What about putting the gold in a Home Depot bucket and then burying it in your yard? Maybe put it 3 feet down, cover with dirt, and plant grass. No one would know it's there! Bad idea?

Diversify. Never put it in one spot.

Don’t underestimate your desire to access your precious metals frequently. To add to your stack, retrieve part of your stack or just enjoy looking at what you’ve accumulated. For me, this means storing my stack in very well-hidden, yet easily accessible locations inside my home.

Bury it but put a hunk of metal above it so metal detectors find the metal before the prize and stop digging

That is an option however it offers little safety once people know its there. Also if you ever die or are in a coma it will become impossible for your relatives to get your gold unless they know about it and it will be lost forever.

Truly the BEST video on this subject in the vast sea of TH-cam videos regarding the storing of valuables. Accurate information delivered in an easy to understand manner. The only thing that I took issue with is "ten paces from the oak tree like a pirate comment." No self respecting pirate would use an oak tree. We...uh...I mean they prefer walnut trees, and it is never less than 20 steps.

@@mr.s4ndman hahaha if you have a big enough stack most of it doesnt need to be handled a lot, hence burying it.

If nobody else knows you have it, it does'nt matter where you store it. For me the next person to know where my gold is will be reading my will. At that time I won't care.

No such thing as a "safety deposit box." There *are*, however, _safe_ deposit boxes.

I’m really new and confused. When you said Gold coins, bars and bullion….I thought coins and bars were considered bullion?

    • @nitdiver5
      @nitdiver5 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

Coins are bullion but not all bullion are coins. Coins refers to a legal government tender like the Silver Eagle and has a value stamped on it such as “One Dollar.”

The bank can do a Probate Lockout on a safety deposit box when that person dies. Interesting!

Concerning off-site storage or more importantly a depository, be sure that your gold, silver, palladium, etc. is make sure that you have a Segregated Account.

What about the guy that had a lot of silver in a safety storage unit that he thought he had bullion stacked in his unit.
Then he built a new house and decided to put a safe in the basement in a hidden room.
He had added the cost of the storage unit and if he bought a safe and had it stored in his basement and within two years he would have spent as much on the storage unit as he did purchasing the safe.
So he bought the safe and had it installed and then made a secret entry when everything was completed he only had to organise the transport of his silver.
He called the company that was storing it in a maximum security storage unit and asked them where he had to organise a security transport truck to go to and have his silver packed in to be delivered to his choice of location.
That’s when he found out that he didn’t have any silver it was all a bunch of numbers and spread sheets to look like it was gaining value.
Then he found out that he had nothing and his original amount of silver he had actual bullion had been sold and that the company didn’t exist and he then had to tell all of his friends that had invested with him that they all had nothing but a fake company showing investors their silver was growing in value.
After the fbi I think it was got involved they had discovered that the company and its employees all came down to two people and they had fake invested 10-15 million dollars of silver and had taken off to another country but they were arrested and had spent all the money and the investors ended up with nothing.
The strangest part of the story was if the one guy that wanted to store his silver at his house didn’t ask for his bars then they could have stolen millions more until someone asked for their silver to be sold and the storage fees were the only thing that stopped the scam
