I use my cheese grater and grate the butter into my biscuits.
The pioneer woman taught me that if I have no buttermilk you can actually make some with milk and vinegar. Works like a charm. 🤗
You can use lemon juice too! And it also works with nut milks, though probably not as well. It was a lifesaver as a college student

My favorite chocolate cake recipe calls for a cup of buttermilk - I cannot tolerate any dairy (or gluten) so I just pour a tablespoon of so of vinegar in my measuring cup then add almond milk to equal a cup. It works fine, too. 😬

Yes I always use the vinegar method since I do not keep buttermilk in the fridge!.Also I use frozen butter in my biscuits and I grate it, so much easier!

Momma and dad had eight kids. She was know for her biscuits everywhere. I love buttermilk biscuits and she would make tomato gravy that was out of this world. She would make 36 biscuits at a time. Oh I do miss her and my dad.

And I’m definitely of the school of thought that anything you make from scratch rather than buy is healthier. Store bought usually means heavily processed with lots of added preservatives and salt/sugar that’s not needed or good for you!

I have found that the easiest way to cut in butter is to grate it!

Next time instead of buying buttermilk when you’re out, use regular milk and put about a tablespoon of butter per cup, and let it sit, viola! Makeshift buttermilk! Works great. Also, to cut my butter into flour I put it in a food processor, takes seconds and is so much easier! If you can stand the extra dishes…

Man those biscuits sound amazing! A couple tips that came to mind that might be helpful - or disregard if you already know about them. My mom is a florist and always suggests cutting stems at an angle to help absorb water. Tip two is about cutting cold butter for a recipe without actually using a knife. I learned this from a sourdough blog and it has really changed my life when I’m baking and cutting cold butter. Use a cheese grater!!

Great flower! Flowers need to have stems cut at an angle…before placing in vase, the green leaves shouldn’t be inside the water. They need to be removed.

Biscuits look amazing. I have noticed though that in most TH-cam cooking vids people put a baking tray/dish/pot on a dirty surface (flour etc) which drives me crazy as I know this then makes the oven dirtier quicker.
You have your middle dragon coil pointing the wrong way! The spines on the back should face towards the back. My son pointed it out to me and once you see it you can't unsee it. Lol p.s. it's darling!

An unsolicited tip from me, not meaning to be a trouble maker, but I’ve had ivy in my garden and that stinkin stuff will take over and snuff out your other plants! It’s the devil to get rid of! With that being said, if I wanted the gosh darn stuff to grow in my garden, it would not. I think I’m best at growing weeds! 😂 ❤

Like your shade garden, I find it difficult to get any plants to grow in mine. Is the middle section of your dragon backwards? The spikes seemed to point in a different direction to the head and tail.

Although very pretty, you may want to pull the ivy off the other plants and trees its growing up. It will choke the trees. Trim ivy at the bottom of the tree and gently pull it off said tree. Will eventually kill tree and make it fall 😜
