- Alright guys we won a 2013 RAM 1500 V8 off Copart, While it was getting shipped to our shop. We went ahead and order the necessary parts to complete this rebuild. Mike gets that done and goes on a test drive. Finally he talks about prices, the risks of buy cars or trucks off Copart at the end. I like the details, please everyone keep in mind the hours of travel of getting the vehicles, the fuel cost, the shop cost the dealers license expense, the insurance, Niko brothers make it look easy flipping vehicles, but it is like he said sometimes you end up with a money pit (DUD) where you lose money.. When I was a young man I was really into rebuilding and flipping cars & trucks! Like you say you do get those from time to time that are losers that's part of the game! You two are very good at what you do and I enjoy watching your builds!

What a nice rebuild, best of all no bodywork, painting needed as the flare covered up the small dent on the fender perfect! Best part of the Squatted truck is when it got sold....!

Great explanation about the ups and downs of dealing in cars. Not mentioned, but obviously still very much part of the cost, is the overhead of the shop itself - mortgage/rent, salaries, insurance, utilities, taxes, and licences (among a million other things). Also, I would imagine most (if not all) of the vehicles you've purchased from Copart requires a dealer's license, which carries its own cost and complexity. Curious if you guys have tried any of the other auctions like IAAI, or the various local and regional sales like through the state surplus, etc? Maybe buy a Humvee from GovPlanet?
I would have fixed or replaced the fender... when I see flares on a truck, I figure it's hiding rust as that seems to be the norm here in PA lol.
Nice to see a few quick flip builds. I did wounder why you didn't pull that wing out then you said 'I have some flares' so there you go no need to fix the dent. I like those lights as well, it freshens it up a bit and that is always a selling point. Thanks Michael for another good video.👍👍

Yes love to hear what you paid and what you made or lost,as you say its not easy and you put alot of time and effort in the business and most of it we don't see so I think because you do a 20 minute video on doing up the truck and making the profit it's looks easy but I know its not as easy as that so we'll done guys for everything you do and for making these videos,from a grateful subscriber in the UK 👍

The budget builds are great videos. Are you selling the Corvette and Porsche? I wouldn't sell the Duramax you have to much time and money investment plus it's looking fantastic. Like you said you guys have doing this fir a few years and you have a shop. If you added the alignments the paint work and other things you can't do in a driveway or house garage it adds up.

Super cob job. You can clearly see the wheels aren't straight at the beginning too and they casually mention doing an alignment which means some suspension part was bent too

See what market will pay 💰. Use the NADA book for your guide. People will pay for value, so talk value. I think you leave money on the table, good luck.

The #1 thing that sucks about flipping vehicles is some states limit the number you can sell. In Texas, they allow you only to sell no more than 5 per year otherwise you have to get your dealers license. $2,500+ profit from Copart vehicles is pretty good considering all the damn fees they charge. 😠
I can not get over it how much cheaper the trucks are in the US compared to here in Canada.
