coins. And you just might find a valuable coin that was missed by whomever sold the bag.

I take your point but the Federal Reserve is the U.S. Central bank, enacted officially by the Federal Reserve Act. It's just the U.S. printing its own money legally, perhaps recklessly, but definitely not "forged" in the negative sense of the word. Since it is printed by the Fed itself, it is authentic money, not "forged" money. Someone else would have to "forge" U.S. currency for it to be a felony. In any case, if we want silver and gold to hold and grow in value, let the Federal Reserve keep up what it's doing. No one or institution can outrun inflation forever. And besides, we need the stimulus injection at the moment, unless we want to relive the Great Depression era of unemployment, household fiscal deaths, and permanent loss of businesses that would make today's crisis look tame in comparison.
I've purchased Silver Maples (due to the security features), U.S. 90% silver coin, Sunshine Mint rounds and bars (also with security features), some ASE's, and some rounds with designs that I liked.

Great video. I like junk silver because of its historical interest. When I look at a 2000+ year old Roman or Egyptian coin, I know it's basically the same thing as what I have, collected for the same reasons.
I like the generic stuff. I don't feel bad about touching it, playing with it, and pretending I'm Harvey Dent. When my cub asks me if she can go hang out with friends, I'll pull out the 1ozt generic buffalo in my pocket and say, "perhaps we should let fate decide." ... then I just tell her "no."
Even if it just bullion I still don't want it to be all tarnished...might even dissuade a particular individual buyer who has mental issues with anything tarnished or grimy looking ....keep that silver nice and shiny! Just keep a few coins and bars for playing with and the rest keep airtight
Most of my purchases the last few months have been an Eagle here and there at the LCS, but I've had a thing for the junk silver.....I'd say I have an addiction....especially to half dollars.
As far as backed by the government. That's why I don't have ANY ASE. Sure they are backed by the government, but only for $1. A ounce of junk change is backed by the government for $1.40
Managing money is different from accumulating wealth, and the lack of investment education in schools may explain why people struggle to maintain their financial gains. The examples you provided are relevant, and I personally benefited from the market crisis, as I embrace challenging times while others tend to avoid them. Well, at least my advisor does too, jokingly.
Investors should exercise caution with their exposure and exercise caution when considering new investments, particularly during periods of inflation. It is advisable to seek guidance from a professional or trusted advisor in order to navigate this recession and achieve potential high yields.

Through closely monitoring the performance of my portfolio, I have witnessed a remarkable growth of $483k in just the past two quarters. This experience has shed light on why experienced traders are able to generate substantial returns even in lesser-known markets. It is safe to say that this bold decision has been one of the most impactful choices I have made recently.
When I buy silver, I always weigh the competing goals of "will this be valuable to my great grandchildren" and "ouuu shiny and pretty, me want." I also like having coins that tell a story, for example the silver war nickels.
@10:58 My mom kept a bag of these when I was younger from when she was a child. I've sold some here and there over the years but still have a handfuls worth that I plan to hold for another 20 years.

If you can find sterling cheap it's a great way to hord silver and be able to use it regularly. I have a set of sterling silver Silverware, cups, bowls and plates. I use them daily and if I ever needed the money I have close to 2100 oz available. It's a lot better to use the stuff than leaving it in a safe all day.

@@FirstnameLastname-vy2dg Fair enough man. Value lies where people believe it lies. Personally, I do not see value in junk silver, and will not accept it as trade for my goods or services. 999 fine coins SURE, but you can't expect others to pay some sort of premium for a vintage year or special edition. All I care about is the weight and purity. Coins are pretty, and bars are for business.
"Collector" is different from "stacker" yes you can do both but you have to understand the collected market. I do really well on Flipping graded proof Eagles from my LCS to collectors but I'd never buy them to "stack". Junk silver is great for SHTF scenario for small denom. To trade with if the dollar failed, But not for stacking. The "bang for the buck" isn't there selling it. That said I'd say the generics are the best deal and will get you close to spot. I feel like you should have addressed 40% silver half dollars and 35% nickels just for your pov on it. For me it's low grade junk silver and hard to sell because it harder to refine. Anyways good video I can't disagree with your opinion but I wouldn't keep that much junk silver. Just enough to carry in a bug out bag that won't burden you. Also "shot silver" I agree. However. I do, do shot gold when priced right, I put it in fake potted plants dirt for long term storage. Never been stolen either, even noticed. If I need it at some point I'd screen it out and pan it. Silver shot doesn't have the value to make that worthwhile. Anyways nice video

