Haven’t heard this song in over a decade but had a visceral reaction to the end bc I immediately remembered how many combos I dropped bc of my own carelessness
This was the song of duels. Never mind your Max 300. Anytime there was a question of who was the best, this was ALWAYS, the song to compete in. And we always gripped an imaginary scabbard poised for strike as we played. To break this stance is to forfeit. The only exception was 0:36 you still had to hold the scabbard flipped in drawing position, but you were free to use your drawing hand to grip imaginary reins. We were so fucking lame, but we were fucking awesome.
Ah yes, Tsugaru. A very fun step chart and definitely lives up to the its 9-Footer ranking. The beginning is quite fun and the gallops definitely threw people off due to those very tricky and hardly seen 1/32nd beats put in there between the normal gallops. Even know that they alternated for a time you still had to remember to go fast enough to nail them, and then there was that trick part between the two jumps where you had to nail the 1-2-3 bit. Yup, definitely tough but extremely fun.
I'd give anything to play DDR again, there's not a single DDR machine anywhere near where I live. I haven't played since 2018, I might be 33 and a little broken down but my pride says I can still play as good as I did long ago.
Lmao yea this seems very short when you're not frantically trying to tap the arrows....when you're actually playing it feels like a minute and a half of pure HELL XD
My aunt and uncle had multiple DDR pads, arcade-style and generic matted, and I remember them having this song on their PS2 DDR game. This was one of the only 2 songs I loved to play on it, the other being 'In The Navy.' To this day, I have not found a single DDR machine with this song on it after just shy of 20 years. And with that, I have not cared to play it since.... Probably for the better, since I have a severely damaged leg now, but still... I would gladly fuck my leg up for a month or few JUST to play this song again on max difficulty. It's been too long, and I genuinely miss it.
I recently found out that I have arthritis is both my knees. It was most likely from all the DDR I played growing up. Shouldn't have made fun of the bar-huggers in the arcade. They probably have functioning knees.
I remember it was winterbreak 2004 and i challenged my friend when we were 12 years old to beat this song only using his right foot. He fucking did it and it was the funniest shit I had ever seen (his other foot had to stay planted in the middle of the pad).
I miss playing the Ddr as a kid me and my brothers would dance alot were my dad used to work at. so we bowled and play ddr. my older brother was way better then us. Good times.
Should have renamed the song as "Dance of The Haughty Hime" because that's what it sounds like lol. I can picture a Japanese princess wearing her provocative kimono while holding two fans dancing lively to the beat.
I used to be able to double-A this on heavy. For some added flare, I'd hit the half-skip steps Riverdance style with my hands on my hips. That was roughly eighteen years ago, the thought of even attempting that feat again gives me chest pains.
This song is one of those things that activate your muscle memory of the game lol, suddenly you see the arrows again
God I hate that you’re right
God, I can hear bits oh Philly Nice
especially the horse gallaping section
@@treebush This song taught me how to hit those notes! Im so glad you said this!
Are you from Italy, Jake Coppola?
When I hear this song, my feet start hitting imaginary arrows on the floor.
We can say that about any ddr song haha
Evan Dempsey Start seeing arrows when I close my eyes.
Same the part where it slows down I went left foot doooooown right foot doooooown
That's funny. You could probably say that to any DDR song
I alway loves ddr at the arcade
this song brings me nostalgia, I can see my mom playing this game every night, I miss her and those kind of things makes me feel alive.
Your mom is obviously awesome.
toast to your mom. i played with my bro and kids too, memories!
this was a tough one for sure!! good times
We broke pads doing this song. Memories...

I'm honestly jealous I didn't play ddr with you growing up
That sounds like the coolest shit ever and I so would've been down to do that even now
This song is SOOOO dope even after all these years
Yeah buddy. It just popped into my head BAM.

