I also grew up watching Sailor Moon on YTV back in the 90’s and I remembered going to school with pigtails. I’ve always loved Sailor Moon ever since I was a little girl growing up in Canada and I had very fond memories of imagining myself pretending to transform into Sailor Moon yelling Moon Prism Power and doing my Moon Tiara Magic. Ah, those were the fricken days!! 😊
Yesss! I love seeing other Canadians saying they watched Sailor Moon on YTV!! (If anyone else watched it on YTV please tell us here in the comments 🇨🇦)
I just got back from the museum! It was definitely smaller in scale than the one in Tokyo but so glad they're featuring this museum in various parts of Japan for folks who missed it!
Also a Canadian and very much enjoyed watching Sailor Moon on YTV. My first tattoo when I was sixteen was the Sailor Mercury symbol as she was my favourite as a kid. My younger sister had the Chibi Moon sceptre and played with it all the time when she was little.
Sailor moon was the first anime I saw when I was young and that was the first spark of me learning more and more about japan and loving everything about it. Anything Japanese just makes me feel safe and at home and very proper.
I think a lot of us from that era this was our first exposure to Japanese culture! I didn't know until I was much older that this was "anime" and came from Japan. I just thought it was "a cool cartoon" when I was growing up, haha.
One of my friends would go stir crazy here! She absolutely loves Sailor Moon. I grew up with it on Toonami when it played during the day on Cartoon Network.
I have a trip planned to Japan for the end of the year. I really wish they would continue the tour on more cities like in Hokkaido for example... Maybe I can still make it to Nagoya if everything works out.
so happy you made this video, I was in Osaka until 18 Apr I saw the ad about this in the subway and was so sad that i wont be able to attend. Love those merch :)
Grew up watching Sailor Moon and the banned episodes/series. Order some giant posters from Italy. Glad they had this exhibit - Love the attention to detail and the hard work you put into your content!
Definitely had the barbie doll of sailor moon and serena! Had like those blind box toy of serena as moon princess and possibly the wand the very first one she used to transform. Seeing lifesize of their weapons! Love Pluto’s but im a saturn girl❤ omg the gowns!
Here in the United States, Cartoon Network is going to be airing all of the original Sailor Moon episodes again. They're dubbed, I think, but still...I'm pretty excited for it! I have the Sailor Moon dvds and blu-rays, but watching them all over again on tv is pretty nostalgic for me.
this is sooooo COOL! as for my favorite sailor scout......thats hard to choose....I have always loved sailor moon. I also really love sailor mar, sailor mercury, sailor pluto, and sailor saturn. I know that's a lot of favorites but they were the characters i gravitated too watching this show as a kid. i remember going to block buster to find the sailor moon movies that were released at the time. i hope i can see this exhibition in person one day.
I love watching sailor moon, when I was a little younger it was one of my first anime I have watched, my favorite sailor scout is sailor Mars and sailor Saturn, there so awesome.
I didn’t watch as a kid but my sibling did - on YTV! My sibling had a comforter and sheet set. And somehow my mom managed to find one of the wands. I don’t know how she did it!
I hope this becomes permanent 😭 I would have loved to see this but it wasn’t open during my trip last October. Sailor moon is the anime that got me through a tough time in college. I played all the episodes in my dorm room while doing homework and chilling.
This is childhood heaven! The life-sized weapons, the costumes, not to mention the original artworks and the merchandise! The sparkle, the grace, the beauty, the nostalgia! It's Sailor Moon heaven! I would give anything to go to this museum and soak everything in Sailors Mars, Jupiter, and Pluto are my girls - always will be >w< I did not have a Sailor Moon wand, but it gave birth to my obsession with wand toys, I was always begging my parents for a wand toy. And I did have a Sailor Moon costume when I was 6-7 years old. I remember I wanted to wear it to visit my aunt, even asked my mom to tie pigtails into my hair. I used to be very upset as a child that my hair was not as long as Usagi's lol > I wish I could've seen the tour too, I dunno what year they toured but it would've been amazing to see. My closes exposure to live action Sailor Moon was the live action series that aired in 2006 I believe, and I thought that was the coolest thing ever.
From the US here and grew up with Sailor Moon. Our local Toys R Us near Sunset Station Casino in Las Vegas, NV had all the dolls and I do have a few of the wands from there. We didn't get them all in the US, just a handful, but I have two from then still that still run.
Growing up one of my friends and her sisters had SO many of the 90’s toys. So somehow they got them in Canada but they were super spoiled haha so maybe bought them in the states? I was so exited to play with them and they just didn’t get it 😅. Especially the wands. 💖 ✨
Yes! Stephanie "Sugar" Beard, who was a VJ on YTV and a radio DJ in Ontario, was the second English voice for Chibiusa/Rini in the DiC/Pioneer/Cloverway dub, since most of the voices were replaced at least once. Tracey Hoyt was the first Rini, and of course Sandy Fox is the current Chibiusa in Viz's truer-to-the-text dub.
Also grew up with Sailor Moon. I was around 5-6 years old when it first aired in Germany. My Favorite is Usagi. We have the same birthday :D Would love to go to the museum but it's impossible T_T Stupid flights cost 1.5k
I see two toys that I had as a kid! 😢 I have no recollection of whether or not I got them in the US or if my uncle got them for me while in Japan, though. I had one of the moon rods. It lit up and made sounds when you pressed buttons. I distinctly remember the day I got it lol. I also still have a Luna P makeup mirror case thing. It’s broken and mangled but I will carry it with me for my whole life lol
Thank you for going there and posting this video! I was so sad when I discovered if I had swapped my recent Japan trip dates the date to Tokyo going to Osaka instead I would definitely made it to the museum. Seeing you go through every part of the exhibition was like being there myself. 🥹🥹🥹
I have only discovered your channel a year ago and love all the content you put out there. Very informative, even the eating parts. We went to USJ this April as well and only realised we completely missed the demon slayer restaurant( we were celebrating our son's birthday at the Mario restaurant instead) and the food is amazing. Hope you go back and see one piece in June. Can't wait to see you post it.
Noooooooooooooo. Well, you'll still have a good time. If you want your Sailor Moon fix I recommend the official shop in Harajuku, it's small but mighty.
Thanks for the very exclusive tour!! Amazing!! I'm going next week. How long do you think we need to see everything at the exhibition? Also, can we access the shop without going to the exhibition?
Manga and Anime artwork is fantastic. The colours always look so vibrant. You are going to have to return when it opens. 1, because we need a food review on all that amazing stuff. 2. You can not, not, buy the clear files. They are way too pretty to miss.
Most of the time blind bags and boxes are bane to my existence. The only times I will buy them would be if I actually liked most of the items otherwise I will pass. if I only have one chance, I will not buy. Also my luck is bad. I’ll get the one I didn’t want.
Thanks for the video. I wish they had something for the Live Action Sailor Moon TV show from 2003. It wasn’t the best series of Sailor Moon but it was nice once off interpretation of PGSM
hi Chris my favorite sailor scout is sailor Neptune because I was born in march she is so talented and beautiful I also like that she is gay for an anime of the 90´s that was so progressive 🐙
Anyone know about how long it takes to go through the museum + shop? Trying to figure out what time to book my cafe reservation! Forgive me if I missed it in the video...not trying to have too many spoilers!
Hi! I actually have a question, so I'm planning to go to the Sailor Moon museum in Nagoya the 13th of July with my mom but we don't know how much time we can spend inside the museum and the shop so can you help us with that? Thank you and so gorgeous everything there!!

