That White Scars army is just insane. So unique, absolutely impeccable freehand - I don't think I've seen simple squad sergeants look so consistently good!
It is probably the best looking army I’ve ever seen. Maybe I’m biased but I can’t remember a better one. And while Waterbeast’s is equally impeccable it’s a little too grimy for my taste.
What's with Canadians and painting absolutely gorgeous Scars armies? Both Tim and Brandon Baker from BBMinis have some of the best painted Scars armies I've ever seen. Absolutely stunning.
13:07 What a shocker that the Iron Warrior player doesn’t want Nightfight….lol … not really sure how he can just veto it either… Nightfight happens on a 2+ if only one player wants it… WS player was being very gracious.
The amount of insane White Scars that are popping out recently is just insane and amazing to see! Lovely army, good to see WS not using the busted Rite of Sagian Masar with mass infantry spam! Freehands and pinkish reds, crispy whites are next level, truly a canadian!
@SNBattleReports speaking of busted lists have you seen mass despoiler infantry spamming on WS? Infantry or HQ kills do not give enemy anything, they charge you turn 2, unless you yourself are melee (even then you are dead unless you are Custodes), you are dead. Natural counter to the other busted Alpha legion list, that tables you turn 2.
@@SNBattleReports Just a thought. I feel like there is a lot of untapped potential for you to use the connections of no retreat to create guest content about the participants gorgeous armies, hobby journey, and opinions of their factions / strategy. I think it would be a relatively “easier” type of content that would still be very popular and is largely evergreen for getting future views. There’s very little video content of people showing off and talking about the decisions they’ve made with their army. I loved the post no retreat video done at Heresy Hammer as well as a list review that you all did too. The Akira-esk seer on bike, The mask on the dread, just insane amount of love.
Tim is such a great guy. Been lucky enough to play him twice now and each time was a pleasure from start to finish. Such a genuninely lovely guy and ridiculously talented! (DC isn't too bad either 😀)
@@SNBattleReports i posted on your last video that I’d be working on White Scars to one day go to No Retreat … given the competition I don’t think that’s happening no more lol 😭
Disintegrators don't have Instant Death on the Gets Hot - per the Gets Hot rules, you just take a wound at the weapon's AP, not with the weapon's special rules. This is why you always give disintegrator dudes Cyber-Hawks when you play White Scars - that reroll 1s to hit is just extra protection!
Tim got a few rules wrong, you can only ram a unit once, it specifically states that the vehicle stops after ramming in the rules, also the white scars inductii need to survive to the end of the game to get the victory point for proving their valour. He was also giving too many attacks to his sergeants with the power fist and thunder hammer, they're specialist weapons, so they shouldn't get any bonus for additional close combat weapons.
There's a section on ramming units that are falling back which states that a vehicle can come into contact with a unit falling back: "This also applies if a unit Falls Back from a Ramming Attack and the Vehicle’s remaining move brings it into contact with them a second time." My interpretation is that the ram can continue to come into contact with that specific unit, but will stop before any OTHER unit. You are correct on scoring with the Inductii, but its okay because we didn't include that point in the final score anyways :) The inductii also have Spite The Legion rule which awards a bonus attack against a unit that is either pinned/falling back or has no Character models (e.g. a Dreadnought): 2 Attacks base + 1 from the charge + 1 from spite. I have a Thunder Hammer + LC on that sergeant so that's where the bonus attack comes from, you can read that in my list.
"we are playing the special rules that come from no retreat 5 which is the No Retreat Horus heresy Edition um and our own rules that we've baked in is called tempestous Skies you can find all the details for those rules at uh the bottom" - I cant seem to find a link to these rules in the description. @@timbit. Tim, your painting is incredible. Thanks for showcasing a game that demonstrates the (lack thereof?) power of the bikes and the sheer level of play required to make them work. I am not sure which recently hired intern is writing the rules for Horus Heresy over at GW, but either T5 or Battle Hardened (1) is needed to make them viable, IMO. You played great. In my community, everyone knows the AR of White Scars so well now that it's hard to use on several units effectively any longer. 😅
@@pascal9055 Thank you! I think the outriders are tough enough, but the jetbikes could use a little love, I agree. In my experience with the Scars, the control bubble of 12" on the AR is the most powerful aspect. Opponents not willing to trigger the reaction often means they aren't moving in range of objectives or setting up charges. Its a win-win in my eyes.
That advanced reaction where they all moved, the the jet bikes move back over their own unit? They have anti grav right? My understanding is a unit with anti grav can't move over units
Great report and gorgeous armies! Can't do that with the rhinos though, the rules say after the morale check, the tank "does not move any further this turn" regardless of the result of the check.
