We married 1972.....my best friend went “to a far off land” 2016. She’s still “the one I love” and always will be. We are amongst those who look to the promise of “the meek shall inherit the earth and live forever on it “ so I must behave and then we can be together again on this earth. Waiting, with a clear hope is so much better than those totally bereft.
I was in bed very much in pain all day and my husband of 45 years came and ask me if I have heard a song which he send to me so I listen to you song and every thing has changed I was in tears soon after ,I never thought that he is romantic I still am in pain but it’s ok it’s bearable thanks gays
I love the close-harmony vocals from these excellent musicians, it almost seems like a dying art these days, The Petersons are fabulous at it and we all are grateful

This is a throw back family, in the 20s 30s 40s and even the 50s it was common for a family to be close like this. Our whole society was built on family units like this.
It takes a lot of courage for anyone to try and cover this song because Shania Twain sang this so beautifully. I can truly say I enjoyed listening to Ellen’s cover just as much. It is that good!!! A lot of credit of course goes to the other Petersen’s as well.

My sweetie has stuck with me for 44 years. I married up and I'm a blessed man.
As part of our 55th anniversary celebration, we drove to Branson just to see them, and hear them in person. We requested that Ellen sing this to us. The family dedicated it to our love and sang it to us in person. This was a bucket list item for us and our over half century of loving each other. I play the mandolin as a hobby, and love Their music. This family is the real deal of the Bluegrass music family. Talent, brains, beauty, and genuine American. Thank you for making our anniversary so memorable. We love you guys. If you ever get a chance to see and hear them in person, don’t miss it!

Greetings from Germany. 2 years ago we started to make a one year Roadtrip with my wife trough the USA, we drove 32.000 miles to see 44 states and we made it to the most western point of the USA (Anchor Point Kenai Peninsula Alaska), the most eastern point (at the Canadian Border in Maine), the most northern point of the USA (Deadhorse, Prudhoe Bay Alaska), the most southern point (Key West Florida), the deepest point (Badwater Basin death Valley California) and the highest point (Pikes Peak Colorado) that you can reach by car.
If I hear this song and see these young people, for me this sums up what's the best of the USA in a way. It was an important part of the soundtrack of our trip and we will never forget this time in our entire life. Thank you for the music.

Wow, listen Emmett´s dobro-riff in 3:11! That´s cool! I am not normally focussed on dobro, but IMHO Emmett is one of the best dobro-players in the world and his feeling and sound are amazing.

My wife and I will celebrate our 60th Anniversary this August 12 th. Our 3 daughters, grandsons and 2 granddaughters will be here early on July 30 to celebrate early. At our private party, I have asked them to play this song ( show video if possible) and another of yours because we are new and dedicated fans. God is good and has blessed this long journey. We still run to each other, and to Christ as He has made this possible. Love you Peterson family.

Yesterday I linked this to a FB post celebrating the anniversary of marriage to my beautiful wife Debbie. When my wife and I were dating a neighbor of hers told her that it would never work out between us as I had a college degree and she had only gone through the eighth grade. From our first date until our wedding was only nine months. We've been happily married for almost 40 years until the angels came to take her away from me this January. I am an expatriate living in Thailand with my Thai wife. We lived in Pennsylvania for 40 years and we been married for 48. The words of this song are beautiful and it expresses how much I love my wife. This family gives me hope for our children and grandchildren living in America. I love the beautiful harmony. I met my wife when I was stationed in Thailand during the Vietnam war. God bless you guys.

I think that Ellen can sing any style of music great. She is incredibly gifted and versatile. She has one of the best female voices out there today.
