How does anyone write something as astonishing as this at the age of 23?!?! Phenomenal! His ability as a performer remains undimmed too. For me, he blew away everyone else in the concert for the Queen's Jubilee celebrations in 2012. I don't think it's hyperbole to say that Stevie is one of the greatest musicians of the twentieth century.
Stevie is the most gifted individual in the past two centuries. He's the Martin Luther King of music, he's the Julius Erving of music, he's the King David of Song, he is the masterpiece of Picasso musically, and the artistic genious of Devinchi, the Einstein of sound, the Pavarotti of Opera, and brother of the Jesus Christ. As a young man, Stevie helped me to see, and to helped me know the love of Christ- through his mission, life and music. Thank you Stevie. thank you very much.
Well he's not God but he's good in only the arena of music but he needs to do more politically and socially to help his fellow man not himself and that comes with his advanced age and better self awareness..he should run for office he should fight for the poor
They call it Stevie’s Classical Period from 1970 - 1980 ….he won Album of the year two years in a row (Grammy’s) and the only reason he didn’t win the 3rd year was because it took him 2 years to make his next album & that was Songs in the Key of Life ….Genius !!!!!
Back in the day the last hit of his I remember was If You Really Love me then I got a compilation album and Keep On Running From My Love was on it and it grabbed me next thing I know Talking Book was released and I was hooked. He was so different, new and exciting, no one else could come close to Stevie but Marvin Gaye and Donny Hathaway came very close. Since then I have bought everything he was associated with. Amazing.
Words cannot begin to describe what i feel when i watching this, STEVIE WONDER was in his prime when this footage was shoot. ALL that he touched by that time turned into gold! I dare you to find anyone this talented, i even double dare all you rockers out there to come up with a name that can rival this TRUE musical genius.
Mats, metal is my favorite genre - always has been and probably always will be. But I couldn't agree with you more. Nobody can touch Stevie. The only artists who come even remotely close for me are Tori Amos and Gino Vannelli.
In the early 90’s I heard a recording on BBC Radio 1 that was made in 1968. Hendrix was recording a session, an 18 year old Stevie happened to be around and asked if he could join in on drums, Jimi gladly obliged. Would love to hear that again.
All 5 of those albums, because you have to include his first solo album in the mix, are really great. His classic album list. And you could take the non hits off those albums and make one great album that any musical artist would be proud to have. That is exactly how talented he is as an artist.
@@starlady_media I attend school with those two @ Detroit Northwestern H.S.. Ray lived a few blocks over from me, and I remember when he was introduced to music @ Angell Elementary.
You just don't know how important this video is. I am so glad you posted it. This is a master class i will use to teach how it is done. From the vocal shaking to the hee hee hee which everyone on the planet would swear Michael Jackson invented, not. You are watching the inventor of all things male vocals, singing and delivery. As well as playing while singing, producing his ass off coming up with stuff on the fly. Everyone who sang or played with him or copied his style became successful. The drummer Ollie Brown. Denice Wiliams, singer. Ray Parker Jr on guitar. As Stevie mentioned writing; he encourraged everyone to write because he knew that was how you got paid. Look at Michael Jackson who also learned from Stevie. Look at Prince who has done his share of Stevie mancing, the song Vickie Waiting from the Batman soundtrack. From the singing to the production, that was Stevie love all day.

Stevie Wonder is truly a gifted Genius. His music not only promoted critical thinking but also it inspires us that we can overcome obstacles and live our dreams. ✨️ Stevie Wonder has given us the inner vision of what America can truly be. 🇺🇸 Through his music he given us to believe in our faith that we can move forward in making a better world for us all. We love you Mr. Stevie Wonder, thank you for the gift of music you shared and given us. 🎶 🎵
There was a short lived NBC show (13 episodes) called "Flipside" which brought cameras in the studio for interviews and performance footage. It didn't last long because studio execs wanted Sinatra and Streisand in the studio. The creator of the show was Bill Aucoin, who would go on to manage KISS around this time. "On The Flipside" was just Stevie doing it on the fly for the show.
It is fascinating how in an age when so many artists have cleared out, or at least cleared out some of their desks of unreleased material, Stevie Wonder has yet, unless someone knows otherwise, to do this especially from the period in the Seventies when we were told that 'there was a lot more good stuff in the can'. Where's that can and why has it not been opened all this time?
