The Most Fascinating Place On Earth? Exploring Cappadocia
i like how gabriel communicate with locals so nicely and being so polite. safe travel !
Cappadokia, the land of Greek santa claus (saint Basil - Greek orthodox Bisop). The santa claus as we know him in our days and adopted by many other European countries was also a Greek and was living in ancient Greek city Arsinoe - Patara in our days .(saint Nicholas)
exactly, these are all conquered Greek places by Turks
Wow, just simply, WOW. Thought I could watch while I hung up my laundry... Nope! Had to sit down for this one.
Cool. :)
great video amazing the last supper was being painted 1000 years before Da Vinci in christian caves
What a beautiful cave it looks so homey. Once again thank you. ❤
Stayed there too. The hot air balloons at 6am were like Christmas morning excitment levels for adults.
me and husband just back from turkey last month.. the best holiday destination ever.. from malaysia :)
The place is Awesome, the people are friendly and the food is great
i love Cappadokia😄 i like cave and balloon and kebab. thanks for sharing💕
This has to be one of the most beautiful place that I have ever seen. I will definitely be visiting there very soon haha
Awesome trippin through Flintstone ville
Just amazing Gabriel! I love all of this city! The fairy chimneys are beyond belief. I love you taking the time to explain everything in detail. Excellent job!!
Take care 😁
Very interesting place, thanks for taking us along..
Amooooo a Turquia
Nice video! Looks like I'll need a month to travel around Turkey and enjoy all these beautiful sights😁
Great Video. Thank you for posting.
Amazing Gabriel! Thank you! Caves are beautiful, nice to see how they would be furnished. What a sight can't wait to see more! Stay safe 😊❤🙏
Wow.. It's great video 😄😄 Amazing Cappadocia.. It should be exciting for you after 10 years..
The horses are grazing on stubs. lol Poor things.
Thanks for the trip Gabriel...........
Only you are capable of making me watch a vlog of TURKEY. 😒 Interesting video Gab.
Absolutely 👍 fantastic.
Gabriel, excellent exploration in a very interesting Region.
At 21:50 Don't presume that specific concrete = modern structure. That concrete has been manufactured and used for over 2,000 years.
Marvelous cave-houses...what a mysterious place, nice job Gabriel! Very nice past reffering video slots...
I love capadokiya.
Cappadocia and Petra are on my bucket list, hopefully early spring. How heavily touristed is the town? It seems that the museum area receives the bulk of the tourists. Thanks for this series of videos!
Goreme is pretty busy but not crazy and as soon as you leave the town things mellow out a lot. Petra is one of my other favorite places.
Interesting to just explore. I was thinking the same thing when I first saw those small holes near the ceilings. Probably used to hang herbs 🌿 etc to dry. Interesting how the dish was cooked.
Thanks for sharing.😍😍😍😍
agree man! thats the best place i have ever been.
I stayed 2 months in 2016 at Emily's cave house and rode those balloons a few times absolutely was a thrill of a lifetime! I stayed at the cave house as a base home n rented a car that way I could travel around the whole region for a couple of months was so well worth it. Btw that wasn't a crepe it's called Gözleme it's a Turkish pastry flat bread 😉 they are my favorite with a big bowl of lentil soup.😋 So happy you got the chance to visit this beautiful and enchanting area of fairy chimneys in 🇹🇷. I like you, took out my camera and video taped because there was nobody around so happy I did because to see it in real life was just a beautiful experience. One of my favorite places on earth!! Stay safe n enjoy Gabe!✌
Ah that was gozleme, good to know. I see the signs for it everywhere, need to try it again.
Stayed at that same hotel in 2018.. love the place.
Can’t wait to go back there again after watching your video 💜👍🏻
Very good video. I really enjoyed it. Thank you.
Wow amazing footage of the painted walls by the Greek monks... They were a long way from home... Interesting place... Safe Travels Gabriel .. 👍👍
Not greek
AskerVR Byzantine Monks were Ancient Greek monks...
This is their home
Wow amazing 😊
Thank you Gabriel this is very helpful to the little book I am writing, part of my “Stean Anthony” work, ongoing now for some 15-20 years. God bless you and prosper you family and friends amen.
Hi Gabriel, This is of those days you just pinch yourself a really great day where everything goes as plan. Those murals must be amazing the colors that are used worked under day and candle lighting such artisan craftmanship.
