The issue of 'bushmeat' is worse than you describe. Far from being a sustenance activity, the bushmeat trade is largely one of status and 'luxury.' Wealthy/middle-class Africans and African expats abroad fuel this devastating, unsustainable practice. Duikers, fruit bats and chimpanzees are not the only food sources available to local people (who are not usually the consumers anyway.)
Please do a lecture on self replicating vaccines and duel use research and when good intentions go bad. And where did vaccinia virus come from, did people spread it to animals?
You seem to be contradicting the extensive senate report on the origins of the virus. Can you please explain why this report is incorrect? There is also other substantial evidence indicating gain of function origin. Please provide the evidence fir your view point?
the document is an expansion of the summary published at the end of last year. It is political document containing little science and is of little merit, no worth the time and effort to refute it line-by-line.
@@christopherrobinson7541 I am a bit disappointed with your response. But looking forward to Rancaniello's rationale for zoonotic origin. This opinion is certainly swimming against the evidence particulatly given Fauci's desperation and influence for any support in this direction.
THANK you

All research is dual use, that's why the world has so many problems.

@@stephenandrews4107 I've yet to see phenotypic analysis which suggests any origin other than zoonotic
What about the US senate would leave you to believe it to be a credible source of information for events outside the country, nevermind within it?
Maybe you should head back to lecture 1 and start there. It doesn’t sound like you have a very sound grasp of this topic.