Good information. I have a suggestion, when holding something in front of the camera for people to see, hold your hand still. Dont be talking with your hands.
Silver Dragon, I have been stacking since the 70's and most of my silver I acquired at under $8 oz. Just recently I went to an estate sale and they had a good amount of junk silver, but it was priced high for the first two days. I went back right before they closed on the final day and got a great deal on about 8 pounds of halves, quarters, and dimes for ...................$300 cash........... SWEET DEAL ! ! !
I have to disagree. In contrast to bullion and junk silver which are liquid stuff, you're gonna have a hard time when selling rounds and medals. Let's do the math: I can buy an ASE for $24.70 right now. Same dealer would buy back ASE's for $21.50. When I try to sell medals, many dealers wouldn't buy them at all and if so, they won't pay spot, but MELT price, which would be around $13.55. So you would have to rely on ebay to find somebody desperate who doesn't want to pay the real price for tradable physical silver.
I am sooooo glad you posted this as im new to collecting silver and have according to this post made excellent choices and purchases!!! Thank you again...and yeup! Just subscribed! 😁😁😁

13:55 I was like WTF? under 20 bucks an oz? Then looked at the date again it's not from August but April. Now even spot is > $27/oz. When I was starting in Autumn 2018 it was $14/oz :)
I have no idea how the princess bride clip fit in to what you were saying but I’m so glad you used it
Everybody is different.
My best silver to buy is Sterling Silver shots. Second is Fine silver shots. Then sterling wire, sheets, tubes...
I'm a jeweler
How do you test the shot you buy, for purity? (or anything else, for that matter).
Ricois lol for sure but you aren’t “stacking” just making inventory 😏 I buy lots of shot for pouring 🔥🐉
As am I. I have some of the same buying habits.
I made some shot myself, just melt the .999 silver with a torch in a crucible, and slowly poor into straw or a large bucket of water... good price and you know what you got.
@@mrprosale Yeah, I've done that with bars to make 925, but the 999 shots are often cheaper, and I don't like melting a bar that I could sell to someone who's not a jeweler
I was just at a card convention and came across two gentlemen selling silver. This was my first time buying. After chatting I asked the guy which one he would buy to start his collection and he straight up told me “whichever has the lowest premium”. I respect the fact he didn’t try to take advantage of me and actually gave me some good advice as well as a beautiful 2012 1oz Silver Moose coin from the Canadian Wildlife series.
Silver Dragon - "That would be Forging US currency and that's a felony"
Federal Reserve - ...........
DarkHorseI lol I know 🤦🏽♂️🔥🐉
I consider a B8GGER FELONY the printing of FIAT PAPER DOLLARS/WEALTH OUT OF THIN AIR NOT BACKED BY GOLD.
Forgery of a government instrument......don't ask me how I know🤭
Juan S ikr😑
I appreciate the info bro I'm stacking silver for my grandkids they are the future and so is silver
Lol. You’re a grandpa and said “bro” 😂
I like you 😉
Radical grandaddy
I've recently started doing the same. It's for my 2 grown kids and my grandkids.
@@rebeccahernandez3460 same for me.
I'm a "Paw pa" and I'm buying Silver and vintage coins for my grandkids as well. My grandson is 3 and he already loves to look at my coins and Silver. I love it! He says "This mine paw pa, this mine seever" lol.. He's already claiming it!
Thanks very important advice . I was buying the wrong ones.
you are welcome my friend! 🔥🐉
Great video. I like junk silver because of its historical interest. When I look at a 2000+ year old Roman or Egyptian coin, I know it's basically the same thing as what I have, collected for the same reasons.
I watch your videos every day. You have the best insights on silver!!!
All I gotta say is: "KEEP STACKIN" !!
New to the precious metals arena .I'm learning so much and I thank you for it.
Right now I have around 13.5 lbs of silver started at the beginning of this year always have had a interest in silver averages under 20oz
Thats a good stack for only a few months
Keep it up. Don’t forget a gun to secure your stuff when the economy crashes in a few months
I like the generic stuff. I don't feel bad about touching it, playing with it, and pretending I'm Harvey Dent. When my cub asks me if she can go hang out with friends, I'll pull out the 1ozt generic buffalo in my pocket and say, "perhaps we should let fate decide."
... then I just tell her "no."
Rocky Mountain Bear 😂😂😂😂🔥🐉
Hahahaha 🐻
😁😁😊
LOLOLOL..
