But a console or pc cannot render a movie. It is very complicated to develop a game. But you have these idiots in their seat that know nothing. Just look at Demon souls, RE 2 remake and see this. This should even look better than those because it's like a 4 hour game. All they had to do was make graphics from the scratch and they made it something like it's from a decade ago.
It looks like they tried to make it cartoonish, that's the style they wanted to go for, but that's not the problem, the problem is that it looks flat, like there are no shadows on the characters, Rachet and Clank looks amazing and is cartoonish, i think it needs some raytracing or something so the game pop's out more 🤔

Mafia remake and demon souls remake shows the difference from the original. This Prince of Persia is a remaster at best. Ubisoft should not have used an engine that is not appropriate for this game.
I think it looks pretty good actually. It follows the originals art style which i like. I want it to look as close to the original art and graphics style wise as possible. It's probably just zoomers, who never actually played the original, complaining.
You do realise you're not the intended audience, right? Assuming this is a multi-million funded game, if this flops then that'll be the final nail in the coffin for this once-reigning franchise. I grew up with this game and in today's day and age, releasing like that will just turn a bunch of new players away. A healthy sales chart will allow this franchise to ACTUALLY flourish once more so you shouldn't be quick to dismiss any actual criticisms. Nostalgia can be nice but you have to keep up with the times at the end of the day.

I don’t get the hate for this game. We’ve been asking Ubisoft to bring back Prince of Persia for a long time. And the fact that they even thought about bringing P.O.P back redefines selflessness. And even if there are problems with the game, Ubisoft has plenty of time to fix them before the release date. I’m just grateful that Prince of Persia is back, even if it is a remake of the 2003 game

I will say that the Prince in the cover art does look great. and I do like that the voices were rerecorded. Farah actually sounds more Indian in the remake. Prince was reprised by Yuri Lowenthal so he sounds the same. same but different too.
I'll revisit Sands of Time whether it looks as we've seen or improved. As long as it runs 1080p on a modern platform, and it *feels* like the original, I'll be happy.

The sands of time was cartoony. Warriors within was more gritty and dark. The two thrones was a perfect blend of both. If ubisoft is in this far keep going! I want a remake of the sands of time trilogy. People complaining about this remake probably weren't old enough to play the originals or just was not born yet. Born in broadband "gamers" are the reason why games like these have dwindled. They have no idea how revolutionary these games were for an entire genre.

I would definitely give it a go, they have made subtle changes it looks like with dialogue and even an actor or 2 but the game should hold true to what it was back in the day. My childhood revolves around the PS2 trilogy Prince of Persia being this one Warrior Within and Two Thrones. Definitely recommend it and I hope they remake the other two games as well.
Sands of Time was great, yes, the other two, on the other hand. Let's just say the stories were awful and full of plotholes and most people enjoy the second one (The most popular one) only for the Gore and Tits and not the actual Plot.

Despite popular opinion I thought the prince of persia movie was kinda cool, definitely a movie I could turn on and pass out too late at night. In terms of a live action video game adaption I would say its one of the better ones, if not the best. I specify movie cuz now with something like the Witcher out, its a hell of a contender despite it being a "TV" series. Love Prince of Persia though THIS IS MY CHILDHOOD RIGHT HERE!
@Ka Nekht Kamose I'm inclined to disagree, out of opinion of course, from my perspective I thought he looked and sounded the part in a translation to a movie for the game, what they messed up on is the story writing itself, they made changes and stuff that didnt feel right and they wrote the prince in a dofferent way, if we saw the movie in more in a relatable way to the first game I think it would have worked a lot better. I have a problem with the movie only in the instamce that it didnt replicate more of what the first game was. I literally could live with everything else otherwise, even the change in the dagger which I still only "tolerate" compared to the original. The original felt and looked like a story being told by the prince. This style would make sense if they were going for a similar look. Like a page out of a story book. On top of that, if you make it look exactly like Assassin's Creed, that's all it would be known as. Assassin's Creed with time powers and not Prince of Persia. They're giving the game it's own identity.

