ARC CEO: "We Must Re-Lay The Foundations Of The West"

  • “There was once a day in the West when we took seriously the extraordinary value and dignity of every human being.”
We live in the aftermath of a deconstruction revolution. What we once held to be self-evident has been forgotten. The legacy of the ‘long march through the institutions’ is all around us, manifested in a generation who have torn down the very frameworks that nurtured the prosperity they have inherited, and whose sense of identity is increasingly arbitrary and at the mercy of ‘progress’.
Baroness Philippa Stroud’s message to us is simple: take up the discarded legacy of our civilisational heritage and carry it forward into a brighter future.
Her call goes out to rally those who will “lead with courage and strength, and who will create and not complain, build and not tear down, who are relational and not extractive, and who understand that this is for the long term and not the short term.”
It is these people who will write our ‘better story’.

I wonder if the speaker actually wrote it. Or had any part. If doing so before the podium.

I’ve had a good life with many opportunities, why can’t we give our children that which I was lucky enough to have. My beginning was deprived and I never thought I would progress in so many ways. What’s not to like about that.

Where do I sign? Also I'd like an ARC Speaker to lay out a small set of simple clear principles to help me as I seek to do my part.

Abstractions serve to delineate concepts but don't actually change the world. The Gospel is the only idea--and fleshly reality--that can remake humanity.

You didn’t mention men with integrity, not controlled by a towering ego, when in the past did this perfect world exist ? It hasn’t, never. What about spirituality and Gods law. Mankind is flawed and will never change, we are incapable. It’s alway been about power , control and greed.

"When one generation no longer esteems its own heritage....the very foundational principles....are no longer valid" When we think about woke ideology as dangerous (and I agree that it is dangerous), we assign the "no longer esteems its own heritage" behaviour to the woke generation. And it's a logical assignation to make. We see it around us in the western world. However, in my opinion, it is an incomplete assignation of fault (if we are to seek fault in a generational dereliction of duty to its own heritage). Who else should we assign fault to? Past generations as well, in my opinion. Why? From the 20th century (perhaps even before that), the western world, in its leaders and in its electorates have allowed the pernicious rot of corruption to spread and sustain itself in what could have otherwise been a successful democratic-capitalist evolution of human society. Similarly, the decline of communism also allowed the human propensity for corruption to spread and sustain itself. And so the pendulum continues to swing and the only constant is the human tendency for corruption. This is why dangerous ideas take hold in otherwise burgeoning societies. Those who embrace them are at fault, as are those who allow blossoming societies to become infested with corruption. With capitalist societies, the corruption takes the form of wealth and power subjugating those less wealthy. In communist societies, it takes the form of totalitarian control by big government with an elite political class. If we are to re-lay the foundations of any society, let us not start with the demonisation of the adherents of dangerous ideologies - let us first ask, why people feel disenfranchised and become attracted to those dangerous ideas. Let us look at the root cause that keeps that pendulum of ideologies swinging...if we don't, it will swing forever and we will never evolve socially.

I agree with so much you say. But try to realize we don’t live in a democracy- it’s a money driven USA.
