Just rewatching this for the second or third time and now that I shoot weddings myself I'm struck by how calm you are and how easy you make this look. Very impressive!
Internal image stabilization. You can even have 2 modes of stabilization on, depending on the camera and the lens. GH5 with panasonic lenses has both lens image stabilization, and in-body electronic stabilization.
Last time I did video with dslr mirrorless 55-200mm and 22mm on monopod and gopro with gimble. What are your thoughts about potential limitations of this setup. I was aiming to be versatile. eg it was due to this setup that allowed me to catch close up of couple reception entrance (dslr) and first dance, (gopro wide) without fidgeting.
Any aversion to using LED lights mounted on all cameras? Then you're covered with nice white front light from every camera angle. Amazon sells L brackets for mounting both external mic and LED light on the cameras' hot shoes.
Wonderfull BTS as always, thanks for so usefull way to work. One question. Could you connect the tascam using a xlr to xlr ... from board to tascam, to catch audio. Thanks
Excellent work! Which focus length do you prefer when you use the gibal on shots like at 16:27? I have a 14mm,20mm and 35mm prime lenses so I don't now what to choose every time. Also at ceremony when you are alone do you put on tripod in the middle a camera with the 85mm (like at 18:58) or you try to avoid the risk of falling the tripod by somenone?
Kraig, thanks for the good video! Big take away for me was to intentionally introducing candles and create shadows in static shots. I’m a videographer always looking to improve and further develop our style for our films. Do you have any recommendations on how to get hired as a second shooter? How do you find your second shooters? If your ever filming an event in Colorado, it would be a pleasure working with you as your second, or as an assistant. Thank you! -Jake
This video by Kraig contains almost if not the full ceremony: th-cam.com/video/U9rYw3kkyLQ/w-d-xo.html : it's his most in-depth BTS. (There are 4 parts, the one linked is 3/4)
Could you kindly show me your full wedding i.e. a complete wedding video? So that I can see how your final product looks like what you deliver to your client.
This was excellent. I loved and learned some better ways of planning and executing my shots. I also got some good working relationship tips between you and your crew by observing your approach to things. I really enjoyed your tutorial class.
Hey guys my name is Carlos Barroso from Cleveland Tn, thank you for creating this fantastic content. I have been a professional for just over nineteen years but I find my self fascinated by the filming side. Thank you both because I a have learned a ton! Keep it Cracken! Thanx Carlos
These BTS videos are strangely satisfying...great work.
