Who wants to see more BTS this year?! We've got some big plans with weddings happening again!
YES PLS!
More plz
Yes, as much as you can
You probably dont give a shit but if you guys are stoned like me atm you can stream all the new movies and series on instaflixxer. I've been streaming with my gf lately =)
@Vihaan Walter Yea, been using InstaFlixxer for years myself :D
This is exactly what I’ve been wanting to see since I lost my second shooter the next several weddings will be just me and I love seeing the real life scenarios play out! Great job guys!
Good stuff dude! -Jared
You look so relax... i’m always stressed no matter how many events i do. Love the BTS! Great job!
Get your reps in! Have fun. If you do it right you’ll get to party with people for a living.
Thanks for the compliment! -Jared
@@WeddingFilmSchool exactly ! God job guys
Really gives me relaxed feeling seen you taking it relaxed and not stressing out!! Soon my first bigger wedding this summer.. solo working. Photos and video of the day.. gopt to plan it well
Great video!!! I mm retired and have started to film conferences, seminars and meetings using a 4 camera setup as a solo. Learned the craft by doing numerous of sessions and learned from my misstakes and now feel confident in what I am doing.
Besides learning some valuable tricks ( splitting the signal from the mixer into my Zoom H6 ) I was deeply taken by the fact that I am doing the things more or less the same as you proving I am on the right track.
I also recognize the feeling that after a succsessful shoot you most remember the misstakes, but still is proud of mission accomplished.
Many thanks for the video that was very important and valuable for me.
/Retired DP manager loving filmmaking
I am a big fan of your BTS cause I learn more than watching tutorial videos. BTS are real world examples of what's going on during the wedding and the thought process of the film maker, the challenges they face from lighting conditions to cluttered rooms, their camera movements, when to switch from gimbal to handheld. I love these guys
Thanks so much!!!
Please don't stop doing such videos because it is helping us here very very good
great work putting this vid together mate. its always interesting seeing how others do thing :)
solo shooting today at a wedding! don't normally solo, but I have a hurt shoulder so I'm trying to take it easy as much as I can! thanks for helping me
I'm gonna play this video over and over again. This helps me a lot. Thanks..
Love hearing that! Def check out our weekly show too. I get into more business stuff and interview incredible wedding filmmakers. - Jay
Amazing BTS! Can't wait to see the final edit🤩
It’s live on the channel! You don’t have to wait! - Jay
Great content, love seeing the things that don't go according to plan and how you adjust.
Thanks so much!
This was so helpful Thank you! Please do more of this!
We plan to now that weddings are happening again. -Jared
Another great BTS and I was so happy to see you using the Fuji X system (like me) and especially with the 23mm which I love. Thank you for the time and work you guys put in.
Thanks! Love my Fujis -Jared
This is going to be in a list of a few of the most valuable videos to me for this year as I'm shooting a friends wedding (lockdown depending) this year. I'm mainly a photog for music events, but have background in video and editing from previous work ten years ago and still keep warm with the technologies, but shooting and directing is something I've not done since college because Event Photography feels very natural for me. So yea, going to binge your videos and if you have any books or other content I should take on board, please do let me know.
Love hearing that! Let us know if there is anything you're specifically wondering about! We've got a TON of content on this channel and also do a weekly live film review on thursdays (tonight!) 9pm eastern. We've also got many more BTS videos in the works with wedding season starting up. Hope to see you around more ! - Bobby
Great video! I filmed my sons wedding using a BMPCC 6K and a DJI RS2. Set it to raw and auto white balance and used a focus wheel. The RS2 does the flip down handle thing as well. Nice about BMPCC is that I use DR for post and can adjust any white balance.
jesus, how big was that project? 1tb?
Great BTS. For being a solo shooter like me you seem very relaxed. Thx for some tips and tricks :). Looking forward to another one.
Glad you felt it was helpful. More to come from Bobby and Jason -Jared
I haven't enjoyed one of these BTS videos since KA days.. Great job! Also the bride's fit was amazing!
