@@fixed1t oh ok thanks! I have never changed the battery before ever since I got my watch (7 years) so I felt like the sliders were just stuck probably due to a build up of hardened dirt or something

Great video showing how to remove the side buttons and to lubricate the button seals to prevent leaking. I had replaced my watch battery but the watch would go blank if submersed in water prior to removing and lubricating all 5 buttons.
so glad it help, as you found out many of the grommets dry out over time so the lubrication helps to make them watertight again. My God, is that the world's smallest powered screwdriver? Man, it's 3 AM, can't sleep, figured I'd try to fix GF's old HRM for something to do, got stuck on the plastic flap bit, thought no way in hell someone would have this description as brilliantly as you've laid out. Thank you so much, now I just gotta order batteries for it and she's back in business. Cheers man!

Ahh, button maintenance was awesome. Thanks. I've done battery replacements a few times, 2 on current watch, but never messed with the buttons.

@@fixed1t I tried bending the straps but it’s still not working. I think it’s from all the dirt that build up over time

Thanks very much! The older Timex Ironman watches were much less complicated to replace batteries, none of the sticky battery covers, etc.