Even if it just bullion I still don't want it to be all tarnished...might even dissuade a particular individual buyer who has mental issues with anything tarnished or grimy looking ....keep that silver nice and shiny! Just keep a few coins and bars for playing with and the rest keep airtight
42% of my stack are Eagles, 24% Maples, 23% foreign government bullion coins, 10% Junk. . allll govmt coins baby.
A ounce of junk change is backed by the government for $1.40
Why gov’t coins? Silver is silver.. .999 is.999.
Kevin Belcher wow you are doing it right my friend! 🔥🐉
95% of my stack is numismatics that go up... no matter if gold is high or low.
This is superb! Information, as a noob it gets quite difficult to handle all of this and staying informed is a major cause, how do you go about this are you a pro investor?
Through closely monitoring the performance of my portfolio, I have witnessed a remarkable growth of $483k in just the past two quarters. This experience has shed light on why experienced traders are able to generate substantial returns even in lesser-known markets. It is safe to say that this bold decision has been one of the most impactful choices I have made recently.
Wow, that’s stirring! Do you mind connecting me to your advisor please. I desperately need one to diversified my portfolio.
I’ve actually been looking into advisors lately, the news I’ve been seeing in the market hasn’t been so encouraging. who’s the person guiding you?
I’m on the American silver Eagle, 10oz bar, and kilo kilo bar silver train. It’s pulling a caboose with some fractional gold in it!!!
This actually gave me a lot of insight for a beginning, thank you bossman
For stacking always go for cheapest premium, high premiums are nice coins but u not keeping a good ratio of wealth storage when u pay premiums of 100%
Great time watching, Thank you so much...
Rich A.
When I buy silver, I always weigh the competing goals of "will this be valuable to my great grandchildren" and "ouuu shiny and pretty, me want." I also like having coins that tell a story, for example the silver war nickels.
Great show Harry , always informative
The worst type of silver for stacking:
The silver you don't have!
I just got rid of my only silver and gold eagles and maple leafs. Lol
Lawrence Grott exactly. Silver coins, silver rounds, silver bars, silver chains. Silver is silver
Hahaha yes. Unobtainium Silver is the most elusive to stack.
Yeeeahhh! Boiiiiiii!
Lawrence Grott and gold am I right 😏🔥🐉
Thank you for all the industry info. Much appreciated!
I was lucky enough to pick up a roll of 2020 ASE for $400! 🤪back in March just before my coin shop closed for Covid .
Yea that was when silver was going for 11 and some change. Thats when the spot price was like 7 bucks over. Maple leaves were 4.50 over spot
Here we are April 2021 and that roll of 25 Maple Leaf is about $800. Good foresight
Great show! Informative and interesting, always looking for good advice.
My recent purchases have been quality 9999 coins, rounds and a couple bars. Mostly from RCM.
@10:58 My mom kept a bag of these when I was younger from when she was a child. I've sold some here and there over the years but still have a handfuls worth that I plan to hold for another 20 years.
Love the vids. Maybe the title should be " do as I say not what I do"
I buy 1 oz silver bars. With a mill you can flatten the bar to the appropriate thickness and cut them into silver rings. Very few tools required
I found a piece of 3oz silver coin that is 350 dollars. I really love the design, so ended up looking into iron metal art. And spent the other 300 bucks to get more than 10 ounces of generic silver instead.
G'day mate, I come from Australia and bought my first lot of silver last week, I have ordered a tube of the Roos. I will increase my stack as I get funds
I’ve been investing since 25 (currently 45) and love shopping in “clearance” section. The power of compound interest.
How much oz did u save ? Am 20 and I wanna start. What are some tips
I used to stack silver I had to sell out years ago I want to start again for my granddaughters I hope everyone does this for the future generations!
I literally collect everything silver except sterling silver. I have some very high premiums and I have some really low premiums, I collect for the art and for the investing
@@urbanrelichunter thats a veteran move!
Really interesting glad I found the channel.
Where can you find junk silver and generic silver rounds and bars?? Sorry for the possible newbie question..because I am 😊
Thanks for the video and advice 💗
I am new also. I went to a gold and silver exchange. I would definitely choose a reputable dealer because I don't know how to check them. Maybe one day I'll learn. I would order online but it's difficult to get deliveries at my building because of prison style fence around my building. I live in the ghetto lol

