You just sold one to me, I was looking for a motherboard but not too expensive. Your review covered everything that I needed to know.
Be aware that the front panel Type-C header on this board is NOT 10Gbps Gen2 as stated in this video (a mistake I see often in tech videos) it is a Gen1 5Gbps header. USB naming and speeds are often confusing and frustrating for people and it's frustrating to see tech channels that get these wrong.
Motherboard also support pcie gen 3 cpus
I'm surprised he didn't praise it as "the fastest USB C ever" with how much manure he constantly shovels.
I was struggling to find motherboard reviews and this was PERFECT -- answered every question I had in a very organised way. I especially liked the bird's eye viewing highlighting components as you talked about them, thanks so much man! :D
Prime day I picked up a new AMD Ryzen 5900 and other parts but decided not a MB because I had to do some research. I thought I wanted 3 M.2 slots plus built in 6E Wi-Fi but that leaves you to $300 plus MB's. If you look on amazon lots of cards that can solve those functions for lot less I probably won't even use it since I have a wired network connection.

I just ordered this board with a Ryzen 5600g, did you have to flash the bios or, was it compatible out of the box?
It's a great choice to pair with a 5600G. Two display outputs if you want two screens.. Plus it is just super stable top quality board. Much potential to expand it later.
I don't even have the money to afford any kind of pc build, but I still click on your videos as fast as I can anyway

Heads up for anyone wanting to get this or the older V1 revision! A lot of people have made comments about the back IO ports not delivering stable power/connection when you turn on XMP on your ram. As far as I've read somewhere (reddit, other tech websites) the issue still persists with V2 revision so be careful
that's troubling to hear since I have this board sitting on my building table right now.
@@darkphoenix00001 do you have XMP enabled? If you do and are not experiencing issues, your memory controller is working fine with the RAM you got. Some people managed to find a solution by manually doing the RAM overclocking instead of XMP doing it's thing.
@@shiatbricks I haven't bought the RAM yet but I'm planning on buying a 3600mhz set so the XMP is pretty important to me. Thanks for the info, I hope it works okay out of the box!
@@darkphoenix00001 I'd suggest you google compatible rams that the motherboard support (i know it's silly, but do it). I remember stumbling upon a website couple months back that had pretty good info
@@shiatbricks oh thanks for the tip, I did that just now. I found a site called pangoly, seemed to have a pretty comprehensive list of QVL RAM modules.
I was hard set on G.Skill at first, but upon researching it a little and going through the list, it seems like they are definitely not the brand to go for with this board (at least for the 3600mhz 2x16GB set). Crucial and HyperX seem like very safe choices in comparison. Man you might have just saved me from a world of headaches, thanks again 😁

Love Gigabytes x370 k7 and x470 gaming 7 motherboards cause of the full-on led lighting built right into the motherboards, was hoping Gigabyte would bring out the same led lighting configuration on a x570 variant motherboard, i.e the x570 Gaming 7, one can only wish 🤑
The big difference between this motherboard and the PRO version is that this has 4 memory lanes while the PRO has 6. With 4 is very difficult to oc 4 memory modules to anything more than a couple hundreds of megaherzs. With 6 lanes you can do a lot

@@CmdrTigerKing with 4 lanes of RAM (memory) you can overclock (getting more power out of your component, like using 150% of what its max. is supposed to be) less than with 6 lanes (which the PRO version of this motherboard has), but that really is a luxery problem. Also not everyone wants to overclock since it decreases the lifespan of your components (memory in this case). But theres also an advantage: since you'll get more power out of your memory it wil run faster. I hope you understood and that this was still necessary for you 😄

Mon Deu! You have to enjoy the full fat Gaelic charm and zeal of this guy, bless him. I intend using the board for a Workstation recording music and video for creative streams; I think if it can handle all those high tech games it can handle over 16 channels of audio and 4K video.

You can set the color in the mobo with their software but its subtle and doesnt make that much of a difference

@@kerlowkey yeah! It was some awsome deals! Now i have a nice setup! I was though that i would need to change my Gpu , but since its for playing mostly Valorant i have more than 300 fps on max with my R9 Fury Oc so im pleased to continue to stay with it!