Definitely on my bucket list. Greetings from Montreal.
Thumbnail for the video in my e-mail looked like a deleted video But I clicked on it and the video was there...thankfully! ☺
Amazing.
Gabriel’s content is always outstanding
Thank you!
very beautiful
Wonderful, Gabriel. I don't know who else shows this!
Wonderful presentation !
Lucky dude!
Awesome intro, Gabe. Love it.
Thanks.
Nice one Gabby
The Mountain formations look great, a bit like in Moab utah
11:50 The young Gabriel was clearly a sneaky boy ! ;-))
Love how you say you're from the United States rather than 'America'. Such amazing films you are making, I knew Turkey was interesting and you've solidified that for me. Great camerawork and narrating.
man i really want to travel around my country
Random question but is Turkish food spicy at all? It looks so beautiful there by the way! I can see why its one of your favorite places. Have you been to Teotihuacán? Sort of reminds me of it but Turkey looks amazing!
Turkish food can be spicy, it depends on the dish :) In general they use a lot of spices in their food, but it varies a lot from region to region.
Very nice
Wow
Great video
Now I can see why you are traveling the world!
Must be the housing prices in San Francisco! 😂
I love Turkey
Such an amazing place, thank you so much for showing us around the non touristy places, we get to experience a real feel for what it’s like there. Have you ever been or heard of the Trulli houses in Alberobello, Puglia Italy? Not on the same scale as here but I’m sure you would be fascinated walking around there also if you are ever around the area 😁
good job buddy..
Thanks.
There must be a lot of stone cuttings tools they used to excavate the rock. I wonder if you can see any of those type of artifacts in the museums.
Did you catch the guy at the juice place saying "Yaba Daba Doo!!!??😅
I didn't at the time, but realized it while editing. Pretty funny.
Yesss!😆😅😂😆
I well visit there soon it was in my plan long time ago loks like petra
Bedrock 😅
😁😁 well u visit there
So, so cool. You could have gone north of 30 minutes and panned more slowly and you'd still have had us all still watching to the end. I like that you did a 'Gabriel Invades' (the apartment in a cave) like Harald Baldr - it was interesting to see so glad u did it, 'up close & personal'. I also can totally relate that you totally got into the aspect of the fairy chimneys and caves going on and on and on and on ... When I've been in environments where things are like that (Mesa Verde's cliff dwellings, Yellowstone's hot springs/geysers, Iceland's waterfalls (and hot springs/geysers), Salzburg's & Vienna's & San Francisco's endlessly amazing architecture) it's just so intoxicating you never want to leave because it makes you feel so high on life. Definitely picked up that vibe from your video - like being a kid in a candy store. Congratulations - excellent destination & excellent video.
Right on, thanks Bill. I'll try to keep in mind the slower panning.
Are those Maltese cross murals on that church wall at 10:31 ?
What an HD remake.
HEY GABRIEL, THAT WAS WONDERFUL. TO BE ABLE TO GO THROUGH A HOME THAT IS 2000 YEARS OLD. WHAT A BEAUTIFUL CITY THAT MUST HAVE BEEN AT THE TIME OF CHRIST. YOU KNOW I WAS JUST THINKING THE OTHER DAY HOW WONDERFUL IT IS FOR PEOPLE LIKE YOU TO BE ABLE TO WALK DOWN A ROAD THAT IS OVER 2000 YEARS OLD. TO ACTUALLY BE ABLE TO TOUCH HISTORY. THE PEOPLE THAT LIVE THERE, IT'S JUST THEIR HOUSE AND THE ROAD IS JUST THE ROAD TO THE MARKET. THE SIMPLE FACT THAT IT IS JUST WHERE THEY HAPPEN TO CALL HOME. LOL
ISN'T LIFE WONDERFUL. HAPPY TRAILS MY FRIEND.

Nice filming and documenting. I am traveling through turkey Right now about to hike the entire 500km of Lycian way. These videos of Turkey that youve made are very helpful. Im in Bodrum now on my way to Fethiye. Hopefully one day we cross paths
Amazing, I've wanted to do the Lycian way trek. I went to the start of the trek at Kabak in December 2009. Also I was in the area a few years ago: th-cam.com/video/Nu_VimhL3gQ/w-d-xo.html Have an amazing hike.