I am currently thinking that I want to get involved with silver dimes because I feel that they would be more fungible when fiat money finally colaspes , I also think that at this point it would be a buyer's market and you would get great value for a couple of silver dimes in that kind of situation.
Bars baby, triple nine fine. That's the best way to deal with neighbors and strangers alike. Especially if SHTF. 👍
Not everyone will want a bar of silver its nice to have bars and coins, dimes, quarters. It would be very hard to cut up a silver bar
Thank you Silver Dragons!
Great video especially for these crazy times. Thanks Dragons
I can always wear my Sterling silver jewelry.
Thank you, this REALLY helped, just made my first silver purchase.
Thx for the heads up. Generic silver rounds it is!
Thank you! I feel more comfortable and confident in stacking now.
👍⚪👍 buy what you like hold it as long as you want sell when you're done hope you make a profit.
Yep!
Very informative, thanks for sharing!
ASE have high premium but higher resale generally as well...
Agreed though on starting with 1 oz coins. Do bars later. Gov mint coins to start def.
Great video. Love the information and presentation. Thank you.
I love buying silver. 🚀
Excellent tips for silver stacking.
I think Canadian Silver Is one of the best for stacking! But may be a bit biased :p great video as always!
Supposedly Canadian leafs get milk spots. I own 300 ounces of them. I dont even know if they do. I just keep them in the tube and tucked away. I find them coins to be really nice.
@@jackdabeanstock3230 That can be a problem with older Maples but they actually dealt with the issue a few years ago. Don't know exactly when but it wasn't too long ago.
Silver Dragons:
Please talk about USA silver dollars from extremely late 18 th century & extremely early 19th century. Thanks.
Just bought 20 rounds just like you showed off and had to pay $33 each from Liberty Coin. Was about the cheapest thing I could find about 2 weeks ago.
Nice!
Just bought my first rounds from Staggs in Kent $32/for 10!
I like The modern silver Eagles ,just the standard coins at about spot price ,no mint statecoins. And I buy Morgan's in good shape for the historical value ,no super high dollar coins. Nice video.
If you buy a generic silver round, how do you know it is geniune?
magnet and weight test 🔥🐉
I finally bought 40 rounds. 2 tunes. Buffalos and aztecs. Very nice. I have 2 five 0z bars and 500 ounces of eagles and maple leaves. Nice pieces. I dont play with them
You know they are real the same way for anything else with magnet, ping or purity tests
I think you had the three best backward ... eagles and state bullion require no waiting period for the LCS to get rid of
Duke Nukem I like Eagles the best don’t get me wrong most of my stack is eagles. but if you want to BUY them right now the price is high 🔥🐉
Good information. I have a suggestion, when holding something in front of the camera for people to see, hold your hand still. Dont be talking with your hands.
Your pretty much Right. I tried sell generic no problem silver is loved

Wow. Well done both 💫👏
Really an excellente video/presentation. Thank you for helping. I wished i would have discovered that world before now...
The best is the 10oz bars that's what I recomend
I love your new coin.Thinking of purchasing.
I just got 5oz of generics, 5 maples and 5 Am. Eagles. Great videos.
I got the part about don’t buy silver shot and sterling in 5 seconds.....exceptionally long winded. Love the subject matter
Peter Fritz no look at SD Bullion they are paying well above spot for generics 👍🏽🔥🐉
@@SilverDragons47 Oh, that's awesome. In my country, they only pay melt or less 😥. So I only buy, what I can sell back.
I am sooooo glad you posted this as im new to collecting silver and have according to this post made excellent choices and purchases!!! Thank you again...and yeup! Just subscribed! 😁😁😁
I would love to dump my sterling silver coins. I randomly acquired them over the years. Couple of them are Presidents coins from the now defunct Franklin Mint. I honestly hate them.
