It works much better in books with better paper, or it was just me being paranoid about not ripping the super cheap Amazon paper in that book. I just gessoed a page in Pop Manga Cute and Creepy Coloring book. Once it dries I will work with watercolors. It should come out nice, I hope. Lol.
Thank you for this demo, and it may save me sending back the Liquitex I just bought. I noticed that your bottle looked a lot like mine, so maybe the fact that it says acrylic on it. won't matter.
Gesso works best with layers to prevent bleed through to the other side, 3 layers is the max you should do and a minimum of 24hours drying time before using desired medium. It might feel dry, but gesso is a weird product and I always do the gesso in multiple books and leave them to dry for 2 days then stack them under another 10 books to flatten them for a few more days before checking them. More work and time to get to the optimum effect, which you might not want to do. I suppose it depends on the book and paper and what you want to get out of the experience. Good video!
very interesting, I don't think I would ever be daring enough to try this in a double sided colouring book!

I’m wondering if spray starch or Scott guard will work.
Good point. Might have to check that out.