@@GabrielTravelerVideosAwesome, ill definately watch that video you recomened. Youve also inspired me to make a few videos along the way, ill definatley do some recording along the way as well, Thank you for the work you do, its great to watch.
It seems that all the travel vloggers are at this place now...🤣
Gabe beat them to it by ten years though!!
Question: Would you be able to camp out in one of those caves or is it illegal?
Not sure if it's legal but I'm sure you could get away with it. No one is patrolling those areas and I doubt anyone would care anyway. People lived in them for thousands of years already so no harm done.
@siniša tkalčić Yes, and I agree: th-cam.com/users/gabejedmosearch?query=Petra
I love ur work, keep it up👍🏻,do visit Pakistan too.
I was wondering what this was too: 11:28. Anyone know what this is? Is it a dining table?
Amazing video from Cappadocia ! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🍺
Hello very nice video. How to travel to cappadocia from Istanbul ?
Fly, bus or drive.
Where did you buy that elephant shirt? Just curious because I have one just like that. Haha
I got it in Hoi An, Vietnam.
Hey greetings from India
Hey greetings from Oregon.
As a turkish citizen I apologize for the "tourist prices". I don't know how the situation is in similar tourist receiving countries.
♥️Excellent ❤️Grazie mille... ♥️Gabriel 💚
Were they poured constructions or carved from existing rock
Carved from existing rock.
They would put the gods that protected their home on those shelf’s.
So Gabe is from Frisco. He is a homeboy, lol. I grew up in Parkmerced. I read in the comments in another video that Gabe was Canadian. But he could be from anywhere around the San Francisco bay area. Marin, the Peninsula, East Bay. Traveling internationally a person would say they were from San Francisco. You wouldn't say I am from San Carlos, or Richmond, or Sausalito. No one would know where you were talking about!
My parents were from LA originally, moved to Canada, I was born there, we moved back to LA when I was 1, moved up north to Willits in Mendocino County, I was raised there, then moved down to the Bay Area when I was a teenager and I graduated from Berkeley High School. That's the very short version of my life from 0 to 18.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos My dad was from San Fransisco, my mom from Oakland. Grew up in Parkmerced until I was 10, then in 1958 we moved to Hillsborough. Was not a big place though, a ranch rambler up near Skyline blvd. and the Crystal Springs game refuge. Graduated Burlingame high 1966. Living in Seattle now, since 1990. Like it up here.
Fascinating! I noticed in your 2009 trip there were so many hot air balloons. Do they not allow that now?
The balloons are still happening, the sunrise scene with the balloons at 1:36 was filmed when I was there recently.
Hobbit building 😅😅 thanks to share 😉😎😍
👍
Seems like you can easily get lost there...Like death Valley kind of style 🤔
Definitely possible to get lost. But a lot more roads and buildings, so you wouldn't have to go too far before you came across civilization.
They say if you do something for 10,000 hours, you become a master.
Gabriel, to YOU it is the most fascinating place on Earth, so ... isn't this all that matters? :D
He’s not saying that as a matter of fact dummy. But I guess you wouldn’t get it
How coincidental!! I just booked my flight from Istanbul to there a couple minutes ago, flight leaves in less than 12 hours!!
so where on earth did u like best??
24:50 I guess this area is now owned by private individuals? How lucky they are to have so much history under their control. Glad they are protecting and maintaining it, otherwise it would have been a shame.
yes, greek history.
All but certain that the mural of the Last Supper was defaced for anti-Christian motives. The hostilities between Turks and Greeks have at times been amazingly bitter.
Quite frequently the murals were defaced by people of Christian faith. The paint used to depict Christ or a Saint was considered a desirable ingredient in many 'cures' for illness.
Greek places , very very old!
Why are almost all the faces destroyed on the murals? Such a shame they are beautiful!
Gabriel invaded a Cappadocia home. lol
I really want to visit Cappadocia but I can’t convince my wife that a room in a cave would be an interesting experience.
Next time Egypt
Hey Gabe most of the people's around the world knows USA as America so you should say when someone ask I'm from america rather than United states
Dang, I searched your channel for "puerto rico" but nothin came up :(
Yeah I haven't been there yet.
Check out Jumping Places - he did a whole series from there and found all the cool spots.
