Hi JP 🖐🏼😃. This was totally awesome.. At the beginning of the video when the train WAS sitting on the track. Big Blue (425) reminded me of A big fire breathing dragon. With All the steam from the water And All the black smoke from the coal.it remind me of the steam engine At green field village.in Dearborn Michigan. Thanks for sharing the details with US ‼️. Beautifully done. There's something about them steam locomotives with the whistle, billowing smoke and everything else makes me giddy and feel like a little kid again. I guess the excitement of something not see everyday. Favorite views/scenes are, like you Jay through the cut and the drone footage that made the train look like a model train layout. Oh my! What can I say? JP, you blew the doors off with this one! BRAVO! So many happy emotions from viewing the 425! Spectacular footage, drone also! I felt some you were so doggone close....😁 When I hear that steam engine, and the mournful horn, I picture the men on my paternal side of the family, all did something involved with the RR. I am so happy to see a young man, such as yourself, get excited about trains!! My father hauled us to various RR crossings in OH & NJ, just to "watch the trains!" It's in the blood! Thank you! Nothing else compaares to the sounds of a steam locomotive. I can't see how anyone wouldn't fall in love with them. And what a beautiful locomotive this is! Yes...the rock cutting part. That's when I got all emotional...I don't know why.. think I must have lived over there in a past life. Something about the train horn echoing off those beautiful mountains, the click clacking of the train on the rails , it's magical. The sights and sounds without the choking smoke..lol... Thank you...a wonderful video..very well done!
Nice video. I have not seen the Glen Onoka Falls in over thirty years. It sure has changed a lot. When we were kids we would have to hike down the mountain to get to the tunnel and bridges. Hiking out was not so much fun. Back then the train did not run as often nor look as good, people sat in open cars. We would spend the morning hiking the falls. In the afternoon we would picnic on the beach, swim and jump off the bridge. You could jump off the trestle or use a rope swing that was tied up under it. I bet you can not do that anymore. Brought back a lot of great memories. Thanks, T

My dad helped start a couple of train museums in San Diego it was a passion of his to save the old trains and streetcars so I love the Train videos thank you great as always JP last year I had a chance to go on the Durango Silverton train fabulous scenery my second time on it my grandkids live in Durango my favorite train trip was Roaring Camp Railroad and Big Trees you will not regret taking this train ride if you get a chance in Northern California right next door giant very old redwoods with descriptions at each tree that train whistle gave me chills I felt like my dad was watching it here with me hope so he went all around the country to film trains like this
Best video ever. Love steam engines and their whistles. Did you know there is a lookout called Flagstaff on the mountain right there. You can look down into Jim Thorpe and you can drive up to the top. You could make an awesome video about that. Also don't miss Mauch Chunk lake right up the road. Take the train ride.
Admit Jay you like me would love to go back in time at least for a day when these beautiful Iron Horses dominated the transportation system! That gorgeous blue locomotive is one beautiful machine!
Glad to see you got on video their new paint scheme on the old Norfolk Southern engine that they will be using from now on instead of the green and yellow. I was up there a few weeks ago and got pics of their one f unit. I may have to make another trip back up there and do some filming for myself since they are running the steam passenger again. - Randy
Hey JP, the wife and I were in mauch chunk on the 21st for a train ride. we were expecting the diesel but they had the 425 fired up again! Fire breathin', smoke belchin' , steam flyin' and cinders raining down. There's nothing like it!

I think this was the best video ever, mainly because I love steam locos! Can't pick out my favorite so will have to say THE WHOLE CLIP was my favorite and hope you can do some more in the future.
love it that they have the caboose on the end. im old school that new electronic gadget they use now won't scream to the conductor/ engineer that the trestle they just went over has collapsed from high flash flood water. like a human would in a caboose.
You are 100% right. Nowadays nothing is the same with modern technology. Some of it combined to make the old trains better and safer is the ticket to success. I like the first generation diesels like the PAs and GP7s are favorites also. They still had art work built into them.

We rode last year from Mt Top Penopscotch station to Jim Thorpe thru the tunnels was awesome contacted them not doing it this year but next year.Was first time for us wont be the last love all you do with trains. Thanks for another kick butt vid as always enjoyed the adventure.

I'm surprised you weren't on the train! I have to admit, you definitely have me interested in trains more than I've ever been. As for riding a train, the only kind I want to ride on is the steam train like this one. I'm a fan of westerns, shows more than movies, and this train makes the exact same sounds from all the shows I've watched. I also want to ride on an actual authentic stagecoach. Considering the state of the world right now, I would love to go back in time and stay there. I loved listening to the sounds of the locomotive, thank you so much for getting this on film. as a vermonter and still here not really. in fact you could go a whole day without seeing one of the new freight ones going by in some area's. theres one i believe during the fall and at christmas time out of lyndonville . old stile .
Wow! This is amazing! And here i thought the steam engines were under lock and key in museums if any existed still. To see this beauty out on the tracks and running and hearing the old chug chug sound was an absolute pleasure. Only thing that would be better is to actually be there to see it myself in person or actually riding it. What's even more amazing is they have the coal car, caboose, and passenger cars! I loved it and the color. The rock cut was my favorite spot coming around the corner. Steam engines are my favorite, because they are old fashioned.

It doesn't stink, but grease, oil and coal smoke does give off odors. Too warm for the hat lol

as a vermonter and still here not really. in fact you could go a whole day without seeing one of the new freight ones going by in some area's. theres one i believe during the fall and at christmas time out of lyndonville . old stile .

Wow! This is amazing! And here i thought the steam engines were under lock and key in museums if any existed still. To see this beauty out on the tracks and running and hearing the old chug chug sound was an absolute pleasure. Only thing that would be better is to actually be there to see it myself in person or actually riding it. What's even more amazing is they have the coal car, caboose, and passenger cars! Thanks for sharing this one Jay! ❤

That was beautiful and I have always wanted to go on a train ride it's on my bucket list. Hopefully one day I will get to. I hope it's one like the one in your video. That train looked so cool. I love the color and the the way it sounded. Yes I want to see you go on a train ride like that one.

What a beautiful looking locomotive...absolutely grace full i love the color and the sounds of a train ... i have never EVER been on a train ride....other then in a FAIR or in a zoo .
