Owned a manual 2015 Z07 recently. Only problem with this car is you can’t fully enjoy the power without going to jail if you’re caught. You have to tame the beast in the city and honestly, it’s way more fun driving a less powerful car harder around town
I have that same car but 7 speed with competition seats and Z07 package and full aero. The carbon ceramic brakes are awesome and give off very little brake dust . I will never get rid of my car it is a beast. By the way you did a very good review much success for you on your channel...
@@AutoWisdom Yes I searched for this spec for months before I found one and I found it in another state. It arrived in perfect condition and whoever owned took great care of it. Keep up your reviews. Perhaps review a new CTSV...
I have two C7 Z06’s, both M7 manuals, one a stock Z06/Z07 for summers in Michigan, and a modified (ported blower, cylinder heads, cam, and tune putting out somewhere north of 725 hp for winters in Florida. I would characterize the former as really quick, and the latter as pure, unadulterated, animalistic fury when all the horses are unleashed after rolling into full throttle. I would rate handling and braking on the modified non-Z07 as A to A+, while those traits on the Z07 are in the other worldly class. I would never consider selling either car, as they are by far the best manual transmission high performance cars in a long line of same I have driven since 1979. Very nice review!
Excellent! Best America Super Car I ever had. 2019 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 in the 1LZ Lightest version. Automatic! If you want to slam the pedal to the metal at 30 mph you better be pointing this vehicle straight on a flat surface. If the surface is wet wait for another day. The Z06 in my experience is the fastest at a rolling start like 30 to 40 mph it will beat any factory vehicle under a million dollars. Worth every dollar! I will miss the 2019 Z06.
Watching this I just got a "new" 2015 C7Z 3LZ Z07with only 38k miles and bolt ons and E50 tune 700whp and full ZR1 conversion, sitting on gloss black 18" Forgestar D5's all around and 345's in the rear 😎. This car breaks necks left and right.
I bought a 2016 3LZ Z06 vert, May 2023. I love it. I just today (12/15/23) installed an AFE cold air intake. I agree with most of your review (especially trans and torque converter) but my car definitely steps out with traction control on. It flat out goes sideways, while the traction control lamp on the instruments is blinking at me. Haha! oh well, thanks for the video!
Purchased new 2015 Z06 M7 and recently sent it to Race Proven Motorsports in Delaware. Had them install Stage 4 package. 745 rwhp 775 rwtorque. Absolutely insane and 100% dependability on 93 octane pump gas. I enjoy it more everyday.
Thanks for sharing the video! I've owned my '19 for about a year now. It's amazing how fast you can get into trouble with this car, lol. I never-ever feel like I need more power or even a louder exhaust. Going into this I originally wanted a C8, which at the time was only available as the base model Stingray. Glad I didn't go in that direction. The C7Z is just a different animal all together. The only way I'd consider selling this car is to upgrade into the C7 ZR1 or, to a lesser degree, a C8Z.
Nice review. appreciate the honesty about the transmission. I hope to pick up a Z06 next week with exactly the same configuration and color. I need to watch TH-cam videos before the test drive. the 2019 is way different than my C2, 383 stroker with tremec 5sp..
Some notes on the lt4: 2018-2019 most of the heat soak issues were fixed but the engine controller will reduce timing and add fuel reducing torque, the engine oil temperatures can get hot fast +240 F the oil vapor is sucked into the engine via pcv, too much will cause pre ignition knock furthur reducing engine torque, most manual 7 speed cars dont have these issues as bad as they dont require additional oil heat exchangers, ive pushed my 7 speed and the hottest ive got was 265F with noticeable power reduction after peak torque at 4400rpm, found out that shifting at 5800-6000 vs 6600 reduceced my oil temps by about 15-20F or 245F, mobile 1 dextros 2 specifications encourage oil temperatures under 250f to reduce degradation and at 300F failure is expected, before and after oil samples on track days show that keeping temperatures under 250F is the rule of thumb with these cars
@@AutoWisdom another issue that plagues manual cars more than autos is the caster angles and the run flat tire relationship, the suspension control system is integrated into the chassis controller that will override the ECU's delivery strategy even when TC/SCS is turned off, what makes it dangerous is when the chassis controller trys to use the abs system to control (assumed) wheel spin combined with a radial tire with positive caster creates a condition i call "torquing the chassis" when the abs is released the experience is very unstable oversteer, now the abs system fights your brake input to keep the rear tires from locking but the over steer is so bad the radials cant regain grip without counter steering and slight power as their is no emergency brake quickly control the over steer 🥴 some ppl that have pushed these cars on the track know exactly what "riding the tail of the dragon" is with these cars.....note auto cars suffer less as the parasitic loss acts as a buffer along with the converter stall

Did this feel faster or about the same as the m6 you reviewed im curious because ive raced zo6 in my m6 they were tuned and bolt on but they were faster than me perhaps the weight is a factor and alsonmy tune was crap at the time now i have bm3 and its way faster. Just curious what you felt
In higher gears at the top of the RPM range the M6 felt faster (custom E30 flash). But overall the Z06 felt quicker to me mainly because there’s no lag with boost coming on. And yes, it’s a good 600lbs lighter so that also plays a big role.
I have a 16 z06 red 3lz A8. 2 tone red and black leather interior, full ground effects in carbon fiber, carbon ceramic brakes, non z07, I also have carbon fiber interior as well as dual roof package. One is exposed carbon fiber and the other is the transparent top. So Im pretty loaded even with carbon fiber. The only thing missing is the competition seats which I heard are uncomfortable, z07 package, and the visible carbon fiber hood insert. By the way at the 7:51 mark isn't that where Paul Walker died? 😬

General motors have been putting that center plaque in every Corvette since 1954 so if this the only thing you have to gripe about, it must be a pretty nice car
With how affordable these are getting, it's hard to justify a Porsche or Mclaren when the Corvette Z06 is literally just as quick in 90% of scenarios while being much more affordable to own and maintain.
If you can crawl in and out of it comfortably, it's absolutely daily driver material. If you're debating between a Z06 and a GrandSport, get the Z06. If dollars aren't a concern it isn't even a question. They're basically the same car other than the LT1 vs the LT4.

The 10-speed automatic gearbox was introduced into GM's lineup years after the C7 Z06 had already been in production. It wouldn't make sense to fit the car with it when the 8-speed was already thoroughly developed for this platform.
Yea the trans won’t upshift on its own when your in paddle mode that’s why it’s doing that. Also if you had a Range Device it makes the Engine stay in V8 mode and it drives way better, trans feels better too. Currently the way it sits the engine constantly switches from V8 / V4 mode and makes the car feel Shitty
Yea it was frustrating because there’s so much delay from when you press the paddle and the time the gear change occurs. So it made it tricky to get the upshifts timed right.

@@TheLightningSt0rm Right, it’s a dilemma considering how sh*tty SoFlo traffic can get near us. The A8 seems to be amazing when you actually push it to the limits, which is drawing me towards it. Then again, if I do a track day then I’m destined to go into limp mode at some point.