Get a home pad and hook it up to stepmania!
And if you can't get a pad, you can always play with your fingers!
I remember this song SO VIVIDLY...i can see my father STILL dancing his way to the perfect score like the competitive mad man he is.
Even today, 20 some odd years later, this song immediately brings me back. My brother and I would play this one song SO MUCH.
I remember how unresponsive those pads could be sometimes
Yes! Especially with the triple stacked arrows
Used to frustrate me beyond belief lol
Lmao yea this seems very short when you're not frantically trying to tap the arrows....when you're actually playing it feels like a minute and a half of pure HELL XD
This is easy man
@@kaimanodoburaco5161 Maybe on your setting LOL
@@SpawnViper4 nah, for everyone, it's really easy
@@kaimanodoburaco5161 it’s a 9 foot ranking of 10 on hardest difficulty. You can just admit you had it on standard. :P
@@mochabearry at that time maybe, but it's really an easy 9 footer, just accept it
Can still remember every single arrow.
this song was so dope I always dumbed out on the gallops on heavy and went into auto pilot one of my fav DDR songs of all time
One of my favorite song to AAA I love the gallops at 0:36 to this song
Leon Kennedy Yessss. Got a smile on my face every time.
+Leon Kennedy What is DDR?
+ChaosPdx lol
It's like a traditional Japanese dance it was fun
love the gallop
This is the single song that I learned to not fumble and miss arrows in that rhythm. It was a moment of sudden realization.
Before this, I had no idea that hardcore shamisen music could be a thing.
After 17 years i found this song!! Still amazing af
i remember that galloping part almost by memory. haha. same with that and the track " so deep" lol
Absolutely incredible piece. Love this so much back in the day and made videos using it as background music. This is legendary!
Naoki Maeda VS Naoki Maeda
I thought De-Sire was Takayuki Ishikawa
LOL :V
Paul Hitchens lol
he would use a similar alias “DE-JAVU” for ddr x3 vs 2nd mix though in trip machine evolution
Naoki VS Himself
He’s basically fighting a clone of himself.
yes this song feels like hell after like 3 beers
The shamisen here is really top notch. If you like this Japanese genre, check out the Yoshida Brothers
Strangely, I found the Yoshida brothers while looking for this exact song 😂 they're frickin awesome
I love this song so much 🙌 and such a fun chart to play~
I had this song in my head the whole time I was walking around Nara, the ancient capital of Japan.
This was my first song i ever completed on expert mode :) Once you got the gallop down, it was easy
THE GALLOP. Yes!! Lol
The crossover hell at 1:05 would like to have a word with you.
斬新でかっこいい!
The best DDR song of any game hands down.
No idea how many years later, this song still slaps
With a katana Scabbard! :P
Did anyone else (if you ever played on light mode) jump reaaaaaallly slow
+Iceechibi no we arent filthy casuals
+Josh Cruz I'm sorry I can't hear you, the nostalgia of me having fun is too loud over here.

This and whistle song were my jams on max 3
Homie: “ay no one’s done a sekiro speedrun yet”

DDR 2 …my life on the line.. this was the banger
Loved doing the "horse step" with my hands on my hips. Looked stupid AF.
All perfect then.. great on the BPM change with holds @ end -_- Still have a polaroid of my first AAA on this song.
Oh man what a throwback! This song was fucking awesome and got so much playtime when I had Extreme.
omg what a punch to the nostalgia! :0
right
0:59 - 1:06 So fucking many chills my spine froze...........
I agree it's the best part but it will make you focus like your getting stronger or something.
My first song in DDR, and the one I trained on to work my way up to Break Down's BPM. Ah...memories...
THIS IS WHY I EVEN STARTED LOOKING FOR DDR SONGS TO BEGIN WITH!!! Ahhhh!!! 🕺🏽🕺🏽🕺🏽🕺🏽🕺🏽
I hope my body can take it.

I KNOW it's on DDR Extreme machines. Because that is the machine I used to break myself trying to keep up with the song on, back in he day.
You can find it in DDRMAX2 machines and later

sooo many years of frustration!!!! lol still loved every second of ddr lol
SO MANY MEMORIES.
Should have renamed the song as "Dance of The Haughty Hime" because that's what it sounds like lol. I can picture a Japanese princess wearing her provocative kimono while holding two fans dancing lively to the beat.
THAT BREAKDOWN WAS ALWAYS THE SICKEST PART SO FUN TO DANCE ON
RevenG always has the best songs on DDR IMO
The muscles in my legs are cramping and aching just listening to this.
Awww so many memories of dancing to this EVERY DAY!!!
I used to be able to double-A this on heavy. For some added flare, I'd hit the half-skip steps Riverdance style with my hands on my hips. That was roughly eighteen years ago, the thought of even attempting that feat again gives me chest pains.
The steps for this song on heavy mode are absolute legendary.
Oh my god my feet remember the gallops.
This brings back MEMORIES ya heard me?! 👌🏾🙌🏾
友人と0:36の所に「田吾作ステップ」という名前をつけて、あえてガニマタで踏んでいたのを思い出します。
this song would go great with a Ninja-like endurance mini game...
this is one of the first songs I ever AAA'd back when I used to play DDR excessively
I have a friend of 34 years, and she still rocks!
ive always wanted a REAL brother relationship with you
Yo-you do? I'd like nothing better!
ho. lt. FUCK. YOu have NO IDEA how many memories this brings back!!

My favourite track off DDR :)
No one is ever too old for DDR
This song broke bones.
1:12
I HAVE LOVE! Seriously, this makes me want to buy a shamisen. They're not actually THAT expensive on eBay.
This song taught me the meaning of the word, "Skips".
When Princess Peach transformed into a ninja in Princess Peach Showtime
Back in the day when I used to kill this song on DDR