It’s pretty but the main feeling is gone, the slim look of the prince, the almost horror game feel of the fog, the charm just really isn’t there. It makes me sad; not in a “they didn’t deliver with the graphics” but sad that my childhood version just isnt there. It’s a rebuild from the ground up. This hurts more than anything. It’s like making a metal gear solid game without Hideo Kojima. It’s just not the same.

The thing is it doesn't look bad. They've gone for an art style similar to the 2008 reboot rather than something hyper real like Devil May Cry V. And for this universe it works really well. It reminds me of movies like Aladdin What they're saying about the engine. I've been a gamer for a long time I love games like this that are a little bit unique. the problem is there's a culture of 'Cheeseburger' gamers that all want games that look the same and play the same. and have the same style and that's fine the thing is though... stuff like this is much more interesting to me.
If I was Ubisoft, I'd be shutting down Ubisoft India unless they made this look like a modern game and not something that should be played on a PS3 or a mobile phone.
I'll buy it no matter what it looks like, but really would like a shadow of the collossus style remake rather than one that looks like a port in HD with 16:9 ratio. I really want the world to come alive.

@John Marston I know but they fixed It and further updated the engine, so these problems don't happen anymore if you push graphics. The main things I'd want are: -reshade -better textures -better tessellation -better and more character models -better water -use the unity parkour because I'm really tired of the stop and go with Ezio

When attacking someone it deliberately decreases the animation frames, maybe because they are using the same engine as AC games where that happens too. I am not really a fan of that and I think it sucks major balls
I have the original game on steam, you can easily tweak the resolution to be 4k (2k in my case), then Reshade and some filters (fake HDR, color saturation, film grain, vignettes, bloom.. ect, you basically have the remake. I just wish I knew a way to add tessellation to the original textures. I don't think that can be done by anyone but the devs.

It all sounds like excuses, the movement of the character has nothing to with the overall visuals unless there were too many draw calls for physics animations. I really doubt that is the case as this game doesn't look anymore involved than what an AC game would be. Anyway, only Time will tell.
I loved the original game even with its terrible combat. I’m replaying now in fact and can’t wait to play the remake. Definite preorder! I hope they remake WW and TT too... guess it depends how well this does but I can’t see this doing bad. Classic game!

The whole lighting is awful. If you compare this to FFVII, Ratchet and Clank, RE2 and Shadow of the Colossus remake it looks awful

I think it looks pretty good actually. It follows the originals art style which i like. I want it to look as close to the original art and graphics style wise as possible.

You do realise you're not the intended audience, right? Assuming this is a multi-million funded game, if this flops then that'll be the final nail in the coffin for this once-reigning franchise.
I grew up with this game and in today's day and age, releasing like that will just turn a bunch of new players away. A healthy sales chart will allow this franchise to ACTUALLY flourish once more so you shouldn't be quick to dismiss any actual criticisms.
Nostalgia can be nice but you have to keep up with the times at the end of the day.

I don’t get the hate for this game. We’ve been asking Ubisoft to bring back Prince of Persia for a long time. And the fact that they even thought about bringing P.O.P back redefines selflessness. And even if there are problems with the game, Ubisoft has plenty of time to fix them before the release date. I’m just grateful that Prince of Persia is back, even if it is a remake of the 2003 game

I will say that the Prince in the cover art does look great. and I do like that the voices were rerecorded. Farah actually sounds more Indian in the remake. Prince was reprised by Yuri Lowenthal so he sounds the same. same but different too.
I'll revisit Sands of Time whether it looks as we've seen or improved. As long as it runs 1080p on a modern platform, and it *feels* like the original, I'll be happy.
God I hope they remake the entire trilogy. Seeing a warrior within remake with the same music and voices would make me so happy.

The two thrones was a perfect blend of both. If ubisoft is in this far keep going! I want a remake of the sands of time trilogy. I never played Prince of Persia but i heard people enjoyed the original Sands of Time. So i'd be interested in trying this remake.
It was one of the best games back in time
I would definitely give it a go, they have made subtle changes it looks like with dialogue and even an actor or 2 but the game should hold true to what it was back in the day. My childhood revolves around the PS2 trilogy Prince of Persia being this one Warrior Within and Two Thrones. Definitely recommend it and I hope they remake the other two games as well.