Big compliment man, I appreciate it. More to come. -Jared
SO EXCITED!
less goooo
Thank u for this knowledge
this was awesome man thanks my first weddings Friday wish me luck!
Great Video ! Thank you.
Glad you liked it!
good stuff, I have shot a couple weddings but had a second shooter so that was really helpful. You have great tips.
A second shooter is great. Most of our weddings have at least an assistant.-Jared
Great content guys!
Thanks Derek!
Love the way you do! 😊
Thanks! -Jared
Excellent BTS!! Great work guys!!
Thanks Evan!
@@WeddingFilmSchool you’re welcome! Splitting the feed from the DJ to the H6 was clutch by the way. Not sure why I haven’t thought of this.
Super helpful. 👏🏻👏🏻. You make solo shooting appear so seamless and stress-free. True sign of a professional.
It’s all about experience man. Having fun creates a comfortable setting for the couple to enjoy. It makes for good energy on camera. -Jared
Great tips!!
Thanks for the tips & trick
No problem! - Bobby
Thank you so much
Brilliant!
nice tutorial bro. im came from philippines. my using camera is fujifilm xt100 and 50mm lens for my wedding client.
great content again!
🤙
Thank you!! For the video
Thankgod! Fujifilm finally being featured!! They're so underrated imo
Agreed!!!
Thanks dude. Helpful
Glad it helped
Awesome content
Thank you very much
You are welcome
Very cool to go bts with you. Would really love some more content like this! 👍🏻
We plan on it now that our wedding season is kicking off again. We have a California wedding planned with Bobby as well as a Livestream BTS planned with Jason. Both in May. -Jared
@@WeddingFilmSchool that’s great to hear, can’t wait to see it!
GREAT VIDEO
🙌🙌
Wonderful
The classic gimbal landmine 😂 been there before
It was a bad spot for me to drop it. Luckily, Katherine works on the StopGoLove team so no harm no foul. -Jared
awesome video 🔥🔥
Thanks 🔥
Thank you for this, man! I'm shooting a wedding for the very first time and this helps a lot! 🙌
That’s why we do what we do. Have you had a chance to check out the podcast?
@@WeddingFilmSchool Not yet! I will do it soon! 👍
Hi from Mumbai India. Great work very Informative. Thank you
👍👍
Thanks 🏆
No prob!
I Love this so much.. Great video... but where's the actual wedding film??? I'd love to see it all together!! Have Missed the link somewhere?
Bravo !!!!
THanks a lot :)
Love the video. I would liked if u gave the detail in those shots to the lower right corner the specific lens u were using
Search for our film breakdown videos on this channel! We show a finished film and break down each shot with the gear used to capture each shot
me encanto por que es el equipo de camara y estabilizador que yo quiero tal cual
Love from India (Assam )❤
I like walking photo..😅 show loads of emotion.. i even repeat with new composition
I think the thing I dislike is that I usually don't have the best angle for these shots. Gimbal is the play but I don't really like it even when I'm doing photo. Some people do it well though! -Jared
Fantastic video!!! Do you ever use shotgun mics on camera? Are you always manual focusing? Your hand held footage is great. Are you shooting at 24p
I don't anymore however, it may have been helpful for the reading of the letters here.
YESSS!
hey hey
I liked that you used Fuji System, I am looking for upgrade as I am using Sony APSC for video and Nikon for lenses.. Thinking for Sony Full frame camera like a7 3 but I think Fuji Crop will do that job very well.
Fuji is great but I also wouldn't hate the new fx3! -Jared
bravo
Hi, Thank you for the great video, any link on Amazon for the "frag tiles" ? Thanks
Hello from Germany 🇩🇪
Hello! It's late for you! Thanks for joining in! -Jared
Plus, with the how big that fractal ring is, you can make the bride feel inferior about the size of her engagement ring... 🤣 Great video, man - super-informative and fun!
