The extra width has something to do with stability, which was satisfatory on Olympic and could've been improved on Britannic. Titanic: Honor and Glory, Since you made this Britannic Video I have a question, do you imagine in the future making a video of the Olympic with the Layout and only external with the Painting and the Structure in the First War?
Thomas Swenson aside from a few small details (like the propellors), these models are printed in one single piece. But yes, you can order them unpainted and paint them yourself! You get to have the fun painting it, save some money, and you’ll get it in the mail quicker than if we painted it!
Are we forgetting to mention that Britannic was a full 7’6” longer and 1’6” wider than her sisters? This was the most obvious difference that should have been touched on. The extension of the double hull extruded the footprint of the Olympic Class design.
There's a lot of myths about Britannic, her increased length being one of them. While her hull was about 2 feet wider to accommodate her double hull, she was almost the exact same length as her elder sisters at 882 feet 9 inches, a miniscule difference of 3 inches.
@@paulheenan9098 "Myth" or not, that's still a major alteration in the overall hull design worth mentioning especially if the video is going into this much detail on the differences in of the three ships in the Olympic Class. Three inches is by definition an increased hull length, therefore it is technically not a myth. A more appropriate way to phrase it would be to claim that the commonly published hull length of 890' 3" is inaccurate.
@@SouthernPacific8984 I've never seen any "commonly published" material claiming that she was 890 feet, only a few people confusing her with Aquitania by claiming she was 901 feet. Both Harland & Wolff and the Board of Trade measured her as being the same length as her elder sister but even if she was 3 inches longer, that tiny difference isn't noticeable in a hull that's nearly 900 feet long and can be disregarded.

Wofür zum Teufel war das !!!!!
If Titanic entered service in April 1912. Olympic enterd service on June 14th, 1911. 8 months before titanic. If Britannic would have enterd service 9 months after Titanic, Britannic would have entered service in January 1913, provided there were no interruptions/ changes during construction.
Titanic: Honor and Glory, Since you made this Britannic Video I have a question, do you imagine in the future making a video of the Olympic with the Layout and only external with the Painting and the Structure in the First War?
3:15 I love how Americans pronounce british places completely different to the way we do
Completely different THAN the way you do lol
Carl Spackler lol :)

Can we order models that we put together ourselves, and paint? I use to love doing model ships as a kid! I still consider doing them again!
Thomas Swenson aside from a few small details (like the propellors), these models are printed in one single piece. But yes, you can order them unpainted and paint them yourself! You get to have the fun painting it, save some money, and you’ll get it in the mail quicker than if we painted it!
I wish i got that Britannic (RMS) model. Hope its still available
the olympic class deserved so much better
I have a question where did you get those models in the beginning because I always wanted one and how much was it
They make them themselves and sell them on their website.
Look 3 sheeps titanic britanic e olimpic legal que trio fantástico de navios bacana parabéns sucesso pra vc
THE LEGENDS OF THE OCEAN
Will there be a Black Friday sale for the models?
How about painting some of your Olympic models in WWI dazzle camouflage?
I'm considering buying one or more of these models. Can anyone speak to the quality and accuracy of the models?
umm i went to the website and looked at the models and why are they so expensive? :(
The Emphasiis has to be on ''The OLD--Reliable' It was the middle of the worst depression in history, With fewer passenger's, choosing the newer ships, like Queen Mary, and Normandie. It was too late , and expensive, to up-date the Titanic--ere--Olympic.
RIP those who perished on Titanic and Britannic
All three of sisters ships are good each other. I feel sorry for Olympic lost Titanic before Britannic was built or finish getting know about it.
Britannic is my favorite ocean liner
