This was such a fun show! Definitely considering going next year. Matt that you bought your NeXTcube from is the same guy who hooked me up with the P5 Glove I just covered on LGR, haha. I was eyeing up that Cube as soon as I got there, you got a stellar deal.
Enjoy the new episode! And I hope to see you at VCFMW next year! Special thanks to Brian and Macnician, The 8-Bit Guy, Free Geek Twin Cities, and my friend Dylan-for filming! Also, we release new tech videos every week, so please subscribe and click the *Bell* so we can send new videos to your device.
the crossover finally happened. it seems as if 8bit guy is always busy lol. awesome video though. looking forward to seeing those beasts in future vids
Ken's logic: Cannot justify buying one of them after buying an iPhone. Somehow justifies getting both of them. This...well it's exactly the kind of shit I pull off too. Glad I'm not the only one doing that
This was my first convention I've ever went to and it was one of the best experiences in my entire LIFE!!! I decided to experience my first convention as an exhibitor too, thought I'd go all out! My table is at 1:45 in the video and it consisted of the IBM with the rare Motorola terminal monitor (which I traded for an Atari 520 ST late that night). My table also had some luggables and the Sun systems, which I now know how that text got there, lol! Thank you so much too for the small interview at 15:27, I was wondering who's channel had the cameraman, sorry I didn't have any immediate information about Tandy machines as I'm only 19 and still learning! With a little research, your Model III should be fine, just needs a lot of internal brightness and contrast adjustments as the raster is off, shouldn't be a capacitor problem. I can't wait for this years convention if it still happens, and if it does then this is the only place that I'll mention that I will likely be bringing my newly gotten extremely rare Atari XC1411 prototype monitor! I hope to see you there again this year!
The entire TH-cam fame thing is so cute. lol. However...SO COOL seeing the 1701D Minecraft guy!!!!! A guy handed me a TH-cam business card while i was in line at Ralphs.
@@ComputerClan we will be at Tandy Assembly in Springfield, OH, September 28-29. The talks and exhibits are about any computer made by Tandy/Radio Shack and modern upgrades and software for these systems. Some of these systems include TRS-80s, CoCos, the nearly-PC compatible computers like the Tandy 1000, pocket computers and more. It's a much smaller show than VCFMW and has a higher technical focus (if you can imagine that's even possible).
@@ComputerClan lol, I'm the guy walking behind you in the parking lot. I had bought cables, a c16 & c+4, I was probably just bringing one of those purchases back to my car.
Ah! Matt and Steve! Probably the two nicest collector-types involved at the Twin Cities FreeGeek. I've played with many a Mac from Steve. So glad you could have an encounter with them.
Man, I'll admit, it's so hard watching this now. Obviously they made the right decision to not have a physical VCF Midwest this year, but still, I was so looking forward to meeting you. Hopefully things will calm down by next year, and they'll be able to make it happen.
Now that's my kind of crowd. Man, a drive to Illinois would be fun, but a bit too far at this point. It would be more than awesome to see you at the Vintage Computer Festival East. Only an hour and a half drive for me then.
You got both! that is awesome. It was nice meeting you, looks like you have a great channel! Enjoy the cube, glad it went to a good home. I actually ended up buying the molar mac from Brian. :)
Ken mentioned me! Ken mentioned me! :D Funny thing is, I actually recently got one of the grey Spectrum +2s shown in the video in for a restoration project. Coming soon. ;)
Between 2001 and 2004, at home, I had: - SGI O2 - SGI Octane 2 - Sun Ultra 60 - Sun Ultra 5 - Digital Alpha Personal Workstation It was fun to use them, then I had to sell them.
I’m in Illinois and if you need a solder guy to help fix damaged caps or trouble shooting please reach out. I’m not looking for money I just love your content and shit I grew up with.
I'm sad that I didn't see you there; I had no idea you were going to be there at all! Had I known, I would have looked for you. Oh well, maybe I'll see you there next year.
Very interesting video, but please tell your cameraman to keep the camera still!! He/she was all over the place and framing was inconsistent. However, enjoyed the content so I subbed.
I know it wasn't ideal, but our main rig didn't fit in the tiny halls x_x So we had to switch to a backup rig, and we only had a tight lens for it. Oops. Thanks for watching though.
Very cool and really great job! I feel like I was there! Seriously! And I want a Computer Clan biz card! Oh, wait, i'm already a subscriber! Never mind!

@@ComputerClan I watched the Early Access at like 1:30am. The dream involved travelling to a venue for *some* event and going down a lot of hallways. The dream wasn't too long considering i slept for only ~3.5 hours.
I really enjoyed the content of the episode.. but the camera work was highly distracting. It seems like whoever was operating the camera spent the entire time fighting with a gimbal, which means we spent more time looking at the wall or Ken's face instead of the thing they he was actually talking about. Next time, I suggest that you leave the gimbal at home and just use a regular old camera.
Please understand this is not the norm. Usually, I would never settle for this. I know it wasn't ideal, but it's better than nothing. Here's what happened… the gimbal wasn't much of the issue. The issue was we were stuck with a 50mm lens on a crop sensor. I had a completely different rig in mind (a legit $5,000+ mega-rig), but it could not be maneuvered through the small spaces. I never scoped the area before, so I was completely unprepared. My buddy had a spare rig, but he only had one lens-a 50mm. His camera body was an E-mount, so none of my EF glass would work. We tried our best : c

Worry about getting one? Save the worry and get both! 😂
At least the Next Cube is probably going up in value, can't say the same for the phone. He probably has a new one already.
Curious if the optical drive was working on the Cube. That'd be a slight miracle if it was.

How’s the stability on 13?
So far so good.
