      @@gnarlynikki It really doesn't. I think society is too obsessed with the 20s, cause we're taught we have to have everything together in our early 20s or we're failures. Nah. Success and stuff takes time. With the current projected average life expectancy in the U.S., you're at less than 50% in your 20s, even into your late 30s. It's fine to just, like, age as you please.

    My favorite part is that cane fighting is a real thing. A LOT of countries/cultures even have full on martial arts or fighting styles utilizing the cane. Hell, the art im trained in tries to teach cane stuff, specifically with the understanding that it can be helpful for older people. And this dude is just a textbook "white man tries to sound wise and mystical by talking about Asian fighting as if its deep, forgotten magic."

    CRTs are low latency and do not have any persistence blur due to strobing. They handle low resolution content much more gracefully. Old game consoles are designed with the gamma levels of an old CRT. They're just clearly superior if you're going to play a NES, SNES, Amiga or whatever.

    Love the reactions, been binging them lately :D
    As for the chunky TV's there is a reason... Many older games were developed in the way that it would look the best on CRT monitors with scanlines and all so playing them on modern televisions looks just wrong (and I am not talking about the aspect radious and weird artifacts the blurring causes as modern TV tries to stretch the old image to 4 times the size).
    There have been lots of sites doing comparison showing exactly how weirdly different e.g. original FFVII looks like when you don't have those teeny tiny black likes chunky TVs make between each pixel.
    I apologize, this is a weird thing to focus on :D Anyway, good work. Really enjoy your content.

    Honestly, the most confusing yet awesome-looking "elderly" product I've seen is the walk-in bath. Most people fill their bath with water and get it to the perfect temperature _before_ they get in. But with the walk-in, you have to be _in_ the bath _before_ you start filling it (the water pressure seals the door closed). But my question has always been - how do you avoid scalding yourself with the hot water? Even with mixer taps the temperature never comes out perfect the entire time, so you tend to have to play around a bit with the hot and cold taps to get the overall water in the bath just right. But that's a bit hard to do when you've accidentally made the bathtub a boiling cauldron _whilst_ being trapped _in_ the damned thing and totally unable to get out _because the water seals the door closed_ ... so again, how does it work, exactly??

  • @ericmarley7060

    People don't take care of their elderly relatives anymore. They need a robot to do it for them. That's it, this is the worst timeline.

    • @ineedaname5928
      @ineedaname5928 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I wouldn’t really say that considering basically everyone hates the idea, hence why it was in Jontrons video.
      Besides a robot could be useful, because it’s not like I can be with my grandparents 24/7 so when robots and ai become more human I wouldn’t mind hiring one to help when I’m not around.
      (That’s if they wouldn’t mind, but my grandpa at least loves the idea of robots so I’m sure he’d be interested).

    • @ineedaname5928
      @ineedaname5928 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@stanmarsh4566 Aren’t retirement homes meant for elderly people that can’t really look after themselves? And go back to my previous comment of I can’t be with them all the time.
      You could hire a caretaker, but you never really know what your gonna get with that, my mother used to work as one and she used to tell me the stuff some of the caretakers did, such as she once went to a elderly persons home but nobody helped them go to toilet so they ended up dirtying themselves and the previous caretaker never cleaned it up.

    For when he was talking about the old TVs in the gaming systems losing their quality when you use an expensive adapter there's a pretty cheap adapter for like 20 bucks by the company hyperkin that plugs into the back of the console and then plugs into your HDMI that is really good quality picture highly recommend and they make different HDMI adapters for different consoles so they're specific to each system it basically just replaces the red yellow and white plug and wires and replaces it with a HDMI ending

    Oh, Nikki. I’m sorry but that’s the most embarrassingly ignorant thing you’ve ever said. New stuff absolutely does NOT work. And it’s designed that way. There’s a reason antiques hold up so well for decades and even centuries. Because they were built to LAST. They weren’t built to be replaced annually like they are now. Profits weren’t the objective at the time. Quality was. How many iPhone charger cords have you had to replace? How many times has your grandmother replaced her sewing machine? Probably never.
