  • In this video, I'm making a small table for my daughter. This can be used as an end table or coffee table. Go as big as you need to, just have fun in the process. This is the same epoxy you would for countertops. It's tough and durable.

    When you said you’re making it for your daughter, since this is my first time watching you, I thought you’re gonna give it as a gift for a grown up daughter. I wasn’t prepared for the amount of cuteness at the end of the video 😍

    • @timlarson7228
      @timlarson7228 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Off the charts cuteness and so so sweet! Thank you for sharing this adorable family moment with us. Now for the table top. You have given me the “permission” to try one of these projects myself. You’ve shown mistakes and your corrections which we don’t see enough of on TH-cam epoxy demos. Thank you for that. An excellent job. Now a subscriber.

    I love how you managed to cover up your mistakes, the end result looks really awesome! However I suggest that you seal the underside as well to prevent cracking or warping, else the wood will absorbe moisture from the underside and not from the top and this will ruin your protect. A simple clear coat will do the job.

      @thekayrj 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Same thing happened to me on a wooden fence project. I sprayed only one side of the pickets with a combo stain/sealant, because I thought I'd let my stingy neighbor pay to have his own side treated. He never did, and after a few soaking rains, the pickets warped. The pickets, where I treated both sides, are still in excellent condition, after 15+ years!

    Wow, that table looks great! Just a suggestion, I would seal the bottom. Just pop off the legs, and apply a solid coat of a good waterproof sealant, even a thin clear coat of epoxy. With the top sealed, any moisture that gets into the wood from the bottom (just natural humidity changes) will cause the table to warp, which would be a real shame after all your work!

    Great work! One thing I’d note (not saying you don’t know this but Incase your subscribers don’t - as a general rule when making tables (with multiple pieces of wood) it’s important that all sides be finished. Just putting epoxy on the top can cause furniture to rip apart. It’s important for wood to accept moisture / temp the same way all the way around. Although you’d probably never have an issue like that with this table just something that’s worth mentioning if it ever comes up. You are a solid builder and I absolutely love your content. It’s sweet and I’ve gotten TONS of ideas from you. I dig just about EVERYTHING you do lol.

    A few things: great table. if you had primed the table with white before hand you would not have had to spry paint after. And the drips you can save yourself from having to saw and sant , if you tap the underside of the table. then you just have to take the tejp off when the epoxy have stopped running.
    but as i said great table...

      Tape would work well on a table with a sharp angle, but not so much with a rounded edge. You could always tape the very underside near the edge for a clean break, though, you would still have to sand a bit and apply a clear coat afterwards as he did. You had a good idea in priming the surface first.

    Great video, what is most helpful are the problems you ran into and then troubleshoot and fix. Very helpful! Thx

    Me and my wife are working on a project inspired by your video.
    Still the best part of video is you playing with your daughter.

    Great job, dad ! I've done some work with epoxy, but never thought of doing what you did, putting it on top of an existing table. Loved the way you mixed the colors and applied them.

    I love this. It turned out really cool. To me you are the first person who made epoxy work look simple and understandable for a non-skilled crafter like me. Thank you!

    Great job, that pvc what a killer idea. So slick. I like that you pointed out your mistakes and then showed what you did to fix it. We all make mistakes. Your little one is adorable. Her dimples are to die for. 😍

    Your daughter is absolutely GORGEOUS! I'm sure someone else has probably said this already, but if you mask off the bottom edge, you can peel it right off after the cure. Saves a lot of sanding. Beautiful project!

    Love it! And yes I'm currently working on a project where I am trying to fix what I did. I sanded it so much it looks like a cheap laminate right now. I am trying to use a green product instead of an epoxy due to health issues. I know an epoxy would no doubt look better but I am determined to make this work. Thanks for sharing how you over came your mistake and made it work.