Great video, do any of you shoot photo and video as a hybrid package at weddings?
Yessir! The photographer on this wedding works on staff at our company StopGoLove. I also shoot photography as well. -Jared
I feel you... I did a couple of solo video shooting and the tripod with 2 cameras on it was my best friend. It did a wide and a zoom, then i just managed the gimbal.
Haha that's one way to do it!
Super video! I applauded for $5.00 👏👏
Thank you!!
Such a great BTS! Would you say it's best to shoot everything in 60p and then slow down to 24p to get some light slow motion in post?
Depends on what you want to make! We do it both ways depending on the edit. I can tell the difference between 24 and 60 and I don’t think it’s that hard to switch so I often switch for speeches and anything I KNOW I want normal speed. That’s being said, many many wedding filmmakers shoot 60 ALL DAY, and that’s ok too. 60 takes more storage and battery, so that’s one thing to keep in mind. Def personal preference here for the most part though. - Jay
Such a useful video, thanks! Just wondering, I’ve had some real issues with knowing which port on the soundboard to plug my pcm recorder into. Is there a standard port that you try to plug into?
Anything that says “output” “source” or “line” is a good port -Jared
Thanks , love it
Please tel me about video lights model 😊

Awesome content! I'm still a bit confused why do you take more advantage of the gimbal?
its a fine question. Probably personal preference. I prefer a more hand held feel. - Jared
I might be the minority here but I’ve shot nothing but solo wedding videos and until today, have never watched someone else’s solo wedding shooting process. This is a great representation. I was super relieved to see my years of trial and error landed me somewhere in the ballpark of what to do and what not to do! That being said, QUESTION: A video specifically on wedding video audio; sound boards, working with DJs for audio, quarter inch out, line mics, splitting, etc. Would be super helpful if you guys haven’t done a video on that already! I feel like perfecting audio is the final frontier for wedding videographers and needs major recognition!!
You got it bud. We have done videos like that on the channel but we def can do an update.
eres un crack
Thanks so much - can we see the final version?
Dropping this Friday -Jared
@@WeddingFilmSchool Awesome

@@WeddingFilmSchool great, Thanks
Great video!!! If you can only take one lens to a wedding and film all day and night.... What lens would you choose or buy?
Funny you should ask! We tested that theory in another video with the tamron 35-150 and are currently doing a similar video with the 28-75. I still think I'm mainly on a 50mm though
S/o to hand held shooting !
What camera picture profile do you use? STD, NAT, log, Cine D, etc.?
We have our third wedding shoot next month and another one in September. Super nervous!
You got this!
I cringed at the Chinese food haha I usually just wait til dinner at the reception and eat there. Great BTS!
Caleb, our BTS shooter got some and I was sucked into ordering when I saw his lol -Jared
Excellent how to video! I was curious though. Why did you put your bail out camera so low on the dances?
I like a low wide shot personally. it means the photographer is not going to get tripods in their close-ups. It also means I’m going to get a lot of ceiling which in this case looked incredible. I don’t like to show a lot of floor because it’s pretty boring in most cases
This was awesome! One quick question. You're using 3 cameras but where does your gimbal go when you're shooting hand held?
We'll need to shoot a video with the rig. The gimbal goes on a tripod to double as the wide shot. It's essentially a zyhiun crane quick adapter attached to a Manfrotto quick plate. This means I can pull off my wide shot to get gimbal work in a single second.
I have a large messenger bag, where I can put the camera with a gimbal inside if not used.. I have my main camera on a tripod or a monopod..
If A gimbal camera isn’t being used I'd usually just have it set up on the ground until I’m ready to move to a new position. I wouldn’t want to put it back in a bag. Back means slower access and potentially thrown off balance on the gimbal. Not sure if that answers your question
Do you keep the gimbal on when it's on the tripod? Great content by the way!
