My dad drives one, and I can tell you it deserves the S badge. It’s not a V8 petrol, its not a V10, but it doesn’t have to be. If you want a V8 petrol engine buy an RS6. The power of this car while driving with not even 7 liters per 100km is great. It really is a great car. Drives great, sounds actually really good. If you want an aggressive looking, loud, (fast) fast car buy an RS6. If you want a really nice car to drive around everyday with enough power and a great fuel economy buy an S6. Great car

On the other hand it can be fixed fairly easy. If you're into euro wagons, well even a stage 1 or 2 tuning to the ecu might have serious impact on the performance. As for the exhaust I'm sure there will be aftermarket rear bumpers designed to fit a sick single exhaust pipe (which looks cool on wagons IMO) but anyways, those are my two cents. If you can afford that car, it is quite possible you can afford some little tweaks to make it a proper fast wagon. (:
I believe it's a bit too expensive to buy one and start doing things to the car to be capable of doing what it should do out of the factory. The "S" should mean more than this car has to offer. IMO
1. There is no "fake sound" generator, the exhaust has a valve system 2. the gearbox far from "reallyyy slow" or feel like 8 y/o. Gearshift is near instant in manual mode. Delay in other mode is also confort for daily driving avoiding constant gearshifting as there is 8 of them.
One think I absolutely do not understand is, why everybody say that the S6 is more expensive than the A6 50TDI??? I have a M550d and I plan now for my next car to buy the S6 (because BMW have no more the 50d engine and the A/S6 have more legroom ). I configure the S6 and the A6 50TDI. When I put in the exactly same options, the A6 50TDi is 300€ more expensive then the S6. Because the S6 have the S line interieur and exterieur, the 4 zone A/C and a lot of other options. So this comparison of the price make no sense! It is not a real S6 in my eyes, but it is a good price for this car I think!
Christian Andolini not my i rent it, went to Amsterdam and nurburgring. Nice to drive, but in very low speed engine running seems bit rough, not refine enough. in middle range speed very powerful.
This is so funny. Had one on the Autobahn a couple of weeks back and the driver was clearly younger and from an Audi car dealer. He was flooring the car pretty much all the time and it was close, but no big problem for me to overtake that dude once the Autobahn turned into 3 lanes with my X5 M50d from 2014. I think Audi needs a new sale strategy or better Diesel engines (the V8 Diesel was nice but nowhere close to reliable). However, the looks of Audi cars is really nice. The RS models actually look awesome.
I bought and A6 45 TDI with S-line outside package. I can say that I am not at all bummed to see what the S6 turned out to be. I have never really been into estate cars so RS6 has not really tempted me. Not that I would want to spend that much money on a car. I'd rather go for MB GT 4door

People complaining about the exhausts that they are never going to see because they aren't going to ever own one 😂. I love this s6 I still think if they're using diesel they should've used the V8 diesel they put in the sq7 and sq8 but either way it's a good car and it's not meant for picky 14 year olds that complain about aspects of the car that they won't ever get to properly experience. It's got other priorities than to please petrol heads and children. If you want outright performance buy a Porsche panamera sport turismo. Becuase even the new rs6 is slow compared to its rivals. Anyway that's my opinion feel free to tell me I'm wrong :)
super car for long distance trips! not explosive but very constant and fast acceleration. The fake exhaust are disappointing but we think that the guys from Audi made a quite good job with this diesel „sound“. 💨🏁
That fake exhaust pipes have reason they're there. From what I read, the main designer of this Audi S6 intended this to have real quad exhaust pipes because it was meant to be petrol. But then someone at Audi decided to make it diesel. The problem was that design couldn't be changed at that time they decided it to be diesel so they kept the exhaust pipes and just made them fake. I mean it still looks dumb but it wasn't meant to be like that on purpose I guess.

Like others said with new C8 Audi's gap between S6 and RS6 being 250 hp is just too big and gap between A6 and S6 is so small I'd rather buy top-of-the-line A6 and put a chip on it - might as well be faster than this S6. Not saying I don't like the S6, but Audi didn't think this through with C8 lineup and that's a bit sad, considering how much more room there is for BMW and other car makers without Audi giving fair competition, and RS6/S6 C7 being highly rated by people makes it worse for Audi themselves.
Just a thought from a Watchenthusiast: If you do straps, leather mainly, put rubber on the inside! It will be more comfy. Doing it on Cloth straps works too though eventho cloth is already almost as good as rubber. Also please don't try to go in the direction of Vincero, MVT or Daniel Wellington. Every person that values watches hates em. I hope you will do good to the company because you got some good designs. Make something unique to the movement like put a high frequenzy quartz on them if developing a precise Auto is too expensive. Very few make these insanely smooth moving dials (high hz makes it smoother) and i think these kind of watches are very interesting

Unfortunately I need to agree with Max that I don't understand what they were thinking of making new S6 ...first of all an Diesel, but okay on the other hand I drive and like Diesel too, while it has huge torque and its fine...BUT 350hp in 2019 is too less for an real S car from Audi!! At least I would expect 435hp like now already old SQ7 has and that would be fine! Here I don't know what to think about! Still I will definitely as an Audi guy keep buying and driving Audi's, only need to be honest, I would not consider of buying this one! I believe an A6 which is significantly cheaper with Chip tuning would give you a similar performance if even not better than this one! For example my friend has 2012 A6 biturbo tdi with stock 314hp, chipped by REVO to 380hp and insane 850Nm of torque! It does 4,3sec 0-100km/h, 13,0s 100-200km/h and top 293 km/h ALL by GPS!!! And we are talking about 7-8 years old car here, beating this brand new S6 tdi in every single discipline! I hope Audi will soon have an answer on this with a stronger engine and hopefully an petrol version what an real S model should actually be!

In Canada we do have a gasoline S6 with real exhaust pipe, however we don't get the Avant version.

To be fair i saw a new 330i with twin pipes yesterday. Only the left pipe had exhaust coming out. Awful. Id rather have 1 decent looking tailpipe.

Audi's have never had a soul. Just upgraded volkswagens. Drove a couple recent Audi's and have never felt what's so great about them.

This slow response on the accelerator and gearbox is a very known problem everyone is complaining about it! The 50 TDI has the same issue.

They should’ve putted the rs4/rs5 engine in this.. In that case 450hp compared to 600hp in Rs6 is pretty good for a S6 in my opinion @AutoTopNL
Thats exactly what they did with 2.9 V6 tfsi for US market and for s7 model too. We got basically a castrated s6 (also s4, s5, s7) for a ridiculously higher price tag compared to normal A model and yet it's not even justified.... for me EU new S models are not real audi S cars
Those fake exhaust are like putting an RS badge on your A1 25 TFSI. Or AMG on the weakest Mercedes, M badge on the smallest BMW engine etc.

They need to make about 400 hp with s6 because this engine is great in s4 to compare bmw 335d or close to bmw M340i
