How have so many people missed that bro is talking about the franchise as a whole? It's not specifically about the movie or comics it's about watchmen.
Pay attention and it's not confusing. We also just actively ignoring the fact bro is clearly taking the piss. Why are people assuming this is supposed to be a hard hitting piece on watchmen 😂

why does how long you've been alive for have a bearing on how people perceive Watchmen? You could be 10 years old, or 99 years old and it wouldn't affect the content of this video.

15:07 I'd argue Rorschach agreed with what Ozymandias did though.
Rorschach in the comic is Alan Moore's critique of Mr. A and The Question's hardline, black and white, objectivist philosophy. He's basically portrayed as an emotionally stunted, right wing nutjob and a hypocrite(tries to downplay Comedian assaulting Silk Spectre I, justifies bombing Hiroshima while outwardly condemning what Ozymandias did). The Hiroshima thing isn't in the movie I think(this video seems more based on the movie), but it completely changes how his death comes across.
He comes across like deep down, he thought it was justified, It's just his moral code couldn't let him admit that, so he chose let Dr. Manhattan kill him so he didn't have to. The idea is that the black and white morally that Rorschach claims to have is childish and can't stand of to actual reality.

I'd argue that rorschach is a poor portrayal of the beliefs of The question as they stand but a good character in his own right. And to say that he's "right wing" because he encouraged two terrible things that happened to a women and several minorities is kinda cringy and a stretch...

      @lordofthecats6397 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@@welpimf0cked654 I don't think OP is basing Roschach being "right wing" on those things alone. The comics elaborate the philosophy of "The New Frontiersman" much more than the movie does, and I believe any reasonable person would agree that it is strongly right-wing. Roschach trusted them above all other media when dropping off his journal, which means his beliefs are very much in-line.

They only called the team " The Watchmen" in the movie. In the comics they would've been The Crime Busters except the team never gets started after the Comedian shows up and rains on Captain Metropolis parade. Go read the comics they are an entirely different perspective than the fake fan Snyder version.

There are many similarities to characters from books.
Nightowl is like D'artagnan while Ozymandias is like the ambitious side of Edmond Dantes. Rohrschach is the destructive side of Dantes soul. The Comedian would fit in John Silver and Manhattan like Zarathustra.

Just something to note, Aspergers is an outdated and disgusting term as it was coined by a German scientist who lobotomized and tortured autistic people. We really HATE that term.
Second, as a high functioning autistic person who has researched a ton and met many others like myself, I have no idea where this idea of “seeing things only in black and white” somehow correlates with autism? It doesn’t. If anything I find that we question more about the morality of things in far more depth than “normal people,” as you say.
He does have a personality disorder and severe PTSD, but no, I do not believe he has autism. His beliefs and attitude are not very representative of autism spectrum at all.
Also, I know this was not mentioned but the HBO version of him being reconseptualized as a neo faction of the Klan can come off as incredibly offensive to those who are only aware of his character though that series.
But the whole objectivism philosophy tends to appeal to social conservatives who are all into Darwinism and other bullshit, which we generally have a great dislike for. Yes, we are super focused on our special interest, but we don’t lack empathy. In fact, a lot of us are over empathetic and tend to come across as cold or distant because it’s overwhelming. We are definitely not “black and white” thinkers.

I'll be honest, I disagree with you in some points, Rorsarch rarely kills, we find alot of people in jail who were sent by him and hell he even said "men go to jail, dogs get put down",Rorsarch only kills when it's something very fucked up.

I like the video but rorschach has a bad sense of justice to the point he's a big reactionary type person, who's racist but realistically so. I understand if you like him from a character writing perspective but he shouldn't be mystified like batman or superman. Everyone in that comic is a bad person and should be seen as such.
Again liked the video the editing was on point and I liked how you broke each character down but I'd also say showing more of the bad side of these characters would of helped the video I think.

I hate how a lot of people overlook this part of the story when talking about Watchmen. The message isn't that "superheroes suck", but rather that they wouldn't work in real life and are better off left in the realm of fantasy. There is nothing wrong with casually enjoying this fantasy as an adult (like Dan does in his own twisted way), but it becomes a problem once you start considering it a solution to real life problems

Rorschach does *not* have a great sense of justice. Not only is he a fascist, but he openly supported the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Also, Dr Manhattan *doesn't* really agree with what Ozymandias did. He's willing to kill to protect the secret before leaving, but he doesn't see it as something that can be maintained. That's why the last thing he says to Ozzy is "nothing ever ends."
We see that later when the New Frontiersmen (a far-right rag) gets Rorschach's journal. It's not "hopeful." It means that all the people Ozzy killed will have died for absolutely nothing.

You keep bringing up the book but that's not how the book ends that's how the movie ends. Also you could bring up the file on rorsarch in between issues right after he got arrested. If it only was the movie version of rorsarch you wanted to cover you did a good job but if you're going to bring up the book you better do some research. Also the message is far from "super hero properties suck look how cool watchmen is" but that's a whole other conversation.
