I came to the USA 55 years ago when I was 20 years old. There were very very few Indians in the USA. I was one of those. I faced all kinds of difficulties in those days. The items you are describing are cultural shocks, there were no Indian grocery stores, timing of stores open/close, heating and air conditioning, vegetarian foods, Indian shoes ( not working in 12 feet of snow) and so many others, American college system and its grading system. Finally, I wrote a book (200 pages) about my experiences in the USA. The title of the book is "Eight $ Immigrant". I came to the USA with eight $ in my pocket. I grew up in a small place and did my matriculation in Gujarat, 19 miles from Bhavnagar called Songadh. Now I am a naturalized US citizen. I am so glad I am watching your video and both of you are doing a superb job of describing all aspects of life in the Netherlands. Coming from India and living in a foreign land in itself a challenge. I thank you so much. Best of luck to both of you.
Weather and lonely life are two very big factors that deteriorate your mental health slowly but surely. When you are young you are motivated , but staying for a longer period of time in these countries take it's toll on person's mental and physical health....
I went to Poland in spring (June). When I reached there it was sunny. I skipped my lunch and thought of having a wonderful dinner after returning from a walk. It was around 9:30pm but no sunset. I was Damn hungry but all the restaurants were closed. 😭 In Europe you would find these time things are so prominent. 1.Transport 2. Restaurants 3. Movies etc. Not a single minute idhar udhar. In that way we Indians are unruly but we are accommodative. 😎😀
Two years back I traveled NL in January. First challenge was weather - 3 deg. Next - Traveling to office from home (Haarlem to Den Haag), Next was cooking and washing dishes. But Thanks for the video - Jai Hind.
strongly agree with each and every point. I recently moved to England, so, har Ek point ko main bhut ache se relate Far pa rhi hu. Plus one more point jo main bhut jyada miss krti hu ki yha india jysi biryani ni milti hai :(
Nicely planned, prepared and edited video guys. Good works on helping us. I remember when I visited Netherlands i noticed the stairs and was confused to see such narrow steps in a good recently constructed building.
Not just the right hand drive, but being extra cautious of the bikers here in Amsterdam while driving is a big big challenge. We moved from Delhi and It's been 6 months for us here in Amsterdam, but still getting used to that change. Keep up the good work guys, and stay safe.
I was wondering if living in Amsterdam/ Rotterdam Netherlands may be better than Toronto Canada but the all year round weather is a huge no-go for me. Thanks for the video. Very helpful.
All points you mentioned are very much valid and I can relate my self.I faced one more issue.."Finding good rental apartment".I came in the pick season and I have to settle with studio instead of apartment in Maastricht, Netherlands 😞
Graduation is not possible as it’s only in Dutch language but Post graduation is good..Job is as well after PG course but also depends on the field of education

In India, the weather is your friend, house maid is your friend, neighbours are your friends, daylight is your friend, language is yours, diseases are your friends, AC is your friend, we have elevators, Indian food is obviously abundant, sensitivity is in our blood, following road sense is not at all needed, shopping is a happy happy experience. Phir bhi log west jaaneki soch mein present life barbaad karr dete hain.
My wife and I are used to working and are habitual but yes like in India we don't have people to meet and pass the time. In Germany also I am facing the same situation. What abt the driving Licence there.
Wonderful videos by Desi couple on the go, I exactly went through these challenges when I was in netherlands in 2009 to 2013 for higher studies and worst experience of loneliness as I lived alone.

Any suggestion for International English school for 12 year old kid (Class 6) moving Netherlands with parents? Which city we should choose to live considering good International school and availability of good houses on rent?
In India there's no decent work life balance. They expect people to work in office and also at home at the end of the day. So this may require a house help. But over there, a decent work life balance exists and after office we get enough time to do chores and so help may not be a need. Isn't it this way?
Thanks for the video, Could you please make a video on Netherlands Orientation Visa, there's no concrete answer mentioned, Need your insights. Thank you.

Keep occupied with constructive activities, volunteer groups, friends. Loneliness is not good anywhere! Also do meditation, reading, study, etc.
When I visited Netherlands - it was damn silent , it was a big challenge to live with such silence 😂

Timing and punctuality is very important in life. Unfortunately, in India we are hard workers but never give importance to punctuality.
