@@supersolex How do you mean "no"? In many amp desigs you get somewhat higher "B+" voltage when plugged to the charger/PSU. If the batteries are full, large enough and voltage doesn't sag with high output transients then the difference could be quite small though (only below +5% power). But in some designs where wall PSU can bypass the internal BMS you could get noticeably boost. Like rail voltage of 12,5V with full batteries and 15V with wall PSU. That's 44% more power. But I don't know how common this type of a circuit is though.

@@buka9330 It could be nice to have more presets, yes. Typically you would like to get some bass boost when listening at lower volumes (to get balanced sound). But some modern DSP curves already include "dynamic" feature to cover this without the need for different preset. I would have to listen this "LFM mode" in person to know if I would prefer the option to not have a high-pass filter of some sort. With sealed cabinets this is not a problem but with reflex loaded cabinets the cabinet volume, passive radiator and drives together determin the bass properties near and below the tuning frequency. So just having the drivers move at the lower than tuning frequency doesn't mean there is any practical output (acoustic short circuit + phase difference cancellation). To get a real "LFM" option/preset in addition to the no HP (or lower HP) you would need to attach additional weights to the passive radiators. This would work up to a point but would limit the max. output volume and possibly result somewhat worse transient performance in upper bass frequencies. I have used this in my speaker designs and you can do the same by making reflex port longer. But it's all about balance - more is not always better.

I like the Xtreme 2, Xtreme size is the bare minimum to have a good sounding JBL speaker. I will wait for Xtreme 3 (with aptx please) to come out as Xtreme 2 is quite old. For a smaller speaker, I already have a SoundCore Motion+ that sounds phenomenal for it's size.

Xtreme 2 is great because it have tweeters, it's stereo and have a good bass extension for it's size, and, Boombox 2, while I never listened to it, it's the same story but bigger, it should be great as well.

I have been using "LFM" since I got the speaker, it was the main selling point for me. I've ran many songs through it from xclsvs channel and haven't had any difference. I have two of the same speakers (Xtreme) and both sound identical. The only difference so far is on "LFM" the battery dies faster obviously because it's running more power, without it on it still lasts well over 10 hours of constant use. It hasn't blew any drivers, the radiators are still fine and tweeters working perfectly. I get that it can break them but geez calm down a little I've had mine for well over 5 years now...

When I got my JBL Xtreme 2 back in August I’ve never liked the LFM mode. You lose the low end of bass and it turns to more boosted mids and highs and it’s just not pleasing to the ears in my opinion. I have since got a Partybox 300 now though so I have no problem with trying to push more bass out of a little system.

What would be actually amazing is if you could connect their speakers to your laptop and have full control over the crossover's. Instead of just letting you turn it off but jbl well knows that people use it and love it or they would have removed the feature years ago.
I'm not a fan of this design including the radiator..think about it...if a speaker is out of phase with another, in this speaker the pair of the front speakers with the radiator, .the sound is not pressurized. Yes you can see the movement of the other speakers but still in a pressurized chamber technically the speaker are out of phase. personally think these jbl speakers are overpriced.
so why have they held steady at 200 for the last 2 years, I personally paid full price for it as a preorder and it still sound just as good today as when I took it out of the box, I would like to think that paying so much is justified if you use it to ifs fullest potential and not abuse it like some other people on the internet, I appreciate your opinion and here is mine, have a great day, good sir.

It doesn't if you keep the power level down so that driver Xmech keeps in check and midwoofer voice coils don't overheat. That said I don't see any reason to turn on the "LFM"... That takes away all optimization resulting worse SQ and lower clean output level.

LFM is a debug mode used by JBL, if used at 100% vol it will damage the speaker.

After update firmware 2.6, the LFM can not open, so don't update this firmware!
