Outstanding video...well narrated and very helpful. I am getting ready to do my first one and this has been very helpful. Aprreciate the content. Cheers!
Hey, would be nice to know what book you used there to know all the torque specs etc. or did you just torque them down like you thought it would be good? I have a St50E engine myself and would like to rebuild it so would be nice if you responded.
@@Dave-fr6si Hey Dave, I have a clymer manual for the Honda engine series which covers a large range of engines from this era. It details full torque specs and assembly methods which is very handy.
I made the mistake of not using OEM first time round. You can use them but I do think OEM is always the best choice! ( for this engine on standard bore anyway)
Hi there, all engine parts are from shire bikes in the UK. CMSNL are also great For replacement parts! The only thing that can be an issue is cylinder head replacement as you saw from the video !
The problem with all the videos is, they don't tell you what they're doing and why. The part when he's putting the cylinder and head on, he has a freaking screwdriver through the head, and fast forwards through it. Rest of it is great. Wonder if I'll have parts availability issues here in the states.
Hello Austin, Thanks for the comment. Unfortunately this isn’t a step by step tutorial on how to reassemble a z50 engine. It is a detailed video that gives a strong overview of the process and covers many of the issues encountered. There is huge parts availability and knowledge out there. More so in the states than in the uk! If you need more detail to the why’s, I recommend picking up at manual and it will All make sense. Cheers

Hey Nick, glad you liked the video! Got a similar engine I will be rebuilding soon for the channel. Fingers crossed we don’t hit as many problems!

Have you replaced the piston rings? If so do you use OEM?