It depends on the shot. If I need it to have a little bit of tilt then I keep it on. The batteries are great on the Weebil S. Usually I turn it off for the ceremony because I can just lock it off and have it be a straightforward shot. -Jared
@@WeddingFilmSchool awesome thanks!
awesome, I shoot on xt4 also, what profile are you using ?
Provia Standard! Our LUT is set at 25% so nothing crazy. Full film comes out tomorrow.
Would you mind share your Fujifilm XT4 setting for video shoots? Including file output, shutter, iso, focus, etc. Thank youuuu!
Shutter, iso, and focus will change per shot but we were shooting 4K 60p for a majority of the day h264 .mov files. PROvia Film simulation. -Jared
Wooohooo
yeeeeee. What did you think?
Nice video! What bag is it you use on the holdfast plus how to do you attach it. Love the set up. Thanks
Jared mentions the bag when he talks about the holdfast and his setup, can't remember exact timing - Bobby
@@WeddingFilmSchool thanks I can’t get the name sounds like owner?
It’s the ONA Bowery Bag -Jared
I was panicking, going through all the other wedding filmmaking channels. Everyone with Canon 1DX MK3, Sony FX3...and I'm starting out with Fuji XS10. Finally someone with a Fuji filming weddings, makes me feel less like a pleasant.
Gear is important but is rarely the limiting factor of a good wedding film
We just did an interview with a really great Filmmaker name Ryan Brown from forged in the north. He shoots Fuji. We also interviewed Victor Ha on the podcast who works for Fuji. - Jay
@@WeddingFilmSchool thank you! This cheered me up! I bought the X-S10 a few months ago, if I knew I would have gone for the XT3. Now it's done, I'll just grab a couple lenses and wait on the xt5
@@WeddingFilmSchool What made you switch to Fuji, if I may ask? Was it the context, you needed to sold gear due to c19, or its about passion and film style?
Do you use IBIS when on the Weebill-S? I always find it is always a comprise between getting rid of micro-jitters but a downside of having the occasional flick of the X-T4's IBIS trying to catch up with camera movement.
I do, haven’t had that much issues with it yet. -Jared
What going lightweight means in different cultures varies vastly! I fit 2 cameras, 3 lenses, sound gear, lights and stands(if needed), small tripod in a Lowepro 400 backpack...and I think it's almost too much gear!
It’s relative to our normal rig, which is twice as big.- Jay
Thank you! please provide link of the gears used in the video please. especially camera strap and light. thanks
I believe we have the light but if you head to kinotehnik.com you can the get Practilite 602 for 25% off using our code WFS25 on checkout. It’s a great light! - Jay
@@WeddingFilmSchool Thank you so much. Much appreciated
Oh and here's the strap! geni.us/AbCVs
Puoi dare indicazioni sulla valigia delle attrezzature?
Did you use IBIS with the lens OIS for those hand held shots?
just Ibis! I don't think the 16-55 has OIS. The 18-55 does
19:10 i am glad that the gimbal was not on concrete ;D
Totally agree. Gimbal land mines aren’t ideal on hard surfaces
Just a quick question. In the beginning when shooting the detail shots of the dress, jewellery are you using the ibis? I have the 18-55 ois and that combo it's just making everything really weird and jerky but I guess it would be less of a problem if i zoom in. Love you wedding videos... Best TV ever!
I'll let Jared reply here hopefully but for me I do have ibis on with my handheld setup. I shoot sony however and Jared is on the fuji film XT series but yah. Really comes down to personal preference I'd say though, there's no wrong or right just see which accomplishes the look you prefer! -Bobby
@@WeddingFilmSchool Hey Bobby! Thx for the feedback bro! Yeah let Jared know 🤗 I’m curious which way I should go - ibis or no ibis…
Thank u for some Fuji System wedding BTS always wanted to find out how they fare in this kind of set-up...Would have loved to hear just a brief take on the experience though if u experienced any hick-ups overheating or anything like that?
