Live is ok. But the over-produced album version of Scarecrow People with its superb percussion that drives the beat is just sublime. One of my favorite bands, XTC. Along with Garbage, Alice in Chians and Depeche Mode.

I was with my girlfriend in Iowa , she was going to move to NJ, and we happened to be watching David Letterman, and he said he had XTC appearing, I was like whaaaaat?, we watched and when this song came on I told her it was fav off this album, she really liked it as I was singing it, and she wanted to know more about the band. 😅

Acceptable version but way faster than the record (130 bpm vs. 121)which I find degrades the song a bit. Colin plays an arpeggio bass figure while the bass player plays the bottom on a fretless bass in a sloppy and mute manner, and is high in the mix, and it doesn-t suit the song to well. The song being a shuffle rhythm provides a different bass playing style, like the record, and Colin does it great on the record, not muting too much. Dave and Andy are great. The mix is below mediocre. XTC are one of the greatest bands ever, and I'm glad they did Letterman, even without an audience in front of them.

Great job on remastering the audio. It all sounds superb! Thank you! And I've only heard of the Gizmotron. Amazing to see it being used on that strat! How cool that Godley/Creme invented it and Jimmy Page used it.

Music for people who can think.

These guys were just so good!!! And their songs are relevant right here and now...and hold up like a classic always does. I'm a musician who got my start back when the 1st British invasion arrived here and grew up on the Beatles, Kinks, Hollies, etc and consider these guys every bit their equal- musically they are like a hybrid of Beatles- Kinks - encompassing the musicality of the Beatles and the snide-ness of the Kinks and come up withe something so uniquely them. In my opinion they are one of the great bands . Is it true that they are not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? If so that's a travesty.

Every note from their guitars is incredible. Top quality music is the result of such talent
