    Thanks. Good video. In the end, the inside of my Timex Atlantis 100 looked quite a bit different, with a different type of interior cover holding the battery in place, but it didn't matter. Your video gave me the courage to open up the watch in the first place, and once I did that, it wasn't that hard to figure out.

    I always take a Q-Tip with rubbing alcohol to clean the grit and schmutz around the back case cover edge so it doesn’t foul up the neoprene waterproofing gasket that seals the watch.

    I guess these Iron Mans are all different. I saw one of these videos yesterday and I thought I can do that and went out and got a battery this morning. Getting the 4 screws from the back off. Piece of cake. Getting the back off without taking off at least one side of the strap. NO WAY!!! Then after I got the back off replacing the battery was easy. But trying to put the back back on? The rubber gasket had stretched or something so trying to get it back in place to screw the back on was just not possible. I tried putting the back on loosly and tried to coax the gasket into position but it always popped out somewhere. Then I said I will just cut off any excess gasket that wouldn't jam under the cover realizing the watch will no longer be waterproof. Then trying to get the band back on I finally gave up. I didn't want to jam a screwdriver into my hand trying that challenge. I had bought a new watch yesterday but still wanted to try and keep the old one. It now has a home in the trash can. I admire guys that can do some of these repairs. Fortunately I am in a financial position to be able to afford a new watch. 😀

    Very helpful. Major issue I am having.
    The battery cover is not only secured with four (4) screws, but there is protruding rubber from the band which partially covers the battery cover at both the top and bottom. It extends 1/16 to 1/8 on either side. While I can slip the battery cover underneath on one side, I am unable to pry up the rubber on the opposite side.
    Wish I could attach a photo.
    Any thoughts?
    Thank you.

      Not sure about that. Maybe somebody else has a video on it?

      I had similar issues. I decided it was easier to just buy a new watch. 😀

    Which ironman model is this? What model has the easiest battery replacement? Thank you for any help.

    • @NeilRichard
      @NeilRichard  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think it was the Ironman Sleek 30. Or at least something close to it. No idea which one is easiest to replace a battery in but based on my experience with this one, it might be easier just to buy a new watch.

    thanks for the video... have you had any issues with indiglo with any of your ironmans? I've had mine for several years but the indiglo no longer works properly... I just see a small smidgen of the green in bottom right hand of the screen when I press the button ... thanks for any tips/advice on how to fix this issue!

      I've had issues with IndiGlo over the years but don't know of any way to fix it. I've always had to either deal with no nightlight or buy a new watch.

      @@NeilRichard Ok, Thx, I guess it's time to buy a new one... I do like the Ironman Timex brand... they seem to hold up pretty well and are at a decent price point.

    My watch is the first one shown. Did you use size 1.0 screw to get the screws out for that watch too?

    • @NeilRichard
      @NeilRichard  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's been awhile but I think I only opened up one watch in the video. But if I opened another one, then I'm pretty sure the screws were the same size.

      @@NeilRichard Finally found screwdriver to open case, but now having difficulty putting latch back on. The other end of the metal latch or sling that holds down the battery is locked down with a small screw. It did not say to unscrew but I did to take the metal latch or sling off so the battery can slip out more easily without bending the latch out of place. I screwed it down after replacing the battery, but the other side of the latch keeps sticking up. How did you relatch the end that is stick up?
      I guess I can just screw down the case backing and let pressure keep that latch down if I can't get the latch to lock.

    • @NeilRichard
      @NeilRichard  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@tracyphoenix8 I didn't remove the latch completely on mine, just pried up the one end and slid the battery out. Maybe pre-bend it before you screw it down to help is stay down?