They are great cameras! We have def found they CAN overheat when you shoot 4K60 with IBIS and AF on but we have found if you just monitor it (it has a warning icon) and turn off the IBIS and AF when your not using it it’s very manageable. I personally have never had one overheat btw. - Jay
@@WeddingFilmSchool Thanks for the feedback man ....I love Fuji cams and I guess It would be nice upgrade to the Xt4 as am still using my XT2 for stills but enjoying it in the meantime as I grow too in the industry...Thank u
The new firmware essentially prevents them from overheating to the point of stopping the recording. You may get the indicator around 15 to 20 minutes of non-stop recording but it hasn’t been a problem for me. -Jared
Wow it's awesome I appreciate it please I need a good teacher to be like you guys please help me out please
Can u tell me you settings? shoot in 4k 60fps oder 1080 120fps? Or is there a Video of u tzalking about that?
I believe this was all 4K60. I don’t really see a lot of need for 120fps personally. -Jared
awesome! what film simulation do you use.
Hey Okiki! Check out our guy John Stambaugh here on YT. He's got a great LUT that we used on this video
@@WeddingFilmSchool thanks you
20:03
Were u using continous af for these gimbal clips? :)
Continuous with face detection! -jared
Did my first solo wedding last year and I was a beast of an experience lol. To say it was tedious and took a lot of on the fly adjustments is an understatement lol. Back then I had a little G100 which is more of a vlogging camera but it came out pretty ok. Now I have a big boy S5. Would the G100 be ok for the secondary? It does do 4k 60 but it's cropped and 8 bit. Also did you shoot in some kind of log or was this a more normal picture profile?
I would think that G 100 would be perfectly fine as a second camera. Obviously it kind of depends on what you tell your clients but it’s definitely nothing that should be off the table. In terms of how we shoot, this film was shot in pretty much a standard picture profile but we should log for some weddings. It really depends on the brand that we’re shooting and the level of post production we want to do on the film. There’s definitely nothing wrong with shooting in a delivery ready picture profile. People get obsessed with shooting log and often times don’t even really know what problem they are solving by shooting log. If you are shooting log and you love it then keep doing it but if you were shooting in a standard profile and you and your clients love it and keep doing that. - Jay
@@WeddingFilmSchool thanks so much for the response!!! Looking at your behind the scenes showed me i need to be a bit more like assertive to help me get better footage. Not too assertive lol but i was absolutely passive my first time. Yeah it was good enough to land me a second gig this year! Yeah I'm not too crazy about log most clients don't care about pretty much anything as long as it sounds and looks good. One more question. Was the majority of your footage shot on the gimbal or handheld and have you ever done one fully handheld? Asking bc the S5 seems so much more smooth than that G100 that I haven't used my gimbal since. Also I have a FeiyuTech and it's nowhere near as versatile as that one you're using here
Do you ever use VND filters? Or just change the aperture? We are on the fence about purchasing an VND with a step up ring and could use a some insight. Thank you! (Going to finish the video now)
I (Bobby) Do sometimes but sometimes they are more hassle than they are worth as they can slow you down. I just crank my shutter if I need to
@@WeddingFilmSchool Thank you so much for the insight on that! We’ve cranked the shutter at times before and haven’t noticed much of a difference since we slow everything down for the most part.
It's something that other filmmakers may be able to pick out but rarely would clients notice. It's just another thing that people get all wrapped up in, and while yes, using a vnd probably produces the most "pure" result, getting the most pure result is not necessarily the right decision
@@WeddingFilmSchool Understood. Thank you for taking some time to reply and share some extra knowledge with us. We are currently binge watching a lot of your guy’s educational videos and bts! Love the bts videos by the way. Keep them coming please!
Hi! Are you using a 23mm f/2, 23mm f/1.4 ?
Hi! We use the f1.4. Great lens. -Jared
Did you use the default mic which comes with the zoom F2 or did you use your mic of choice?
I forget at this point but we use the mic from zoom regularly. They’re fine. -Jared