Just bought it in 2024. I already had a AM4 system and I happend to get gifted 5800x3D so I just thought that it would be a nice cheap upgrade for a B450. Not fully ready to commit to B650 with DDR5 yet so this was the best option. I have not tested it yet though but if anyone is interested comment below and I’ll post my thoughts on it in 2024

I love this MOBO, the only thing that has me puzzled is the fact that the MOBO configures a memory setting which is not visible to the user when changing CPU settings.

The second and third x16 slots are not capable of PCIe x4 but x2 and x1 respectively!

Should i buy this or the Asus Rog Strix B450-F Gaming II? I’m getting a pc in about 1-2 weeks and right now i think im going to get the gigabyte b550 but is the other one better?
Having issues with this board and the USB ports using a 5600x. I get intermittent USB signal stuttering depending on the accessories. Typically, wired stuff works fine. Wireless stuff gets constant random stutters. For example Logitech G305 wireless mouse randomly disconnects and reconnects within 1/2 second. But it does not do this on my other AMD PC.
I have latest, bios. latest chipset drivers, all windows updates, turned off power saving features and disabled low power C states, and fresh battery on the mouse, tried different USB ports. USB 3 seems to be the most temperamental.
Not sure if anybody has issue with this? This board also behaves really weird with XMP ram at 3600 mhz with Gigabyte Vision RTX 3070, it will crash unless RAM is at 3566Mhz, weirdly enough, lowering XMP to 3400Mhz also crashes. But when I use my old GTX 1070 it runs fine at 3600 Mhz or 3400 Mhz.
So weird. This will be my last Gigabyte board. Had to do too much troubleshooting to get it working. It's a silly waste of time.
How many fans can u connect on it? My case has 4 can it support them all?

When I connected the outlet, the blue LED went in and out of the heat sink, so I was surprised and asked.^^

To the second question. It won't disable it. It might cut the speed in half which is still more available bandwidth than any available cards can handle .

After your review I purchase this board after finding a great open box deal on Amazon $110 😁. This will be my first PC build in 15 years, using it with a Ryzen 5 5600X, and I picked up a GTX 980 it 6Gb off eBay due to the high prices of GPUs 😤, and one a stick of 32 g Kindston fury running at 3600mh as you stated with one stick you can overclock it even more and I was definitely wanting to try that with the CPU Ram and GPU. Case in NZXT H510, NZXT 850C power supply and a 120mm NZXT AIO for CPU and a 240mm NZXT AIO for the GPU with the adapter for that.
My question is? using only one stick of Ram I use the second dim slot correct? To be able to overclock it to the highest level or does it not matter which slot are use.

Dude. All DDR memory should be used in DUAL CHANNEL mode, which means 2 sticks minimum. You should never use an odd number of sticks, except maybe for troubleshooting a faulty module.

@@uchoob246 that’s not true, some single sticks of memory I already dual channel, and some motherboard support the ability to over clock, a single stick dual channel memory to maximize the speed
And what about the usb problem, I bought it a month ago and I have not been able to work very well because it disconnects my external drives connected to the usb, they disconnect and connect every time I put the processor to work.
I bought a Pc with this board a Ryzen 5600x 16 GB RAM, 1 NVMe WD Black 750 500 GB, GTX 3060 Ti, and 1 pcie Wifi dongle. Can I mount a 2nd NVMe of 1TB on the second slot and maintain performance?

I rly like ur style when you lay down your toughts about the stuff, Ive leared much more from you then the US what ever Linus Nobrain, 50cent etc.
3 weeks since I went from Intel to AMD. 8700k to 5900x, dubble core dubble threads. Gigabit software is not very impressive, though it have a softwarwe 4,5gz all core OC and that works very well with Cubase, lots of vst power without stressing the system. I didn't buy this upgrade to boost my gaming performace, The 8700k is still a great gaming cpu. The 5900x get a bit hotter then the 8700k but this is a super bargin. If you dont need the x570 specific extras then go for this one, no usb c back plate but usb c for front, great breat mb for the price
even then running 8700k at 5ghz all core.
One Year later
This mothertboard have worked perfect since I bought it, the diffence in cpu power (8700k) in Cubase have been, well just silly, I don't do 120 ch film score, but some projects end up 50-60 ch and I have yet not experience any stutter or digital corruption when I'm using the system, the 5900x on this MB still runs very smooth

@@XHobbiesPrime I think that you need to update every board that does not say ryzen 5000 ready on the box. So if it says ryzen 3rd gen or something like that you might need to update the board and thats easy to do