I'm a fan of Sailor Jupiter
I hope they will make the museum permanent so that Sailormoon fans from other countries can visit anytime of the year.
I also grew up watching Sailor Moon on YTV back in the 90’s and I remembered going to school with pigtails. I love when these exhibits travel around the country, as you said, it gives others a chance to see it. Not everything in Japan needs to be in Tokyo!
Sailor Neptune is and will always be my favourite.
Yessss!
Also a Canadian and very much enjoyed watching Sailor Moon on YTV. My first tattoo when I was sixteen was the Sailor Mercury symbol as she was my favourite as a kid.

This is like a dream come true! ❤
Oh, and Venus was always my favorite. 💕
Thank you for showing the merchandise store in detail
Sailor Moon is absolutely my favorite Sailor Scout ever!! I had the Moon Prism compact and moon wand from the 90s growing up.
I saw the poster of the Sailor Moon Museum during my vacation, but I don't wanna risk losing any money, so watching this was worth it. Thanks a bunch!
I was waiting for that video!! So awesome to wake up and watch your review Chris!! Thanks a million times!!🎉❤
My pleasure!!
Omg the YTV shoutout 🥹. So formative of my early years and still to this day. Thank you for doing this and mentioning that! Gorgeous tour 🥰

YTV raised so many of us 90s Canadian kids, haha.
@@tdrexplorer I wasn't kids then was in my 20s
I’m a sailor Jupiter fan myself and glad to see an another YTV connoisseur. Shout out to Sugar as Chibi Usa and where are my Nuclear Donkey fans at!

Very cool and I hope someday this museum will come to United States someday
Thank you for going to the museum again!
Thank you for watching!
I love the outer scouts. Sailor Neptune and Uranus are my top favs but Sailor Saturn and Pluto are up there as well. 😊
Sailor moon was the first anime I saw when I was young and that was the first spark of me learning more and more about japan and loving everything about it. Anything Japanese just makes me feel safe and at home and very proper.

