I just did the install while watching your video to guide me thru it. I got to say. The hose clamp would make you keep checking to reassure it is perfectly secured. No lubricant used. Thank you for the perfect install tutorial.

Have you had any leaking issues with the BPV since install? I saw some videos posted years ago showing vacuum leaks when spraying soapy water, and was curious if you've experienced the same thing. Really helpful video for installation btw!
No issues at all. No issues with the one I had on my wrx either.

I have this installed on my Blobeye wrx! Was wondering, when your revs aregoing above 3k and let go of the throttle/changing gears does it make a light flutter noise? I’m wondering if it’s supposed to do that or if my turbo or wastegate is fluttering.
Yes that is the valve functioning properly.
Would love to hear a before and after :) I got the Cobb BPV and it sounds a little louder than the factory one
Well, stock one had no sound. But definitely added noises afterwards. Has a nice flutter when you get off the gas. I’ll try to get some clips.

Hey Chris, just watched this video not that long ago and was wondering if you gave thought to the dual port BOV? And if you did, why you picked this over that one?
I wanted a full bpv to keep the stock functionality of it. There is no reason to go with anything else unless you are on a full custom build.

Hey Chris, where did you get that intercooler cover? Looks real nice. Also, do you have an aftermarket hood splitter installed?
The intercooler guard is from intertek fabrications. I don’t believe they make them anymore. Subispeed sells a similar item now. Stock hood splitter.

What rpm do you tend to hear it? I installed it today but can't really tell if I hear it or not. Granted I am in my break in phase as well.
You can only hear it on hard decels. Get on the car hard and release throttle while under boost.

Recirculating valves (for everyone wondering) aren't meant to make lots of noise. BOV's that vent to atmosphere sound amazing but can cause problems down the road, running rich, stalls, etc. The best way to get some noise is a COBB intake and a tune.

Much better quality. Built stronger. Better components. You can feel the weight difference. Yes there is a sound difference. Has a really cool flutter when you left off the gas. I’ll try to get some clips and audio of it.
Soo I just got mine in today and installed it correctly. Then went for a test drive and it sounds no different then the stock one. :(
I notice the pressure on the stock piston is really difficult to push then the turbo smart. I’m thinking I need a stiffer spring rate due to pushing 22psi I’m stage 2 on E

Go hard on the throttle and let off quickly. You’ll hear a nice flutter. I’m only running 20psi, so I can’t offer too much advice there.

It’s a tool set from kolbalt. I don’t think they sell it anymore.

I have a 2018 STI, Cobb DP, NVIDIA R400 exhaust, and im running the Cobb accessport stage 2 tune at the moment and unfortunately, to add an aftermarket intake to my current build (from what I have researched) I would need a BCM, injectors, fuel pumps ect...
Yes it still flutters. Yes you are correct. The stock injectors and fueling won’t keep up with stage 2+.

Why does it say bov on the box instead of bpv?

The car would cut out, stumble issues, idle issues. Lots of different things could happen.
Just did this install on my 2018 STI today. Didn’t felt any sound difference from the stock one. Did i miss anything on the process or just the fact that my car is full stock means that no “flutter” will be heard?
This functions the same way as stock. There is only a small flutter when you are on it and left off the throttle aggressively. This is not a bov, so it’s not what you are expecting.

If you are worried about warranty, stay stock.
is the oem bolts better or the bolts that came in with the package i installed mine yesterday and dont really notice just louder
I just prefer using OEM bolts when possible.

I’m not very familiar with the fa motor as I am with the ej. I know a lot of guys do one on them though. I wouldn’t want to give you misinformation, I would definitely do your research before jumping on it.
How much boost can it hold?
If I will install that turbo smart on my audi a4 b6 quattro 1.8 I will have problems in the future ? It's bad or good to install that on the car?
I am not familiar with the platform so I do not know. Your best bet is to look around for an Audi channels that will have better insight.

Do these need to be maintained/cleaned? I only see videos of old Turbosmart BPV. These new ones can’t seem to be able to be opened??
No maintenance required. It’s just one solid unit that doesn’t need to be cleaned.

It makes some flutter noises on hard decels, but not even close to a true bov.
No tune needed for a fully recirculating bpv.

The OEM is more than adequate. I just had a great experience with my turbosmart bpv in my wrx that I wanted to get it on my STI. It’ll definitely add some nice flutter even with the OEM box

If it’s been tuned for the bov, then yes.

There’s really no way to tell just from the tune. You’d have to contact the previous owner or the company who tuned the car to see what mods it was tuned for.

It functions the same as stock but will yield much more consistent boost as the components are higher quality.

There really isn’t any noise for before. I tried to get some in engine bay audio but it blew the mic out so it’s hard to get Audio on it. You can hear it a bit on my intake videos.

This can be used without a tune. It functions the same way the stock bpv operates.

Hey mate i ordered the same item and they dont fit the 2020 sti. The front mouth piece is interchangeable from 34 to 28mm but mine didnt habe the screw mounts for the front and the plate which bolts to the TMIC is smaller than factory.
The intercooler is the same one since 2008. My
Guess is you received the wrong bpv.

In this application yes. But I have since changed it out for a Grimmspeed gasket.

Already tried. The motor audio blew out the mic when I attempted to get sound clips.

Not even close haha. You won’t get the sound you are expecting. That will only be achieved by a full bov.

I wouldn’t put it on the car if I didn’t know or feel it was safe. It would only void warranty if something went wrong that was correlated to the bpv.

Just bought this exact bpv but mine don't line up with the big hose. I noticed that the piece where that stock pipe connects to the bpv can be taken off as will.
You can rotate the inlet to line up with the stock piping.
