    ALRIGHT GUYS, I kind of figured out the mic issues, As you can see there's still some issues with the mic working and not working. Maybe it's the way I'm talking into the mic or something will play with it more. But now we know it can actually be without echo/gains sounds (not sure where the bug is but I'll be figuring out for sure)
    Also the music thing was just for fun to add another level of depth to the videos. Just figuring that out tee hee. Hope you guys liked this video

    Every time you have something to add to the technique or a new pouring style, I just have to run over and try it myself. Very interesting since I've been having a huge burst of gas and this is insanely helpful! No worries with the mic, keep on pouring!

    • @TALESCOFFEE

      AWWW thank youuuu for this. Yesss if you have high bursts of gas this is probably the best way to do it. You don't HAVE to use the needle spouts it just helps. I still prefer the Hario Buono spouts though!

    Toward the end there you explained a problem I have. I didn't realize that I was pouring too slow and that why one coffee I brew comes out so chocolate, why I get no dome, and why my medium-light roasts aren't as nuanced as I feel like they could be. So, I poured a little faster and I'm getting those berry notes in my Ethiopian. I like to buy your coffee, but I also need to support local roasting in my area. There's only 2 guys in my area, and one shop in my area. I'd hate to lose any of them.
    I will be buying your new roasts in a few weeks though.

      Aww thank you so much! Glad it helped explain things for you ~ Yeah just fixing the pour can really create a huge difference in flavours!

    • @-8_8-
      @-8_8- 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well, I am still not getting it perfect as I get grounds along the walls. Which I'm guessing means it's still floating after the stir.

  • @henryouyang

    For the dome (or lack of dome) at the end, isn't that created from the stir since it's the last action done, and not from the pour? Also, it sounds like the idea is to pour slow and low, and limit agitation, but later on you said this vertical stream actually creates more agitation. Can you explain what exactly is the idea here?

    • @TALESCOFFEE
      @TALESCOFFEE  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The lack of dome is because I don’t have enough water depth so the grounds aren’t lifted high enough to “see” it since I pour so slowly.
      As for the high agitation becauee of the spout type it’s because the spout pours vertically which only hits the one spot and it digs lower into the bed cause more agitation deeper into the dripper. Where as a more curvy flow will slow it to sit more surface level!
      The best low and slow still have a curve to then imo, those create a lower agitation at least from my pouring experience ~

    When I'm rinsing my filters, I put a metal chopstick in just to keep the filter held down. It's easier and safer than holding the filter with your fingers while pouring the rinse. Chopsticks really are a coffee brewer's best friend.

    How would you use this kettle for lighter roasted coffees? I've been using this for a while and recently realized I've not been able to extract sweetness from coffees and tend to overextract. I suspect the cause to be how this kettle pours.

    • @TALESCOFFEE
      @TALESCOFFEE  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This definitely is the case. If you use this kettle just go slow only in the beginning then you go max speed down the middle. If you want you can do one round when you’re going slow to the edge and then one fat dump. Do not pulse pour I rather you droplet pour then pulse. Send me pics on ig dm if you have issues!

    Do you have problem dropping temperature since you heat the water in different kettle ?

    • @TALESCOFFEE
      @TALESCOFFEE  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well I don’t have a stove in my shop/studio so I use another kettle. It’s also too small to fit on a stove top, so only induction works (I dropped mine recently) so I didn’t film with it.
      I preheat the kettle with boiling water and then added boiling hot back in, so I assume it’s around 97/98 in the video!

    Is there any chance you could review the volume of your intro music? It's WAY louder than the vocals. I'm sure it's not as intended, so thought I'd mention it. I don't know what the experience would be like on cheep earbuds, but through my sound system the intro blasts loud, enough that I turned the volume down, and then couldn't hear what you were saying at all.
    Coffee wise, thanks for another great video!

    • @TALESCOFFEE

    • @ZDude55
      @ZDude55 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TALESCOFFEE so is the slowest pour the best pour? Because you said before in another video that you want to aim for a total draw down time of less than 2 minutes for optimal sweetness and limited bitterness

    • @TALESCOFFEE
      @TALESCOFFEE  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ZDude55 na, it's not ALWAYs best to be around the 2 minutes. There are some cases like this one right, because this particular coffee takes so long to actually control the gases, so the beginning time really is in the first drip (I guess we can count from there) didn't really think about it that way. But yeah, I think we should really time from how our first drip comes out. Conditionally though there are situations when brews can be longer but I do still think the best are around 2 minutes for sure :P

      Huh? For the kettle? I am not even talking about the kettle in the video. Purely speed and the speed is only achieved with a kettle LIKE this. There’s many like this.
      .
      As for usages this is actually a great kettle not for lighter coffees generally. Darker yes, but if you want a strong light one then this is great.
      .
      Just cause you don’t like it doesn’t mean it’s not a potentially good kettle and no this one isn’t sponsored, if it was I HAVE to mention it by law.