I think it will look better at launch. I feel ya though if you aren't interested in buying the game with its "design choices". They got time to really polish everything up and make it all sparkily shiny and glowy like everyone wants XD but I wont lie I think even after the polish it will still look in a similar vain to the trailer and stuff. we seen it where like cod has those textures dumbed down a little and then it launches with that "more complete" look. Likely will happen here. Or so I hope.. either way they got my money I've been asking for this for years XD

Despite popular opinion I thought the prince of persia movie was kinda cool, definitely a movie I could turn on and pass out too late at night. In terms of a live action video game adaption I would say its one of the better ones, if not the best. I specify movie cuz now with something like the Witcher out, its a hell of a contender despite it being a "TV" series. Love Prince of Persia though THIS IS MY CHILDHOOD RIGHT HERE!
@Ka Nekht Kamose I'm inclined to disagree, out of opinion of course, from my perspective I thought he looked and sounded the part in a translation to a movie for the game, what they messed up on is the story writing itself, they made changes and stuff that didnt feel right and they wrote the prince in a dofferent way, if we saw the movie in more in a relatable way to the first game I think it would have worked a lot better. I have a problem with the movie only in the instamce that it didnt replicate more of what the first game was. I literally could live with everything else otherwise, even the change in the dagger which I still only "tolerate" compared to the original. Shit imagine seeing the Two Thrones Dagger on the big screen? Looking dope and glowing as much as ever. Shit id pay to see that. Still, not the worst game adaption movie out there
The main problem as for me is in change of characters outlook. The original Prince and Farah looked much younger and better. Same with voices. Also the original music was the state of the art, dont know if they ll keep it
The original felt and looked like a story being told by the prince. This style would make sense if they were going for a similar look. Like a page out of a story book. On top of that, if you make it look exactly like Assassin's Creed, that's all it would be known as. Assassin's Creed with time powers and not Prince of Persia. They're giving the game it's own identity.

the release of the trailer was actually for nintendo switch so it looks like that ..... the original game to be played in PC, XBOX, PS5 or PS4 are totally different the game is still under development ........ actually it is very hard for a team to work in this series.... I heard they gave the PoP remake project to a bunch of amateurs at one of their places. I think it was Ubisoft India or Mumbai. Makes sense now. I guess the people who made Assasin's Creed or the Division weren't interested enough to take this project.

It’s pretty but the main feeling is gone, the slim look of the prince, the almost horror game feel of the fog, the charm just really isn’t there. It makes me sad; not in a “they didn’t deliver with the graphics” but sad that my childhood version just isnt there. It’s a rebuild from the ground up. This hurts more than anything. It’s like making a metal gear solid game without Hideo Kojima. It’s just not the same.
Nostalgia hits and I would love to support #UbisoftIndia ,since it's game that's devloped by my country's ppl. Lol

The thing is it doesn't look bad. They've gone for an art style similar to the 2008 reboot rather than something hyper real like Devil May Cry V. And for this universe it works really well. It reminds me of movies like Aladdin What they're saying about the engine. I've been a gamer for a long time I love games like this that are a little bit unique. the problem is there's a culture of 'Cheeseburger' gamers that all want games that look the same and play the same. and have the same style and that's fine the thing is though... stuff like this is much more interesting to me.
If I was Ubisoft, I'd be shutting down Ubisoft India unless they made this look like a modern game and not something that should be played on a PS3 or a mobile phone.

I have no prob with that look cuz if they go with realistic art style then they have to rely on different fighting system and that was the main prob in pop forgotten sand..i prefer the old nostalgic fighting techniques over art style...

-better textures
-better tessellation
-better and more character models
-better water

When attacking someone it deliberately decreases the animation frames, maybe because they are using the same engine as AC games where that happens too. I am not really a fan of that and I think it sucks major balls

I have the original game on steam, you can easily tweak the resolution to be 4k (2k in my case), then Reshade and some filters (fake HDR, color saturation, film grain, vignettes, bloom.. ect, you basically have the remake. I just wish I knew a way to add tessellation to the original textures. I don't think that can be done by anyone but the devs.

It all sounds like excuses, the movement of the character has nothing to with the overall visuals unless there were too many draw calls for physics animations. I really doubt that is the case as this game doesn't look anymore involved than what an AC game would be.
