    That Vault Tile has changed......you use to have to roll the dice to Unlock the Vault first before you get the two items....

      Good catch, I noticed that too! It was a pretty tough test too as I recall.

    This was a fun watch. Very helpful. Would've appreciated if the camera work was a little more in on the action, so it would be easier to follow along. Nevertheless, I enjoyed it. Subscribed!

    I just bought the game so your video was beneficial. However, I would of preferred a larger/complete board game frame and smaller PIP of you guys ..no offence but I feel the visual interest is the game, not the players. The audio would of sufficed.

    Should he really be there when they are reading their part, or them when he's reading his part?

      Hey David - great question! We did this somewhat correctly, but also somewhat incorrectly. The new edition actually does call out that the Traitor should stay at the table while both teams read the introduction and setup steps of the Haunt. This would include the addition of the Demon and Horror tokens, and how Spooky has the book in hand, for instance. I (Andy) concealed Spooky's statistics and abilities correctly, but I probably should not have known all the mechanics of how the other players could steal the book or which rooms they could burn it in - not that it did me any favors this time ;)
      The accurate thing to do would be to clearly identify the Setup section in each tome and make sure that was all we read before the Traitor leaves the table.
      Thanks for watching!

    I thought in the rule book it said to roll 6 die when making haunt rolls

    • @BoardGameBarrister
      @BoardGameBarrister  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question! That is indeed how the haunt roll works in the 2nd Edition version of the game. For this video, we were playing the new 3rd Edition of the game, where they changed the haunt roll a bit:
      "To make a haunt roll, count the total number
      of Omens held by all players and roll that many
      dice. On a result of 5+, the haunt begins! "

    • @kdub175
      @kdub175 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@BoardGameBarrister ahhh so basically the haunts will start much faster? 5+ is not much time tbh.

    • @BoardGameBarrister
      @BoardGameBarrister  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@kdub175 It actually felt comparable to 2nd edition in terms of how many dice rolls we had before our haunt occurred. If the average result for each die is 1 (because their six possible results are 0 0 1 1 2 2), then my roll of 5 on four dice was a little on the high side, and a result of 3 on the previous edition would have been a little on the low side but would still have triggered the haunt. All that said, I totally agree that it felt like the haunt came on fast in our game, probably in part because we were finding LOTS of omens early on.
      Thanks for watching!

      @@BoardGameBarrister yeah it was like Omen almost every time lol…”who was in charge of shuffling!?” haha very fun to watch. I’ve only got to play 2 stories so far, idk why it’s hard to get it to the table with my family. They like party games more I guess. I feel this could be a good game for digital too.

    You all played Gymnasium wrong, since she didn't draw a card, she could have kept moving.

    • @BoardGameBarrister
      @BoardGameBarrister  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Randy, let's take a look here. When Elizabeth (Oliver) discovers the Gymnasium at 26:30, the room text reads, "When you discover this tile, gain one speed." She did so, and then ended her turn based on the final step in the "Discovering New Room Tiles" instructions in the rulebook, which reads "End your turn." This is flagged as a new rule in 3rd Edition though, and while I don't remember the exact sequence of discovering tiles in 2nd edition, perhaps it was a 2nd Edition rule that you could continue to explore after discovering a room with no card symbols.
      Let me know if there's something else I'm missing, and thank you for watching!

    • @randylewis840
      @randylewis840 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@BoardGameBarrister ah okay. Yes in 2nd edition and in Betrayal Legacy, if you have movement left and the tile doesn't require you to draw a card you do indeed get to keep moving. 😃
      I was over here going, 'Wait, didn't she still have moves left?'

    • @kdub175
      @kdub175 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      wow they really made some big changes then. I figured it was just cosmetic. So how do you feel about the changes? The Haunt requirements I guess prevent super early haunts, but also, could cause faster haunts overall. And then limiting the exploration makes it even harder to explore as much as possible before the haunt begins.

    • @BoardGameBarrister
      @BoardGameBarrister  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@kdub175 I really enjoyed the changes overall! The scenario cards were the biggest improvement in my opinion - adding a bit of a through line story to each game while also giving you the option to guarantee you don't repeat a haunt two games in a row if you play two separate scenarios.
