Why does Norfolk Southern’s track look better maintained? Reading and Northern’s track has spikes sticking up and ties look like they’re sinking in. I thought R&N had a great track crew. And that’s the track regular train rides are running on?
@@robkrasinski6217 The R&N has a pretty good track crew, but your comparing a class I railroad to a class III railroad. The R&N crew has just worked on upgrading the tracks from Reading to Jim Thorpe last year and id assume their next project would be the Lehigh Line. Not to mention, the NS tracks are welded and the R&N ones are not
Train Chamber And NS’s track is fully signaled but R&N’s is not, at least on the portion where both railroads parallel one another through the gorge. NS is a big corporation that is publicly traded, and R&N is a privately held company. At least R&N is still running steam and excursions unlike NS who’s current CEO only really cares about the bottom line more than anything else. I rode behind 765 on the special excursion on NS and RBMN from near Bethlehem to Pittston on August 22, 2015. It is very rare for a non-NS employee to be able to ride the NS track from Allentown to Old Penn Haven. And the NS line to Hazleton. There is no regular passenger service anywhere other than tourist lines north of SEPTA Lansdale/Doylestown line to Syracuse, NY where there is Amtrak service. I missed out on the Amtrak Autumn Express excursions that ran on NS freight only lines through Allentown, Reading, etc. in 2014 and 2016. And in March 2018 Rich Anderson started a charter ban which I believe is still in force even with the new incoming Amtrak head Bill Flynn.
Hey man, great video! I was actually all set to go there that weekend, when something else happened. I got my fill last weekend and will again next weekend. Glad to see you got to see 425 again.
Out of all the steam engines I would love to run, this would be my favorite! It’s loud, grabs everybody’s attention (as all steam engines do but especially this ones as it can be heard for miles), and because the scenery! But of course there are a million other reasons!!!!!
First time I've ever seen an American steam engine painted blue, my second favourite colour. Blue suits this engine very well. In the UK, King Edward 2nd is the only Great Western steam engine to be painted in British Railways Blue.
Thanks, RBMN is definitely worth the trip. I do want to visit the museum in September but I don't know my work schedule far enough out to plan anything for certain.
Awesome! I'll have to get up there someday! And nothing can beat her stalk talk! Will you get up to Cass this fall? I went there last weekend! Oh, and at 3:45: #oldandnew
Thanks, 425 is definitely worth going to see. I managed to get a ticket for heritage weekend at Cass just before they sold out, I'm pretty excited for that event.
Thanks! Yes that was me at Glen Onoko on Sunday. Last time I was in PA I met Train Chamber without realizing it, maybe I need to make a SmokyMtnSteam hat or something lol.
Phenomenal Video! It was a great weekend. I also love that shot nearby MP 126, Ill have to try it sometime
Thanks, it really was a good weekend.

Very well done. Thank you.
Also fantastic video! Your videos never, and I mean NEVER disappoint!!!!!
Thank you!
I love the gorgeous blue shes painted in! Great video
Thanks! Yes the blue looks great on her, proof that steam doesn't always have to be black.
@@SmokyMtnSteam Southern Green is another great color on em.

Thanks! Looking forward to your video.
Even during the 'Vid, 425 puts on a show! Gods bless the RBMN!!!
And a wonderful video
Thank you!
That whistle sounds EXACTLY like 2102's Reading 6 Chime 😍

Lovin' the reading 6 chime! (Favorite whistle)
Excellent footage of 425!
Thanks!
Awesome whistle
Thank you for making this video! I love the RBMN 425 4-6-2 in action. There's nothing but a good ol fashion train ride. Don't you think?
I like that reading 6 chime.
She put out a marvelous run by show.
Very Great Video! I would love to visit there someday! Are you still possibly coming to the Little River Lumber Co. Museum?
Thanks, RBMN is definitely worth the trip. I do want to visit the museum in September but I don't know my work schedule far enough out to plan anything for certain.
Amazing!
Thanks!
Great job! Glad we could meet again
Thanks Steve! We just keep running into each other.
Amazing Video!
Thanks!

I think there are some narrow gauge engines that can beat her stack talk. I'm talking about 190, 192, Tweetsie, and 70
Amazing vid thanks man 🚂
Glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome video! Great shots! Was nice to run into you again.
Thanks, same to you.
Beautiful video!
Thank you very much!
Wooooooow!
Nice video
Is that a Reading T-1 whistle I hear?
Yes, it’s 2102s
Excellent work, as usual! By chance, were you wearing the 576 hat at Glen Onoko? My dad and I might've been talking to you there.

Nice video! Is the freight train NRFF?
Yes, it came through just after 4 both days I was there