The theme song teleports me back to the late 90s!
I won't be able to go to Japan in the next few weeks, so thank you for this tour!!! It helped me experience it vicariously.
Thank you for watching

Definitely watched Sailor Moon on YTV after school. ❤ I went as Sailor Jupiter for Halloween. I remember buying my hair baubles at Bi-way 😄
Haruka is my favorite too!!, thank you for taking us on this trip, this is my favorite thing
omg I love the background in the original arts exhibit, sooooo pretty :)
I absolutely loved the Museum!
Living vicariously through you at the moment 🎉
I love just how the food you get at a Japanese restaurant looks exactly like the picture or the display.
I love Sailor Moon, it's one of my all time favorite animes. I'd love to visit this place.
As someone who is bigender.... sailor uranus is me ❤
Eta- i had the sailor moon barbies in 2002 and i miss them
Definitely had the barbie doll of sailor moon and serena! Had like those blind box toy of serena as moon princess and possibly the wand the very first one she used to transform. Seeing lifesize of their weapons! Love Pluto’s but im a saturn girl❤ omg the gowns!
Sailor Saturn and Pluto are my favorite 😍
YES!!
I'm a new Sailor Moon fan 😀 This museum looks incredible!!

The nostalgia is real. You made me want to hop on a plane just to attend the exhibit (and eat everything on the menu!) 😭😭😭
I wish you could come and visit!
Every day at 11am on YTV in Toronto. You’re taking me back to a wonderful time Chris!! Xoxox
Thanks for sharing
So awesome!! So hard to choose my favorite Sailor Scout, but it was Jupiter & Pluto as a kid, and Sailor Moon & Chibi Moon as an adult :D

You do!

Every Canadian who grew up in the 90s knows YTV! I miss the old days, haha.
@@tdrexplorer Me too! I miss after-school shows with YTV and the Hit List on Saturdays! And I'm old enough to remember Camp Caribou 🤣
Sailor Neptune is my favorite! She is elegant and smart. I'm also a big fan of the water element 😊
I think neptune ocean element
I hope this becomes permanent 😭 I would have loved to see this but it wasn’t open during my trip last October. Sailor moon is the anime that got me through a tough time in college. I played all the episodes in my dorm room while doing homework and chilling.

Will visit the Exhibition in July at nagoya 😍. Anza (early Musicals) was the best usako ever 🥰.

I like Hiruka as well. Very cool 😎 character. My favorite art with her is the blue Ferrari one.
Bring back memories. I still have DVDs and some of the trading cards. I had a crush with Sailor Venus. Minako-chan! 😅
DVD?! I have the movies on VHS 🤣 oh no I'm old! 😮
I watched Sailor Moon in the 90's
I didn't see a section for the live action anime they did. I loved watching it...
Hello from LA - we love you, Chris! ✌️🎉
Thank you for watching!!
I hope they will open the Sailormoon museum again sometime next year because my travel plan to Tokyo is 2025. Crossed my finger.
Growing up one of my friends and her sisters had SO many of the 90’s toys. So somehow they got them in Canada but they were super spoiled haha so maybe bought them in the states? I was so exited to play with them and they just didn’t get it 😅. Especially the wands. 💖 ✨
i love sailor Moon .
SM museum! 😻 Dont know why but listening to you puts me at ease😅
Aww, thank you!

going insane with the merch
There was so much

Sailor moon🌹
In the Filipino dub Sailor Moon’s name is Bunny.
That's what her name in Japanese is too
I went to the Super Live in Paris!
Thank you for going there and posting this video! I was so sad when I discovered if I had swapped my recent Japan trip dates the date to Tokyo going to Osaka instead I would definitely made it to the museum.

I'm going to Tokyo, Osaka, AND Nagoya...but only when they're closed this summer 😢
Noooooooooooooo. Well, you'll still have a good time. If you want your Sailor Moon fix I recommend the official shop in Harajuku, it's small but mighty.
I tried to book the sailor moon cafe a week in advance, but all the time slots and neighboring days are full 😭😭😭 at least I can go to the museum 💖
Thanks for the very exclusive tour!! Amazing!! I'm going next week.
How long do you think we need to see everything at the exhibition? Also, can we access the shop without going to the exhibition?
I'm so bummed I missed this. They opened this the day I was leaving Osaka and it was sold out 😢
Oh nooo, I'm sorry!
How did I not know that Sugar voiced Rini/Chibiusa? 😮
My favourite Scouts/Senshi are Mars (Rei) and Neptune (Michelle/Michiru)
My favourite characters are Luna, Usagi/Serenity, and Sailor Mercury or Ami?

Neptune is my all time favorite 💙
Yessss!
The wands were buyable from blockbuster if I recall
May have been a US thing? I don't remember them in Blockbuster in Canada.
@@tdrexplorer I don't know I just remember them having the most Sailor Moon stuff then anyone else did at the time
I smiled so hard when you said Serena haha
My instincts kick in to call her Serena and I know she's Usagi, I get so conflicted haha.
I’m going to the one in Nagoya!
Have fun!
I missed that last March in Fukuoka 😢
Noooooooo, I'm sorry
Hope you visit the Junji Ito exhibition as well ❤️
You love Haruka as well? Yay

I have three sailor moon plush and a sailor moon poster.
It’s a miserable autumn Saturday in Melbourne. Guess what I’m going to watch……
I hope it brightened up your day!
Will you share the link to the Cafe once in Nagoya? Assuming this link you currently have is only for the Osaka location.
hi Chris my favorite sailor scout is sailor Neptune because I was born in march she is so talented and beautiful I also like that she is gay for an anime of the 90´s that was so progressive 🐙
