Not an expert on this matter but would highly recommend talking to some of your friends/colleagues here, they should be able name a few such agencies/companies. We rented via Vesteda and our experience was good.

1200 with utilities would be a rare find. However, if vicinity to Amsterdam isn’t your preference, you may end up with something on your hands.

Would you suggest reaching out to agents for house search while we're still in India? Also, based on your experience can you recommend any reasonable agents who could help expats from India?
Yes, rental housing market is crazy at the moment in NL. If you have some authentic housing agents, you can reach out to them from India and share your travel details. They can help you schedule appointments for viewings as soon as you land. Don’t pay anything upfront.
Pretty much everything in NL works via an appointment system and hence you won’t be able to just knock on a door and enter an apartment for viewing.
Also, if you are not able to find a suitable apartment, find a temporary accommodation in Haarlem, Zaandam, Almere, Amstelveen, Purmerend. These cities are very well connected with Amsterdam. Good luck and feel free to drop a message on our instagram if you need further help.
