Watching this video right now because I'm seething mad about a current situation in my life. Did the deep breathing, and it really helps to think rationally.

Thank you Barbara. So helpful. Came just after a situation where I hope I used anger "skilfully" when usually gets stuffed, silenced. Feel isolated depressed.
Emotions beneath anger so valid. Often end up feeling let down, hurt, depressed, fearful, not getting needs or wanted outcome met.
Applies to all relationships, not just personal ones.
Also, what we have any control over & what we do not vital but not always clear.
Look forward to your other anger videos
We can fawn as well as fight flight or freeze. Having grown up with an abusive violent Father I fear anger in myself & others. This is not healthy. Toxic people, controllers & manipulators hone in on this to extend the pattern of abuse. I cannot believe I am 66 & still having to deal with manipulative & controlling people that try to make out you are crazy when stand in truth. Definitely need to "awaken to joy."

Yes, Sumina - I agree with your comments! I'm also sorry you still have to deal with manipulative people. To a certain extent, we all do since we can't fully escape them. I do feel that recognizing them early is key! Thank you for sharing and I wish you the best!

Wow! I've never thought of anger in that way, i.e. in relation to what I want to accomplish. This is a totally new perspective for me on anger. Thank you Barbara.

Thank you for this, learning so much...! Looking forward to learning more in 2nd half. I blew up a relationship with a man I loved deeply bc of my immediate anger. Working hard so this never happens again. I'm a good person but needed to learn to put the brakes on my runaway train!🚂

@theroxiekat Sadly, me too. I’m in pain and devastated. I lashed out on my ex couple times and the last one pushed him away and now he’s engaged. I have so much regret and it’s a very hard pill to swallow.

    Can to cover RELIGIOUS TRAUMA?
I was raised VERY strict PENTECOSTAL and alway told I was going to Hell for tiny things. I.e wearing a bathing suit, not wearing panty hose, wearing makeup, coloring hair.😭
