As a White Scars player, this battle report really illustrates how much better Golden Keshig are if you run a chaplain with them!
And Rob was a real class-act - a great guest, a beautiful army, and a great report!

That AL list was brutal and look frustrating to play against. Right from the start it was clear the IF list was not as strong

This is a classic match up for me, Alpha Legion v Imperial Fists was always the case for me and my best friend all the way back since first edition of HH. Great video, great batrep, great armies.

I usually don't enjoy one sided games but this one is an exception. The reasons are, we saw some rare units, I don't think the list was OP, just really good against tanks and Dreadnaughts and the Imperial Fists lost (don't get me wrong, I myself have 6k+ points of yellow marines, but I do feel their rules are too powerful, therefore I don't mind them losing). I also think that if Black Templar would get into combat this would be a different story, also the dice did help with those haywire templates a lot..., and I find Sigismund utterly disgusting (rules wise). Very enjoyable battle report, thanks a lot!

Yea, dreads are such a huge influence on gams, anything that can neuter them like those speeders will be a game winner.
For the haywire effect it’s not a hit or wound roll so it shouldn’t be allowed to be rolled with PE

@medheadful excellent! I will say combi grenade launchers are the way to go. As much as I want to like their basic guns they just aren't great esp with their short range.
@@newtpondskipper Nah lol, combimelta to infiltrate and destroy vehicles, or combi-volkite for regular infantry targeting. Base banestrike if you're playing Effrits.

Few rules wrong, unless they were house rules, but a lot more right than some other reports! Technically you should roll attacks one at a time, so shooting at a unit and taking the wound on the sergeant goes:
bolter hits, bolter wounds, arty armour save on serge, failed save is a fnp roll, fnp passes, model lives
Next bolter hits, wounds, you can save on teh serge again. You were weakening yourself a bit as the serge could have lived to tank more.

Hello from Poland Great report however I have noticed that speeders have Melta but not fired at all why?

Yeah i think they had meltas on them instead of grav but used as grav instead this is why you didn’t see the meltas being shot. I forgot to tell Rob we always play strict WYSIWIG so my fault and didn’t notice until after the game sorry . Glad you have subbed we have some good friends from Poland.

Wouldnt first volkite HSS shooting couse deflagerate on those tacticals, potencially wounding more then they see? (Since its bits of visible ones exploding wounding their friends...)
Sadly because of the normal rulebook rules this is the case. Still has to be something in line of sight.
Are you sure Preferred Enemy works with Grav given it is not a roll to wound…
Tbh no one has brought it up as you're rolling to wound a dread in most examples in this bat rep. Where I did make a mistake was resolving on the armour pen on the tank. In all honesty I don't think it made a huge difference to the game though. I just got trigger happy with it. I think it's just agreeing it before you play your opponent. I don't mind though as grav is strong as is.
Point is you’re not rolling to wound, you’re rolling on a table.
@chrisgent1979 thanks for the clarification. Your right it says quite clearly its instead of rolling to wound. So I apologise. Perhaps I misunstood because the table the refers to 'wounds'.

I don’t usual want the imperial fists to win but I feel like you bought a fluffy list against a super sweaty alpha legion list. This was really difficult to watch and not really fun. But always good to watch heresy content and learn some more rules.

The lists were unbalanced. I think this is in part to the fact me and pardo play very different metas. 'Fluffy' is a clumsy term when list building imho but there are a range of lists I've gone against that could dismantle my list. Night Lords and Raven Guard are two lists that I really struggle with in my local meta as they play mostly infantry. This list also crumbles in CC. Thabks for watching. You should check out Heresy Hammer at some point and then you can see what type of ethos we have when gaming.

I love my 6 Golden Keshigs. They are amazing for shrecking dreadnoughts, low unit count elites, and tanks. Would love them to be 10 more pts per unit and get Refractor Fields though.

I think there are hard counters to my list but I think it's can take apart conventional heresy meta lists quite easily (i.e.dreads, tanks a few infantry units). I've struggled against night lords and Raven Guard lists that are infantry heavy.
It’s was great to play against it. Very good vs my list.
