IMO one of the best gadgets to make aviation easier and safer is the handheld GPS. Affordable insurance to never have to fly blind or to use as a confirmation to check the health of the cockpit instrumentation. They also help to never get lost on the ground and sea as well.

Don't forget that GPS can be easily jammed. So be prepared to use your official instruments to navigate.
